It had been a very long day for Lex. She had spent most of it fixing up cars that had seen much better days and the other half listening to people complain about their problems as she sorted them out. Now she wasn't a rude person (honest) but there was only so much she could take which was why she had decided that after being away from the cages for so long she would go back tonight- if only to get rid of some of the stress she was feeling thanks to the long day and maybe only slightly to do with the wolf she had gotten involved with.
Ah, Morrison. The large and very sexy Irish wolf she had somehow managed to fall into bed with...There were so many problems with the whole thing with him that she didn't even know where to start! Whilst she found herself to be falling head over heels for the man she didn't really know where she stood with him. On the one hand he treated her well, never really forcing her into anything she didn't want to do but on the other she didn't even know how to describe their relationship- if anyone asked she didn't even think she could introduce him as her 'boyfriend' having never had the formal confirmation for what they were doing...did she introduce him as her lover? She doubted that would go down well since most people thought she had several on the go....and she wasn't sure he wanted to be tied down as a boyfriend since it implied he was stuck with her.
A scowl crossed over her lips as she stared up at the building before her, ignoring the people walking inside as they passed her by. She hadn't been here in such a long time she wasn't even sure who was running it anymore- it passed hands quite often- nor was she sure if there was any new blood, although she would be surprised if there wasn't in this business...in fact she was classed as rather old for a fighter but that was only because she never lost. Finally she decided to get inside before she got caught out and was soon in front of a new bouncer who looked down at her for a moment or two before allowing her to sign the register as 'Mercy' before letting her inside the area for the fighters. Slipping down the corridor she briefly wondered if Morrison had been planning on coming over for the night as he had been doing for most of the days (not counting when he had been busy) before deciding it was too late to do anything now...he had been used to her always being at the garage still working so he would just have to stick around till she got home. If she got home. She didn't ponder on that bit too long.
An hour later and she was dressed in a pair of figure hugging leather trousers and low cut top that clung to her like a second skin. She didn't particularly favour these kind of clothes but they were surprisingly easy to move about in and it gave her an edge over her other opponent- especially if said fighter was a male- and added with a pair of medium heels she looked quite the sexy little picture. Closing the door behind her she made her way out of the dressing rooms and made her way towards the main arena where the screams and shouts of the crowd was easily heard even though it was hidden by the closed doors. A moment later and those doors opened to reveal a pair of men carrying a body down the hallway and she pressed up against the wall as they went past her eyes looking at the face of the poor person who had lost. It was a vaguely familiar face but like every other time she couldn't look any longer than a second and her head was soon turned to the side so she didn't have to look any longer. This was the life she had chosen but it didn't mean she wanted to actually look any longer than needed....
And then she was stepping through the doors and the announcer was giving her 'alter ego' name to the screaming crowd. She was well known, she knew this and the fact that she was still standing made sure to give her a healthy bonus once the fight was over...providing she survived it this time around of course but she had never lost so why should she this time around? Apart from the fact she couldn't use her Sai...and the person opposite her was huge[/].
She stared up at the man built like a house and for just a moment she felt a small flutter of panic take over her before she squashed it down again. She could not afford to feel fear in this place! Nor was she a coward. She had chosen to come here and by god she was going to win! As the announcer started the fight she was already in a fighting stance and hoping that her speed would help her win this...because brute strength was not her strong point and she was more than aware of that.
As the man lunged at her she jumped nimbly to the side, ducking beneath his swing and placing a well aimed kick into his back and she spun around before he could. How the hell was she going to beat him? Behind the metal cage the crowd was going crazy and she could just hear the bookies calling in any and all bets as she danced around inside.
It was about five minutes into the fight and the pair of them had received several blows to the body and although Lex had taken them a little more badly than the male she was still on her feet...until the cough that had been plaguing her so long suddenly made its presence known. As she doubled over the man took advantage and two huge fists pounded into her exposed back sending her sprawling to the ground with a cry and as she hit the hard floor she tried to roll out of the way but was caught by a foot sending her rolling away from the man anyway. With a groan she spat up the blood that pooled in her mouth and shook away the blurred vision that was threatening to take over her.
As she tried to crawl away from the house like man she felt his hands grab at her ankles and her hands scrabbled to get a hold of something -anything- before she was yanked back. The next thing she knew one of his large hands was wrapped around her neck and she was lifted clean off the ground. Her hands moved to fruitlessly claw at his fingers, trying to ply them from around her throat but it was useless. Her legs kicked out slightly as her air supply was cut off and gasping breaths signaled that she was not getting the required oxygen needed to keep her alive.
It was as her vision was starting to go black and her struggles were practically non existent that she was released from the grip. Something changed in the ring and as she landed heavily onto the ground with a more than solid thump she blacked out thanks to a combination of the landing and the lack of air....

If ever Morrison had felt like he’d had a perfect week, then this would have been one of them. Well, at least it would have been close, normal perhaps. He was going to work regularly, finally, and he’d calmed down enough that it seemed safe to give him back his snot-nosed interns, though most of them were too afraid of him to even ask him a simple question, like where the stapler had gone to. It was nice to have the time to himself though. And Iivan had his bandages off, so he could go running around town like he used to, selling his stuff and hooking up with girls; it was like nothing had ever happened. Then there was Lexine, possibly the strangest girl he had ever had the pleasure to meet. He was spending a lot of time over at her place these days, despite his wolf-friend’s disapproval, though he couldn’t help but wonder why everything was going so well. However, he was doing well with ignoring that sinking feeling he got every once and a while and he would just enjoy the moment.
Even though it was late when Morrison got out of work, since he’d had to pop on up to Norfolk for business that morning and hadn't gotten back until that evening, he was content with how the day had gone. He would be glad to be back in arms of Lexi soon enough. Perhaps she would be kind enough to let him spend the night with her. She usually was, but he still felt the need to ask, to seem like a gentleman and so that he wouldn’t ever feel like he was taking advantage of her, with her being so young. It seemed that he just couldn’t get over that. When he had had relationships in the past, as few as that was, he tried to be with someone close to his age because it felt like they were on the same level. Not that he thought Lexi was any lesser than him, she was only different, they didn’t always think the same way, but at least they got along well.
Morrison had decided that it would be a good idea to change before he went down the garage; he’d look like a complete asshole if he showed up with his fancy car and his fancy suit. And so, he got going a whole 20 minutes later than he’d wanted to, mostly because he’d been neglecting his laundry and he had to search around for decent clothes. He arrived at Lexi’s home and work another 10 minutes later, ready to walk in and drag her into a hug. However, when he got inside, he didn’t see her around anywhere, didn’t see her either. He had to ask one of the men that worked there were she had gone, preferring not to ask the OldMan, whose name apparently was Bert, but he said that she’d been gone for a few minutes already and he didn’t know where she had gone. He asked a few more people around, still avoiding her guardian, but the consensus seemed to be that nobody knew where she was.
