Deep, dark brown eyes looked around the area, a look of distaste crossing the facial features of the pale man that lurked through this despicable area. He couldn't believe some humans would actually choose to live in a place like this. Truth was, he had been informed that there was a laboratory somewhere in the outskirts of London where a so called "cure" was being created. This cure was, to say the least, rather important to all vampyres that wished to rise to power.
The pale man walked gracefully and carefully through the area which he seemed to find utterly filthy and disgusting.
But yet, he carried on, searching for, no, not the lab, but what had escaped it. You see, about a month ago there was news, somewhere through the vines of communication, that the only survivor of this so called "cure" had escaped. This he had found out from someone that he knew inside the lab, someone that had been planted there long ago as a source of significant information, human or not. Now, he was on his way to this human informants house. Gathering as much information as he could about this escaped lab rat would prove helpful.
He figured it would be better if he got to the man before the wolves did. This was all something he had to do in his mind. The boy seemed know something. Something... valuable. Besides, he had heard that the boy originated from the same country he did.
But still, more information was needed, and this would take time. After all, human informants were still rather afraid of the vampyres they served. The house was in his view, a small light lit on the front porch. The man blew it out as he approached. A soft rap on the door was all it took. The human was there in a heart beat, looking around cautiously as he let the vampyre into his house.
"Ah! I thought you might have been... someone else..." The human stuttered out.
"A wolf perhaps? Or another vampyre of the underground? You know much, my friend. But I work for someone with a lot of power, you are rather aware of that. Now. Tell me what I came to know." The vampyre responded, his thick Russian accent taking over his words.
"Y-yes. He was brought in about 10 years ago and immediately under went the starting stages of the drug we were developing... We saw that once he survived the initial tests, that we could implant him with the blood of a wolf. He survived that as well. We all anxiously awaited the first full moon, and sure enough, he did exactly what none of us had been expecting. He didn't shift. We were expecting the opposite and that he would die from it, but... He seemed to be the only one that the drug worked on. We continued to test him extensively, trying to work out the bugs and such of the newly developed serum."
"What exactly was this drug supposed to do?" Cristian asked, keeping his voice low so any surrounding vampyres wouldn't hear.
"It was inevitably supposed to reverse the effects of the Werewolf virus. They were trying to develop one to get rid of the vampyres too, but that was even more unsuccessful than the wolven one."
"How were you being funded for all of this?" Cristian asked, he knew it had to be rather expensive.
"I don't know. Groups of wolves, and groups of vampyres funded it all I suppose. All I know was they were each involved in the making, and attempted shut down of the other "cures"."
Cristian pondered all of that for a minute. "So. This boy was the only one that this cure seemed to work on. Are they still testing it on others?"
The man nodded. "And all of the others failed too. We think that maybe it's a component of the boy's blood. We need to find him before the wolves do. If they find him, they could easily test the anti-vampyrism drug on him as well and that could possibly kill him. Or they would just kill him to get rid of the only capable cure."
Cristian nodded. The man handed him a file folder and dipped his head. "All of the information should be in there. You are the first one to come looking for him, there for the information is yours. Guard it well..."
!@#$%^&*(-) (time skippy thingy for those that don't know me well))
A sigh escaped the thin lips of the male as he sat at his desk with all of the curtains drawn. On this desk he had a file. This file was the one he had retained from the man exactly a week ago.
"Damnit. There's no hints in here whatsoever." He sighed and closed the file, staring up at his ceiling. He knew there would have to be something. Something somewhere that would give him a hint as to the boy's location. He had to find him, and quickly. There was no need to let this precious child to get killed by the wolves. Besides, they needed his blood didn't they?
Cristian sighed. It was going to be a long night yet again of searching for this child...