If she wasn’t willing to tell anyone where she was, then he had to assume that it was somewhere bad; that was the only logical explanation in his mind. She wouldn’t have told anyone if she went to the doctors, but she would have at least wanted to bring him so she was somewhere she didn’t even want him to be. Already worried, Morrison got into his car, thinking hard. Those scars she had, all over body, they had to come from fighting, but she didn’t just fight people out of the blue, since he knew that she wasn’t that stupid, there had to be some sort of structure to it. Perhaps it was a literal structure even. He knew of the cages, and they seemed like a good place to start, but he wasn’t sure where any of them were; he’d never been interested in taking a visit. He did know who could tell him where to find one though.
“Iivan?” he was soon asking into his phone. There was a shuffling on the other line and few whispers before he heard his friend’s voice, sounding a bit winded, but happy. He didn’t want to know what had been going on. “Where’s the nearest… fight… cage?” he got out slowly, not quite sure what to call it, but just wanting to get straight to the point. Iivan let out a short huff then muttered something to whoever was obviously with him. ”Why?’ He then asked, sounding as if he were grinning. “I’ll tell you later, you got an address?” Again, there was a pause as the wolf spoke to someone else then he quickly ran off an address that Morrison was barely able to get down in his own head before the phone was briskly hung up. Damn wolf must be with some whore…
Unsure that he would get the address right, Morrison pushed it into the GPS after turning on the car and to his luck, he was given some random, old warehouse; that made sense enough to him. He was half wishing that he could find Lexine there, but at the same time, he didn’t want to see her fighting. He supposed he’d find out soon enough. Within half an hour, which was longer than he’d wished, he was pulling up along a curb across from a large building that sort of had the feeling of being a club, only it clearly wasn’t. There were just a lot of people trying to get. Would he even be able to get in? Maybe someone would recognize him; it happened every once and a while.
Turning off his car, he tucked his keys into his pocket then checked his wallet for money and his D.O.G.S. id, just in case it was needed. Not wanting to waste any time, Morrison stepped out of the car, straightening his leather jacket and sort of wishing that he’d kept his suit on so that he’d seem professional and intimidating. Oh well, his face was intimidating enough. Ignoring the line that was forming at the door, he walked straight up to the bouncer, hoping that he’d just go ahead and let him in. Unfortunately, he was stopped and told to get to the back of the line. Very much undeterred, the wolf reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet to show his id. Recognition flashed in the larger man’s eyes and then he frowned a bit suspiciously before giving in and letting Morrison through.
Smiling a bit smugly to himself, very glad to have that sort of power, the wolf moved through a small crowd of people to find what he was really looking for. His smile faded quickly when his eyes came upon the cage that housed the main fighting area. Well, he could see why Iivan would frequent places like this, it was definitely full of druggies and the like, plenty of business for him. Not that this was any of Morrison’s concern, he just wanted to see if Lexi was here and get her out as quickly as possible if she was.
As he got closer to the crowd, he noticed that someone new was entering the cage, but everyone as packed so tight that he couldn’t get a view of who it was. Hoping that it wasn’t Lexine, Mercy now he supposed (he should keep that in mind), he shoved people to the side so that he could actually get a view of what was going on. For a few minutes however, he couldn’t get anywhere, and all he was aware of was the yelling of the crowd around him, pounding in his ears, and the barely distinguishable screams of the fighters; one male and the other female.
Goddamn, people needed to get out of his way! “Move your fucking arse,” he growled to a vampire who stood in front of him. They turned around, giving him a dirty look that quickly became frightened at the look on the wolf’s own face. Furious with anxiety, Morrison made a path through the crowd, shoving people to the side now without any regard for their safety or the angry looks and shouts that they threw at him. His paranoia was rewarded when he got to the very front and was pressed up against the bars of the cage. Well, there was Lexi, but she was definitely not winning this fight. He didn’t even notice her outfit, which would have usually sent his mind reeling, all he saw was that she was in trouble and he had the thought that she was going to die if he didn’t stop this soon.
Barely restraining himself from choking all those who were in his way, Morrison shoved wolves, humans, and vampires alike out of his way so that he could get to the cage’s door, which was thankfully not too far off. The man who was there yelled something at the wolf, probably telling him to get away, but he couldn’t be sure, as he was only focused on getting Lexi out of danger. The man, who was, as most seemed to be in here, larger than him, grabbed for him to pull him away, but Morrison punched him briskly in the face, making him fall back in a daze. He glanced down at the lock on the door and decided that he didn’t need a key, easily ripping the latch right out with the help of all the adrenaline that was rushing to him.
The wolf carelessly swung the wolf to the side and before the very large human holding Lexin could even react to him, he rushed at him, plowing his shoulder into the man’s ribs. Mercy was dropped from his grip the second before Morrison hit him, but he couldn’t pay attention to the woman at the moment; this bastard had to pay. Though the other man was still on his feet and glaring at the wolf, he had a slightly confused look in his eyes and he had no time to regain comprehension of what was going on. Within less than a second, Morrison was rushing him again, this time landing a hard punch underneath his jaw. The unnecessarily large human blinked and began to raise his fists to retaliate, but he then received another uppercut and another and another, until he was wobbling and dizzy. Though this was probably sufficient to keep him down long enough to get Mercy out, Morrison didn’t want to take any chances. He aimed his fist lower, stabbing out at the man’s chest before dropping onto one knee and grabbing the man’s leg then yanking so that he fell flat on his back. Ready to take out the rest of his fury on the human, he scrambled on top of him to sit on his chest and then began to punch him repeatedly in the face, leaving room between each hit to breath out a word. “Leave. My. Human. Alone. You. Sodding. Bastard.”
The screams of the crowd was completely lost in Morrison’s ears as he sat for a moment on the unconscious man’s chest, breathing deeply and holding his bloodied fist out to his side. Then he remembered Lexi and all he needed was to get her safe. Scrambled to his feet, he dashed over to the woman and knelt beside her, leaning to listen for her heartbeat and breathing. It was there and it was strong, but there was blood on her lips and she still wasn’t awake. With a sudden and drastic change in character, the wolf began to mutter to the human, telling her she’d be alright, and he lifted her carefully but quickly. They should have stopped the fight earlier! Damn them, did they want to see her killed?
The yelling of the crowd was dying down by now, not so enthused by the saving of one of the fighters, but he paid them no mind. Shoving on past people that were trying to talk to him or get him to stop, he made his way back out front, still mumbling to Lexi and hoping that she’d be okay. He was going to get her to Jeena’s immediately, he didn’t care if she had to see anyone else; his human needed attention desperately.

Lexi swam in and out of consciousness as the loud screams of the crowd kept filtering through into her hazy mind and every now and then her eyes would flutter slightly as if they were trying to open to see what the hell was going on. Except she couldn't keep them open long enough to actually see what was happening and so had to reply on her hearing...although that was a little off thanks to the beating she had just received.
It was as she was coming back into the land of living for a brief moment that she heard the snarls coming from somewhere behind her and her mind strained to make out the words they formed. “Leave. My. Human. Alone. You. Sodding. Bastard.” She knew that voice didn't she? Where did she know it from? And what did they mean by 'my human'. It made her sound like some sort of property...and she was not owned thank you very much! It was as she blacked out once again that it finally came to her who it could be.
Morrison. A small warmth spread through her as she realised that he had come to find her and that he was fighting to protect her. Any worries she might have had about if he cared for her well being were being slowly broken apart although it didn't mean he particularly cared in any other way. It was when she felt him by her that she finally allowed herself to fall into the darkness that welcomed her with open arms, trusting her wolf not to let anything happen to her as she did so. She didn't even hear him tell her it was going to be alright, nor did she hear the worry in his voice.
The crowd around the pair of them had gone into a stunned silence before it erupted into angry calls and screams- they had been denied blood and death and they were going to voice their anger as loudly as possible. How dare this man come in and ruin what was going to be the perfect reign to the girl#s winning streak? More than half of them knew who Mercy was here and most, if not all were always betting good money that she would lose...and the day that she had almost lost she had been saved! People moved forwards as if to stop the man but he pushed through them without paying attention and they soon turned their anger to the announcer and bookies, all demanding their bets back.
Had Lex been awake she would have been completely humiliated. Her career in the cages was over...there was no way in hell she could come back here now! They would never let her fight after a show like this- after all, it was just bad form to have to be rescued by your...boyfriend? No. She was officially retired from the cage fighting business and once she found out she was not going to be impressed. Although that was probably because she still harbored her death wish and despite being very much in love with Morrison (not admitting it though) she was still unconvinced he would stay with her very long.
As she was placed into the backseat of Morrison's car she finally started to come around properly and her lips opened slightly as a small groan escaped them. As her eyes fluttered open she was very much aware of just how much pain she was in and another moan came from the beaten woman. Oh. God! Every inch of her felt black and blue, especially around her neck where she didn't need to be some sort of doctor to know that her windpipe was screwed for a little while.
It took a moment or two for her eyes to readjust to the light in the car compared to in the building and her head lolled to the side slightly so she could attempt to look at the man. "Morri...son..." Had she been able to wince she would have taken the time to do so, her voice was barely above a whisper and came out a lot more broken than she had thought it would but thanks to that man crushing her throat in such a way it was probably a miracle she was A. alive and B. Able to even talk that amount.
Knowing she was safe for now and that he wasn't going to yell at her when she could barely even see straight was what allowed her to succumb to the darkness once again as the pain grew too much for her to bear. Her head fell limply to the side as her eyes closed once again and unconsciousness took over her.
Her last thought however was...
~He's going to kill me...~ Although she wasn't sure if she was thinking of Morrison or Bert...or both...

If anyone thought they were going to stop Morrison from leaving with Lexi in his arms, they were sadly mistaken. Clearly, people were infuriated that he’d gone and saved one of their fighters and many yelled curses at him, even going so far as tossing bottles and cups as hit back. But nobody was trying to hold him back; they knew better. He had just crippled probably one of the biggest men they had there, so what chance did anyone else stand?
Outside and mostly away from the noise, he could concentrate better on the human in his arms, wondering how extensive her injuries were. She was having an alright breathing, though there was already a dark red bruise forming on her neck, and he the feeling that it would be there for a few days. That would demand a few awkward explanations out of her, but at least she seemed to be alright. It was just strange that she was still rather unconscious. Morrison really hoped that she hadn’t gotten a concussion, not wanting her have any brain damage. But he’d have to wait until he got her to the hospital.
Though it was a bit difficult with his hands full, he was able to get the back door of car open so that he could lay Lexi gently down on the seats. He leaned over her to pull two of the seat belts over her, making sure that she wouldn’t slide around, and when he began to get back out, he stopped when he saw her eyes fluttering softly. "Morri...son..." The wolf reached up to run a hand over the woman’s cheek, saying quietly, “Shhh, you’re going to lose your voice like.” He lifted up one of her hands to kiss her fingers before dropping her hand back down and closing the door on her.
Deciding that it would be helpful to warn Jeena that Lexine needed her help, he took out his phone as he slid in behind the wheel. He dialed the woman’s cell number before he started up the car, not wanting to waste any time just waiting around for the doctor to tell him it was alright to come over. “Hey Jeena,” Morrison was saying as he began to pull the car away from the curve, going slow so that Mercy wasn’t jostled around. “I need to bring Lexine in, she’s-” But he was cut of by the human who told him, harshly, that they didn’t have any room left at the hospital and that he had to take care of his own goddamn problem. Yes, she had sworn, and she never swore. Clutching the wheel tightly and frowning as he held back his anger, Morrison forced his voice to be calm. “It’s serious, you know I wouldn’t bother you otherwise.” There was a few moments of silence before the woman on the other line sighed. She apologized, blaming it on stress, but she still told him that he couldn’t bring Lexi to the clinic; it was too full. However, she did promise to be over at his apartment in 20 minutes. “Thank you,” the wolf sighed, turning his car down a different street than he had been planning so he could get home.
It wasn’t at all ideal having to take Lexi home, especially if Iivan was there, but he was more willing to take her there than some random hospital who wouldn’t treat her with the same attention that he was sure Jeena would. And it wasn’t as if the woman was awake enough to even notice where they would. She would (hopefully) be able to tell where they were in a few hours but maybe she’d be alright with it; he’d be spending so much time at the garage, so it was about time that she was over at his house. At which they were arriving in no time.
The doctor wasn’t there yet, there would have actually been a car in the parking lot, since most people here rented spaces in the nearby garage while Morrison and Iivan had gone a step farther to build their own garage. However, just to make it simpler for him, he parked his car at the front of the building, not wanting to go through the whole locking everything up ordeal. After turning off the machine, he stepped out and opened up Lexi’s door, reaching in hand to gently pull up her to sit. She was awake now, but he wasn’t sure that she knew what was going on, so he wouldn’t ask her to walk, not up three flights of stairs anyway. “Come on,” he sighed, lifting her into his arms with a bit of effort, no longer feeling that rush of adrenaline before. He wasn’t looking forward to getting her up those stairs, even though he’d managed to drag Iivan up them once, it was still no fun. At least the wolf was sure that there was no way in hell he was just leaving her out here, he was a better man than to do that.

It was really very possible that Lexi was suffering from a concussion but then again it was probably the lack of oxygen to the brain that had her feeling light headed and kept her from getting back into the land of the living. Whatever it was she felt like she had been hit by a truck and when she finally awoke it was to the purring of an engine- although the sound of it was almost enough to put her back to sleep...
It was when they came to a stop that she let out a small whimper as her body continued to move until it was forced to stop thanks to the belts that were wrapped around her. Ow. That did not feel good at all...Not one little bit! As the door opened and Morrison loomed up before her she blinked slightly as if trying to get her sight back into order- everything was really very fuzzy and she wasn't sure she would be able to stand up let alone walk anyway. Not that she had to worry about that apparently...
“Come on,” He spoke as he pulled her into a sitting position and before she could make any sort of answer was in his arms once again and that feeling of warmth and safety assaulted her once again. She wasn't really sure how she was supposed to feel about that but she guessed it was better than being afraid of him and if she were honest she really did prefer being looked after by someone instead of pretending that she was fine alone. Wrapping her arms around his neck and tucking her head into the crook of his shoulder she decided not to think about it for the time being but that was mostly because it was giving her a terrible headache.
As he moved into the building she blinked at it in confusion. This wasn't her home...or any hospital she had ever seen before. Actually, she really hoped it wasn't a hospital since the last time she had been in one it had been a less than pleasant stay despite meeting Morrison there (although it could be argued that that was part of the reason...) and not to mention she had been awfully rude to that doctor and she doubted Jeena would want to meet her again- she wouldn't want to meet her again either.
"Where..?" She had attempted to ask where they were but her voice had broken before she had even finished getting the first word out and she had to hope that he understood what she wanted to know. If this was a hospital she was rather glad she couldn't talk as she didn't really want to explain why she had been in a cage match fighting for her life. Scratch that. She didn't even want to speak to Morrison about it but figured she wasn't going to get off very lightly... She had a terrible feeling that she was going to get a bit of an earful...
But then, why would he care? Yes he had saved her life (which in itself was bloody idiotic) and had been sleeping with her but that didn't really mean he saw her as much more than a good lay- and she wasn't even sure she was one of those. No, it was easier to think that he didn't really care that much about her, it made the thought of getting told off a little easier to bear but not by much...despite everything she really didn't like being told off by anyone, especially not by the people she cared about.
Oh god. Was Bert going to be in there? She hoped not...

Honestly, it was rather cute when Lexi had settled herself into the wolf’s arms and then tucked her head against his shoulder so that all he could see was the top of her pink hair. Morrison might have been tempted to tell her so or smile a little, but he was just too worried. If she didn’t want to be actively looking around at anything then she had to have a painful headache which was not a good sign. He knew plenty about concussions, having had a few himself, and it was not looking good for the woman. He could only hope that she’d just gotten a bad bruise and that her brain wasn’t currently swelling up dangerously.
Morrison turned around to push the door open with his back, glad that these side doors weren’t locked until midnight, then turned back around to start up the stairs. "Where...?" The wolf tilted his head a little to glance over at her and then pecked her temple. “I’m taking you up to my apartment,” he said, starting up the steps, “I’d bring you back to the garage, but I think it’d be better for you here.” She might have been very bothered by this before, yet now that they had this relationship, whatever it could be called, and so it seemed to him that she would be alright with wherever he wanted to take her.
Now with his concentration on the stairs instead of Lexi, the man was silent, trying to keep himself from tripping since he couldn’t see the next step or his feet. Though he did rest his chin softly against the top of the woman’s head, hoping this wouldn’t make her headache any worse and if did, wishing her to tell him. He lifted his head only when they reached the top of the stairs a few minutes later so that he could adjust the human’s weight onto one arm while he reached into his jacket pocket for his door key. So that his one arm wouldn’t start to get sore, he leaned against the wall as he opened the door and then quickly repositioned both arms under Lexi’s bum for a better hold on her.
He started back toward the guest bedroom, but his ears picked up some not pleasant sounds coming from that way and so he turned to bring her to his own room. He really wished Iivan had decided to leave for someone else’s house and hadn’t stayed here; Morrison would have to clean up after him tomorrow. At least there was a huge distance between the two rooms, the front room, kitchen, sitting room, and bathroom separating them, so Lexine would be practically undisturbed if she wanted to sleep there.
“I’ve called a doctor to come check on you,” he told her quietly, shifting her a bit to push his bedroom door open, “she should be here pretty soon.” Glad to finally put Lexi down, he set her on the bed with a sigh, kissing her cheek softly before pulling back and moving around the bed to turn on the lamp against the wall. Morrison glanced down at the woman then up to the door when he heard someone knocking. He thought he’d left the front door open so that Jeena could just walk in, but it must have closed by itself. “One second,” he told her, making his way quickly out of the room.
As he’d thought, Jeena was waiting outside in the hallway, still in her labcoat and carrying a bag with her. She looked up at the wolf with a frown and started to push past him but he stopped her by throwing his arms around her shoulders and giving her a hug. When he pulled away, she was staring at him a little softer, if not with a little pity in her eyes. “She was in a fight,” he whispered to her as he led her to the back rooms, “she was being choked and think she hit her head pretty bad.” The doctor made no reply as she moved ahead of him and into the room, but by the tension in her hands and back, he could tell she was nervous, or worried, and that was not a good sign.
“Hello Lexine,” Jeena said quietly, setting her bag on the bed and then sitting down next to the woman, clearly trying to ignore the outfit the other human had on, an outfit which Morrison actually hadn't noticed yet. "Can you sit up for me?" she asked the pink-haired woman, reaching over to her bag and pulling out a few objects. The wolf chose to stand on the side of the bed with Lexi, even though there would have been room enough on the mattress for all three of them to sit, he didn’t want to crowd it and he wanted to let Jeena have room to examine the woman.

“I’m taking you up to my apartment,”
Well, that explained why she didn't have a clue where they were and why it looked nothing like a hospital...Then it sunk in as to where they were headed sunk in and she twisted her head ever so slightly as if trying to look around although nothing really registered anyway. She had never been here before and for some reason the fact that she was only here now was because she had nearly died irked her. They had never actually brought up the topic of going to his for their 'nightly activities' but she had somewhat hoped that maybe it would happen in perhaps a romantic kind of way, either that or he simply didn't want to bring her home because she wasn't worth it. The feeling of being unwanted hit her once again and this time it wasn't her head that seemed to hurt but her heart.
“I’d bring you back to the garage, but I think it’d be better for you here.”
Well, that was a good a reason as any she guessed. The thought of being carried into the garage when Bert had told her that he would be working late was just not a good one- she could just see the man's reaction if Morrison had turned up with her like this! It would not have been pretty and whilst Bert had somewhat accepted that Morrison was going to be hanging around her for the time being it had not actually rid his dislike for the wolf. She didn't want to think how he would react to a man who was...older. She made a mental note to try and remember to ask Morrison how old he actually was since she hadn't a clue.
As he carried her up the stairs she tucked her head away once again having thoroughly depressed herself with her thoughts and despite feeling him place his chin gently atop her head she just couldn't bring herself to enjoy it. Mostly because she was in pain and partly because she didn't want to fall any deeper than she had already...although it was going to take some work on that last one.
It didn't really take long (to her) before they were outside a door and as he jostled her slightly to get the door open she fought back the small whimper of pain as he did so, not wanting to let on that the movement had been more than uncomfortable. As they entered the apartment however and despite being rather out of it the sounds she could only just hear were somewhat disturbing and the thought that the other wolf was going to be here made her want to get out of Morrison's arms and run away as fast as her legs would take her. She did not want to be anywhere near Iivan and the thought he might be here in the same building as her made her skin crawl. She was more than thankful when they turned away down into another room where she was gently deposited onto a very comfy and rather large bed.
“I’ve called a doctor to come check on you,”
If she'd had the energy she would have sent him a glare but he disappeared before she could say anything. A doctor? She really didn't like doctors and since she had an idea of which doctor it might be she dreaded the whole thing. To start with doctors had never really asked her if there had been any abuse in her family and had assumed that she was a cutter (and promptly making her lose faith in them...idiots...) and another thing was that this doctor didn't seem to like her very much- not that she blamed the lady mind you since she bloody well didn't like herself! It probably hadn't helped that she had been somewhat rude to her, but that was something of a defensive thing with her. Or maybe the other lady didn't like her because of Morrison? Whatever the reason she wasn't looking forward to this...
Had she not known that Jeena was going to be coming in to see her she could have quite gladly fallen asleep on the bed- it was really really comfy and she was really tired although she wasn't sure how much of that feeling was because her body wanted to pass out and how much was because she had been rather busy all day...it didn't matter, just the thought of being poked and prodded was enough to put her on edge and when Jeena finally entered with Morrison she tried to keep herself as alert as possible (which was easier thought than done).
As Jeena called her 'Lexine' she gave a slightly visible cringe before hiding it away as quickly as it had come. She really didn't like being called Lexine since it always brought to mind that she was about to get into trouble, in fact the only people who called her that was Bert and the cops whenever she was picked up for possession. Otherwise the only others were her family...and they were long gone. "Its Lexi...please..." Her voice was still beyond raspy and she gave a wince of discomfort as she forced herself into the sitting position Jeena wanted her in.
Once there however she wavered slightly, blinking at her blood rushed about trying to keep her awake but making her more dizzy in the process. Eugh. She just wanted to fall asleep and forget about tonight but from the look on both of the faces staring at her it was not something that was likely to happen anytime soon. Jeena looked pissed off and she bet that this visit was not going to go well for her...because everyone knew that doctors were not very nice when pissed off. And Morrison's face...she wasn't sure whether he was angry or concerned since he sort of hovered just to the side of her and she didn't want to move her head to look at him in case another wave of dizziness took over her. She hoped he wasn't angry but she knew perfectly well not to hope for such a thing.
No. This evening was not going very well at all....she should have stayed at home! And once she got home in the morning she would have to go through the whole thing again with Bert since he would want to know where she had gone off to...and she was going to black and blue so he would more thank likely have a go about that too. Her throat was going to be the one to explain mind you...Great.

Morrison had to be the most selfish man in the world. At least that was how Jeena saw him at the moment. He could have called any other doctor in London and they would have been at his house in two seconds, but he’d just had to bother her because he couldn’t be bothered to find anyone else. Actually, she did know that it was because he didn’t trust anyone else as much as her with treating a person who had any importance to him. But today was just a bad day for calling on her for anything. Idiots had been coming into the clinic all day and more than one person had complained about the bill that they’d been given when leaving. Usually, she had the nurses deal with all of this, but most of them had been in the emergency room all day because of a car accident that morning.
It also didn’t help that Jeena wasn’t terribly fond of the wolf’s new girlfriend. They had only met once, but it hadn’t left her with a good impression and it took quite a bit to change her mind. Even though Morrison liked the girl a lot, it didn’t mean that Jeena would automatically like her too, mostly because the wolf had a habit of getting to know some of the worst people.
"Its Lexi...please..."
The doctor looked up from her bag, frowning softly, before nodding her head once. The girl had said please, so that was a start. Turning away again, Jeena pulled on some gloves before looking back to Lexi and scooting closer to her. Without asking permission, she lifted her hands up to the girl’s face, using her fingers to coax her eyes open and hold them there. “Tilt your head to the side,” she told her, moving her head so that the light directly hit her pupils.
Jeena seemed to ignoring it, yet Morrison could tell that Lexi was leaning back slightly, wobbling a little on her seat. He didn’t know if this was because she was put off by the doctor’s touch or because she was light headed, but he was afraid that she’d fall over onto the floor. Deciding that it would alright to crowd the bed for a little while, he sat down beside and slightly behind his human so that she could lean on him if she needed, though his arms had already curled loosely around her waist before she made any indication that she wanted support. He watched over the woman’s shoulders as Jeena looked her over and gently grazed over her injuries. As she touched the particularly tender spot on Lexi’s temple, he felt her tense and bent down to kiss her cheek, hoping to calm her down.
“Well...?” the man asked, staring at the doctor from behind the other woman, not able to tell at all what Jeena was thinking, there was only the slightest of frowns on her lips. “She’ll be alright,” she sighed and then addressed the girl directly. “You’ll be fine, you just need to rest for a few days. As far as I can tell, you don’t have a concussion. There is a nasty bump on your temple, it’ll hurt a lot, but I wouldn’t be worried unless you started feeling nauseous.” She looked back to Morrison, sighing. “If she does, call me.” She then slowly got to her feet, snapping off her gloves and dropping them into the bag that she hadn’t (thankfully) had to use anything out of.
After kissing Lexi’s cheek again, the wolf got up to see the doctor out, rather relieved to hear that the woman would be alright and that this had been finished so fast. “Thank you so much,” Morrison said to Jeena, standing just inside the door while she was out in hall. “Yah,” the human muttered, a smile creeping onto her face. “well, bye Morry.” The wolf nodded to her and then shut the door, turning around to head back to his room...
“Gah!” Morrison jumped and lifted his hands up in defense before immediately relaxing, “Iivan, god, what the hell are you doing?” Why hadn’t he heard the man come up behind him? It wasn’t as if the other wolf was a master of stealth and he had damned good ears. On top of it, his friend was pretty much wasted. “Oh nothing,” Iivan whispered unnecessarily, “just heard Jeena out here, wondering what was goin’ on.” Morrison was about to explain when someone completely new turned up behind the wolf. “Who’s this?” he asked slowly, frowning.
Iivan looked around confused then turned back with a grin, “This is Karen,” he said proudly. “Hello,” the woman cooed, walking up behind the wolf and hugging his waist. Morrison was the only one not happy with all of this. “She’s a vampire you know,” his voice was disapproving. “Yup,” Iivan said, swinging an around the leech’s shoulder, “but she’s careful with the teeth. She does the best-” Morrison shook his head and cut him off. “I don’t wanna know,” he sighed, “you think you two could leave for the night?” Iivan pondered this and looked down at Karen. “Alright,” He pulled out his keys and led the vampire past his friend to get out the door. Morrison grabbed the wolf’s keys before he got out the door and handed them to the woman instead. “You drive,” he said, glaring at the other man, “he’s drunk.” With that, he let them go, slamming the door at their backs. This was getting ridiculous, but he’d have to deal with Iivan another day.
Flexing his fingers, which were only now starting to feel sore from the beating they’d given, he made his way to his room again, glad that he didn’t have anything more than the girl’s aching head to deal with for now. “You feeling any better?” he asked, sitting softly on the bed beside her then reaching over and placing his hand on her knee. Hopefully, she’d be able to sleep through the night and that her head would feel much better in the morning. In the back of his mind, he was rather angry with her for going to the cages in the first place, but he’d wait until she could bear his yelling.

Lexi wasn't really convinced the doctor was happy about serving her oath and helping her...because frankly she was getting the vibe of severe dislike. Not that she blamed the woman but really? Telling her she only had a bit of a bump on her head? What about her throat! That was not a small thing and it really hurt...but she said nothing not wanting to make the woman dislike her more than she already did since it wouldn't solve anything and Morrison obviously liked the woman so she wasn't going to cause waves...but she might as well have diagnosed herself. Bah.
Mind you. Having your boyfriend wrap his arms around you just because he wanted to did wonders for her self esteem and since it had been slowly dwindling it was a welcome change to the negative thoughts she kept having about him. It wasn't like she meant to have them mind you but they came and went...she just did not believe she was meant to be happy and when every aspect of her life went from bad to worse it was obvious why she thought it.
Her thoughts were soon broken however as Morrison led the woman out of his room and she used the moment to herself to slowly reach down and undo the straps that held her heeled shoes onto her feet and once they were undone dropped them to the side of the bed and flexed her toes slightly. That was better although she could do with changing her clothes into something a little more comfortable- they were great for fighting in but not sitting around in- and her eyes moved about the room in interest although she didn't dare get off the bed in fear of falling flat on her ass and because she simply wasn't rude enough to do so. Hell! He hadn't even been upgraded to drawer status yet so there was no way she was happy with going through his stuff...
Having been too interested in her immediate surroundings she didn't even hear what was going on outside the room and when he came back she almost jumped. “You feeling any better?” he asked as he moved to sit on the bed next to her and as he placed his hand onto her knee she was driven not to tell him the complete truth- that she didn't think Jeena was very good at her diagnosis of her and that she bloody hurt pretty much everywhere- not willing to let him worry.
"I'm fine," Woman's code for 'not fine at all but I'm not going to tell you that'. "Tired." She shifted so she could lean against the headboard since she wasn't sure how long she would be able to stay sitting upright thanks to her rather sore head. At least her voice wasn't as raspy as it had been but she didn't relish seeing the bruise tomorrow morning.
She paused and looked down at herself before looking back at him biting her lip once again. "Do you...have anything I can change into?" She gestured vaguely at herself as if that would explain why she was asking the question. She really didn't think he would appreciate her sitting about in these clothes- although she had no doubts that had it been any other situation he would have enjoyed her in the leather trousers and the top that vaguely resembled a corset thanks to the ties up the back...she needed to stop thinking about it. Now was not the time to be thinking about sex. "And can you help me get out of these?" Actually...should she mention she wasn't wearing a bra? Better not. Would be funny to see his face...
She sighed and reached up to run a hand through the tangled mess that was her hair and winced as she felt the bump on her scalp. Ow. That was not a clever thing to do... But it kept her mind off what she wanted to say and do. For some reason she really just wanted to curl up and hide from his anger but knew she would have to face it eventually so she might as well get it out of the way with.
She turned her face away from him. "I know you want to say something..." She trailed off not sure how to finish it since she didn't actually know what he was going to say or do but she didn't think she was going to enjoy the experience. At least then she would only have to listen to it once....providing he didn't tell Bert...

Morrison had to admit that Jeena hadn’t really done much to help, even if she had eliminated the fear that anything major was wrong with Lexi. It would have been nice to know about anything that might have been a problem in the short run, like the woman’s throat. She was breathing fine and he had the feeling that she could speak alright, but how bad would her bruises be? He hoped that they wouldn’t last more than a day or two or possibly be permanent. She was too pretty to have that sort of damage around her face and if he brought her back to the garage like that, Bert would try to kill him. He supposed that all he could do was to take care of her and make sure that she didn’t hurt herself anymore.
"I'm fine, tired."
With a frown, he squeezed her leg gently, very sure that she was lying, but he wasn’t going to push the subject, knowing well enough what was bothering her. She was in pain, upset over losing the fight and having to be rescued, and she probably didn’t like being in such an unfamiliar place. He wished this last part wasn’t so true, wanting to have had her over earlier and in a better situation. It would have been nice for it to be just the two of them in the huge apartment for one night, but that would have to be another time.
Sighing softly, the wolf turned to sit on the edge of the bed, looking over at Lexine. "Do you...have anything I can change into?" A tiny smile curled Morrison’s lips at this as he was forced to recognize what the woman was actually wearing. He had to ask her to wear one of her fight outfits over some other time. Tonight however, he did agree that it would be best if she was wearing anything that was less tight, revealing, enticing… With a soft shake of his head, he got up to move over to his closet where he might have something suitable.
"And can you help me get out of these?" The man turned around slightly to look at her then glanced down and back to the closet doors as he opened them. “Sure,” he muttered, pushing aside the suits that were hung up on the middle rack. He crouched down, reaching into the shelves on the floor where he kept a few of Meadhbh’s old clothes, though he hadn’t touched them in years, since it had been forever since she’d been away from home in need of a change. He supposed she wouldn’t need them anymore though. Trying to keep from being all emotional and sentimental about a few pieces of cloth, he found a pair of loose pajama pants and a tank top that looked like it would fit Lexi. His old friend had been a bit taller but this should suit the woman fine; she only had to spend the night in them. It didn’t occur to him that she might also have to go home in the same thing.
Morrison moved back over to the human, dropping onto the bed beside her again and placing the clothes at his hip. He reached out to start helping her with her shirt, but she wouldn’t look up at him, keeping her eyes down cast. "I know you want to say something..." Confused for a moment, he just stared at her. Was she talking about the clothes? No… Then it registered with him what she was referring to and his hands slowly lowered, clenching into loose fists. He had almost forgotten about his anger over the whole cage fighting business, but now that it was back in his mind, it was hard to keep it from consuming his thoughts.
“You’re an idiot,” he said simply, quietly. The wolf turned his eyes away from her to stare at the wall. “You could have died.” The quality in his voice changed with these words, becoming a bit harsher, louder, and yet it remained concerned. “and wouldn’t even know. I would’ve found out by seeing your name in the paper.” He lifted a hand to run it over his rough chin and then he looked back at Lexi with a scowl. “But you were too selfish, you didn’t even take one second to think about the people that cared about you, loved you. We don’t want to spend every waking moment worrying that you’re going to do something stupid and get yourself killed!” Closing his eyes, Morrison got to his feet, running his hand over his hair. “Do you know how much I’ve been worrying lately, about my own mortality even?” A soft growl escaped him and he turned to the side with his hand still on his forehead, glaring rather intently at the ground. “Fucking hell Lexi! I thought after that first night that this would all be so nice, that I’d have a girl to love and help and keep safe, but guess what? I can’t manage to get the last part right!” The wolf dropped his hand then kicked out at the wall in his frustration, creating a good sized crater in the dry wall with the toe of his boot. “You were supposed to make things easier, not more fucked up,” he muttered, grinding his teeth.

She knew as soon as he moved away from her and got too his feet that this was going to be one hell of a telling off and that she wasn't going to enjoy it one little bit...Actually she could tell that this was going to either make or break this whole relationship- she hoped it didn't ruin it but if he couldn't handle all of this then maybe it would be for the best.
“You could have died.”
Well, there was that. It had always been a possibility of course but she had always won before so why should this time have been any different? Apart from that cough of course...and the fact the man was more than twice the size of her hadn't helped either. As he mentioned that if she had died he would have read it in the paper she almost cracked a smile but she forced herself not to since she didn't think he would take it the right way but honestly, there was no way it would be in a paper! She would have been dumped along the side of some back road and forgotten...
Her amusement was short lived however as he called her selfish for fighting in the first place. Yes, she did it to relieve stress and because no matter what she still had that death wish but she didn't do it for herself in the long run...she did it so that she could win the money and do something good with it! Her hackles rose despite the rest of his words ringing true. She did make people worry but Bert had long since been used to it and it was only recently that she had any other reason to try and live...she wasn't able to break such a habit after such a short time.
"I don't do it for the money...." She started off with a soft mutter, an angry look passing over her face. She turned her head to look up at him before she got to her feet as well, slipping off the bed as she did so just as he was finishing his rant with “You were supposed to make things easier, not more fucked up,”.
That did it. Her own anger made her fingers clench into fists as she glared up into the eyes of the wolf. How dare he say such things to her! "You don't know anything!" She hissed although she was more than aware of how much her body wavered unsteadily thanks to the bump that still caused her head to pound. "You can't protect me from the world because the world doesn't want me safe! If it did I would never have fallen in love with you!" Her eyes widened slightly as once again words came out before her brain caught up.
Why the hell had she blurted that out? She had wanted to tell him that she used that money to help the kids who had no one else...that she knew how they felt to not have a family. More than anything she wanted to be the kind of girl that someone could be proud of but habits of a lifetime just didn't change straight away...especially not her habits. She chose now to direct her attentions elsewhere since her face had flushed bright red partly in anger and mostly in embarrassment.
Turning away from him she wrapped her arms around herself not wanting to look towards him anymore fearing that if she did she would either burst into tears or hit him and since neither of those sounded very good to her she chose to look away. "I told you you can't fix me...its only been a little while since we started whatever you call this," The one hand rose slightly to wave between the pair of them before placing it back where it had been before. "How could you possibly think this would be all sunshine and roses in such a small amount of time?" He could she have fallen in love in such a short time? This was all wrong...
"I should just...go..."

Whatever Lexi had been saying didn’t register in Morrison’s head, he was trying to hard to calm himself down. The girl didn’t deserve his yelling. He had needed to say the things he did, but they could have been better put in a quieter, kinder way, especially with what she had just been through. She was fast to recover and bounce back to her normal self, yet even so, there had to be some mental instability, with her being tired and in all that pain. Not that he now regretted yelling, he just had to stop from continuing to do so.
“...would never have fallen in love with you!"
Morrison only caught the last part of her sentence, but her words struck him hard. His hands that had been clenched into tight fists at his sides slowly relaxed and he dropped his head to stare at the ground, brow furrowing. He didn’t know what to make of her saying so outright that she loved him, it was not something he heard often, especially not from a person who would have every right to hate him. And it made him wonder. He loved her too, in a way, but to say so would only make what they were doing more dangerous. After a month he might be persuaded to say those three meaningful words, if they stayed together that long.
"I told you, you can't fix me...its only been a little while since we started whatever you call this," He would have said that he didn’t care what she thought, that he was going to get her better or wreck his life trying, but he was afraid that if he let that out, he’d bring up her cancer and tonight wasn’t the best night for that. Though he would have to tell her about it eventually, she needed help...
"How could you possibly think this would be all sunshine and roses in such a small amount of time?"
The wolf lifted his hands up to his face, covering his eyes, before dropping them with a frustrated sigh. “I didn’t,” he mumbled, mostly to himself, slowly turning to look at Lexi. He surveyed her with a slightly worried, slightly angered look, unsure what to do now. If he opened his mouth, nothing helpful would come out.
"I should just...go..."
“No,” he sighed, shoulders slumping. “you can’t go home like this.” And by ‘this’ he meant injured and pissed off at him, both of which he would like to see remedied before she was out of the apartment. “I shouldn’t have yelled at you, I’m sorry.” Morrison sighed again and gently ran a hand over the woman’s cheek, feeling the heat of her skin against his fingers. “I’m just really worried for you, alright?” His hand that was resting on Lexi’s cheek slid up to her hairline and pushed aside her pink curls so that he could see the bump on her temple. “At least I know I can fix this up,” he smiled to her, letting her hair back down after placing a kiss to her forehead. She’d had a pretty crappy evening, so the least he could do was to make her comfortable now.
Stepping away from Lexi and out of the room, the wolf made his way to the kitchen. He found the aspirin in one of the cabinets and then pulled down a cup to fill with water, thinking that it might help with the woman’s rough throat, though it might be difficult for her to swallow. He also brought out a kitchen towel and wrapped it around a few chunks of ice he got out of the freezer. As he brought these all back to his room, he briefly wondered if the human would really want to stay for the night. He supposed he hadn’t given her much choice in the matter, already assuming that she would, but she had suffered his company after saying much worse things.
Upon reentering his bedroom, Morrison moved slowly over to Lexi to place the items in his hands on the bedside table before taking a seat on the edge of the mattress and looking up at her. “You still want to change?” he asked, reaching over and grabbing up the pile of clothes. He held them up for her slightly, a questioning look in her eyes, not imposing or suggesting anything. He just wanted to help her at the moment, he’d help himself later. Even if helping her was letting her leave the apartment, he’d have to suck his pride and let her go.

Lexi was more than ready to pick up her shoes and run away...how could she have blurted out such a thing? It was just like before when she had told him she liked him as more than a 'casual acquaintance'. How could she have been so stupid! Why had she said it? The look on his face was almost funny if she didn't feel so crap about the whole thing and since he said nothing about what she had said she felt even worse. She felt humiliated. Unwanted. Stupid. She should never have opened her damn mouth...he must think her a very pathetic human for saying such a thing after such a small amount of time! Yet she couldn't help the feeling that washed over her when she saw him, the butterflies that came when he turned up at her door and the pain as he left again. She hated this man yet loved him. Why couldn't things be simple?
“I’m just really worried for you, alright?”
His hand was against her cheek and against her will her eyes closed slightly as she welcomed the touch. It didn't matter that they were both pissed off over the whole evening and that she had said something she more than regretted having seen no reaction...all that mattered was that he cared and he was still willing to touch her and perhaps even hold her. Or maybe not...his hand moved up to her hairline and as he brushed the locks back to look at the bump on her head she gave a small hiss in pain. Ok. Still sore.
“At least I know I can fix this up,” Please tell her he meant some sort of pain killer! Although having been addicted to prescription drugs at one point it was probably not the best idea in the world to take anything like that but she had been clean (of those anyway) for years so she should be fine. Hopefully. She should be fine...
As he left the room she looked after him before giving a deep sigh, bringing her hands up to her face, covering her eyes before moving them up and brushing her hair away from her face- making sure not to touch the bump- collapsed back down onto the bed. "Fuck," She swore under her breath trying to get a hold of herself, berating the fact she was being such an idiot. Why was this happening now? It had been so good to start with and now...she didn't know where she stood with the man and she hated that feeling. She knew she had been insane for falling into bed with a wolf. "I'm such an idiot."
As she got back to her feet Morrison came back into the room armed with a glass of water and what she assumed to be ice. Ice was better than pain killers! As he placed the items onto the bedside table she thought about what she was going to do. Was she going to stay the night? She had been waiting for some time to get a chance to see his place but these circumstances were not the best and she was tempted to just leave. Except she wasn't sure if she really wanted to. Damn her for being so confusing!
He sat on the bed and offered the bundle of clothing to her, “You still want to change?”. Did she? She was feeling very self conscious again but that was probably because she was still feeling like an idiot for her comment earlier. Whilst it was true it hadn't settled with her.
Finally she inclined her slightly, "Sure," She moved towards the bedside table and picked up the glass and then the aspirin before popping into her mouth and taking a gulp of water, wincing as she did so. Ok, that didn't go down well at all but at least it would help with some of the pain...she would just have to make sure she didn't ask for any more, not willing to tempt fate with her past addiction. As she turned about to look at him once again, her fingers had slipped into the towel, picking up a lump of ice and once she was fully facing him had pressed the cube against her throat where it hurt the most.
Oh that felt sinfully good.... Her eyes closed slightly as she rubbed the cold solidified liquid over the bruise that was starting to appear and revelled in how much it seemed to sooth the pain. The pain killers were good for taking the pain away but they did tend to take some time to kick in.
Finally she sat next to him, turning her body and using her free hand to pull her hair over her shoulder so he could get to the ties that kept the top on her body. "Please," She mumbled before she gave a small shiver thanks to the cube starting to melt over her neck and fingers.

Morrison was rather proud of himself for how he had managed to handle the whole situation. The only thing he’d harmed had been the wall, which was easy enough to repair, and he hadn’t even laid a hand on Lexi. Well, in a violent way that was. What really surprised him was that he was able to keep his thoughts in his head and that he didn’t have the urge to say a thing concerning them. The way the woman was reacting to him now helped. Although, it could be that he was going soft, not that he’d ever want to admit that.
The wolf set the pile of clothes on his lap as Lexi moved to grab up the cup and take a few aspirin. He was unsure if the mild pain killers would really work for her, but at least she seemed to find relief in pressing the ice to her skin. She could sleep with a cold towel around her neck if she needed to, though he would be glad if she didn’t because she’d be more comfortable without it and then she’d be getting his pillows all wet, not that this should matter.
Scooting back a little as Lexine sat down, Morrison smiled over to her softly, letting himself appreciate her outfit for a moment. His eyes shifted a little ways down when she turned her back to him and he quickly looked back up to the back of her neck. "Please," With another smile, the man repositioned his body so that he could reach her back easier. “Of course,” he told her, reaching out and undoing the bow at the bottom of her shirt. He then started to tug at the laces, moving a hand around to her stomach to hold her in place. When the back of her shirt was completely undone, he held it on her for a moment, leaning down and pressing his lips to her shoulder. He let a breath brush over her skin before pulling away and dragging the top off of her.
As much as he liked Lexi without a shirt on, he wasn’t going to leave her torso naked. “Lift your arms up,” he muttered, taking the shirt off his lap. When she’d put her arms over her head, he pulled the top onto her, straightening it out once the fabric had settled onto her skin. It was hard to keep himself from thinking that the t-shirt had been Meadhbh’s and that she wouldn’t appreciate him letting another girl borrow it, but as long as kept his eyes on Lexi’s familiar pink hair and around her face, he should be fine.
“Need any help with the pants?” he asked her, pushing her hair back over neck and out of her way. “They look sort of tight.” Morrison didn’t mean this in any sort of suggestive way, it was just an observation and he was glad that this sort of comment wouldn’t earn him a slap in the face anymore. It might actually earn him a kiss on the cheek, which he would happily accept.

As Morrison shifted behind her, Lexi moved what was left of the ice around her throat, trying hard not to shiver as she did so. That still felt wonderful but it was rather cold and she didn't think she would be able to bear another go. Once the cube had melted she brought the fingers up to her mouth and lightly licked away the damp before her mind and body became hyper aware of the man as his arm wrapped around her stomach and as he pulled at the ties of her top her stomach tensed slightly. It didn't matter what had happened, his touch still set her on fire....
...Even more so when she felt the kiss on her shoulder as he finally got the top undone and as his lips pressed against her suddenly very hot skin she couldn't help but shudder slightly as his breath danced over her skin. He shouldn't do things like that! She didn't dare look over her shoulder at him in fear he would see the desire that had flared up in her eyes. He brought out the worst in her sometimes...and she blamed him for it entirely! As he pulled the top away from her, her skin prickled slightly as the slight chill in the air hit her properly and the shiver that came from her this time was because of that not because of him.
“Lift your arms up,”
She had to bite her tongue to stop herself from telling him in not so pleasant words that she was not a little child and that she could put the top on herself but refrained from doing so since she really didn't want to get into another argument tonight...the anger from before was still fresh and she didn't want something setting it off again. So she raised her arms into the air slightly, just enough for him to slip the t shirt over her head. Once it was on however and she tilted her head slightly to inspect it, a slight frown passing over her lips. This looked distinctly female and a flare of hot jealousy invaded her for a good few moments. Why did he have another woman's top in his room? She hoped to anything that might still be watching over her that it didn't belong to a past girlfriend...she didn't think her ego would suffer such a blow. God, she hoped he had more sense than that...
“Need any help with the pants?” The frown that had crossed her face was replaced by a small smile and as he finished with “They look sort of tight.” it had turned into a small smirk. She knew he hadn't meant it as it sounded since it was completely devoid of the usual lust and desire that tended to drop into his voice. Actually, that was probably a bad thing...Should she be worried that he had no such feeling towards her tonight? Was it bad that now that they had 'finished' their fight she craved his touch? She wasn't sure how he would react to it after everything that had happened but she wanted to try anyway.
She turned her head slightly, allowing him to see the small amused smile on her lips before twisting around completely. "You are such a pervert...." Now that she was retired she might as well start wearing these clothes for him...although she hoped to god that he would actually do something the next time he saw her dressed like this. Men! Her head tilted to the side as if she were considering something before she shook it slightly with a sigh. "I guess its a good thing your my pervert." The 'for now' was unspoken but she might as well have shouted it. No matter what happened she couldn't help but feel like it was all going to fall down around her ears...she couldn't help it mind you, she was just emotionally stunted.
She lent forwards and captured his lips with her own, not willing to let the opportunity pass her by since she didn't really know if she would get another chance. Her kiss was needy, firm and not a bit like the ones she usually started with- the ones where she wasn't sure what the hell she was doing- thanks to her being so self conscious. As she pulled away she licked her lips slightly wetting them before she spoke once more.
"Its not everyday I get rescued by a large Irish wolf....my hero." It only came out a little sarcastic by the end of it but that was because she was still bitter at being called selfish...and for losing. She meant nothing by it however and hoped he wouldn't take it the wrong way...
