Lexi had moved so that her face was no longer pressed into the mattress, her near silent mutterings coming to a halt since this was obviously not an illusion and Bert was stood in her room glaring at the man who had up until recently been in the bed with her. She sat up slowly as she watched Morrison reach down for his underwear and as he pulled them on she pulled the sheet up to cover her as she eyed the two men, wondering which one was going to crack first. Why was this happening now?
“You could at least leave so she could get dressed,”
A small shiver ran through her and she had to keep herself from showing how that comment had affected her...not in a bad way as much as a very good way. She had never really noticed Morrison's accent before but apparently when he was angry it came out a lot thicker than usual..and like many women she found it a very sexy one...and added to that growl it went straight to her nether regions. Not that now was any sort of good time to be finding that out! Really really not the best time...
Bert meanwhile was looking from Lex to Morrison and back again until his eyes eventually landed on the man and watched as his hands clenched and unclenched. Now Bert was a pretty big bloke and there was very little that scared him thanks to growing up in a rough area and Morrison did not scare him...what did was the look in his charge's eyes as she glared at him from beneath her hair. Which was why he chose to look at the man...it was easier to be angry at him than at her! At Morrison's words however he took a step back, turned and moved into the sitting area where he sank down into the sofa, leaving the curtain open ever so slightly although it wasn't like he wouldn't hear them anyway.
Lexi crawled over to the side of the bed and leaning over the side fished underneath for the dressing gown she usually kept under there and once she got her hands on it was on her feet and pulling it on if only to keep Bert from seeing more skin than she was happy him seeing (because that would just be gross). She left the gown open as she moved to stand next to the seething Morrison and despite being slightly terrified of the angry wolf she still wrapped her arms around his waist trying to distract him from her guardian.
"Don't," Her voice was soft although she knew Bert would be listening out for them anyway...but she could pretend he didn't hear anything she was going to say. "He doesn't know...it was a bad choice of words..." She did not want Morrison tearing apart the only family she had left- even if the man wasn't family by blood- so she had to get him to understand that it had not been a racist comment...besides she was the 'racist' in this apartment and that had seemingly gone out of the window last night.
She pulled back slightly and lifted the one hand so she could rest it against Morrison's cheek before tip toeing slightly so she could kiss him, trying to distract him from his anger. she was angry too but it was a bit late to do anything about it now and Bert would have found out eventually...a bit sooner than she would have liked but it was getting it out of the way...
As she pulled back from the kiss she frowned up at him although it was more of a pout than anything. "You shouldn't have such a sexy accent..." She muttered before moving away completely and pulled the robe close so she could move towards Bert.
"Play nice." She glared at Bert blaming him completely for ruining her high. "I'm going to have a shower..." She looked between them before she moved towards the bathroom. "You fight I will hurt you." She warned the pair of them as she disappeared inside and making her way to the shower...
Bert turned in his seat to look at the man who had taken what was left of Lex's innocence. He had always told himself that no matter what he would always put her happiness first but found that now that it was before him he just couldn't let it slide- this man had taken her virtue and by god Bert was not happy with the situation...especially since he was still convinced Morrison was the reason why she had been in the hospital. Also no one was good enough for that girl. She deserved the bloody world and moon and then some and he was not convinced this man could do that.
"What the hell do you think your playing at?" He demanded, "So help me god if I found you've forced her into this...this..." He couldn't even say it! "What are your intentions towards her?" He finally demanded.

While Morrison’s heartbeat and mind were racing at the moment, he stared at the OldMan steadily, not even daring to blink if he could help it. He could tell that he wasn’t scaring the man, even as intimidating as he imagined he looked, but that was alright. If the human did try something, thinking that the other man wasn’t a huge threat, then he’d show him what he was capable of, to the point where he wouldn’t be permanently disabled, for Lexine’s sake. He was very glad that all of this was avoided when the older man (at least in looks) turned to leave the two, going to sit in the living room.
Although the OldMan was now out of the immediate vicinity, the wolf had a hard time containing himself. He was frustrated, very frustrated, and still fuming over the ‘paws’ comment. He never got used to peoples’ racism, he was plain sick of it. He’d gotten over his ‘thing’ toward vampires, and one of them had fucking killed his friend of 100 years, so anyone else should be able to get over hating wolves because they’d eaten a few hobos.
Morrison was pulled out of his thoughts when he suddenly felt Lexine wrapping her arms around him, her skin pressing hotly into his. "Don't," He turned his eyes downward to look at her and let out a deep, huffing sigh, forcing his shoulders to relax. "He doesn't know...it was a bad choice of words..." Bad was an understatement. The wolf shut his eyes tight, taking a few deep breaths as he tried to get his body to relax a little bit because if he kept up like this, especially with clenching his teeth, he’d have a migraine sized headache in a few minutes.
His eyes opened slightly when he felt the woman’s hand press against his cheek and he actually felt a bit of tension leave him when her lips pressed to his, distracting him from the bastard that sat in the other room. "You shouldn't have such a sexy accent..." Morrison couldn’t help but smile for the shortest of seconds at this, glad that the OldMan’s interruption hadn’t ruined her view about him. He was still this strong, sexy, Irish, wolf to her and that was how he wanted to keep it.
The sort of calm that had settled over him sort of went away with Lexi and he watched her leave the room before following her through the curtain, not even bothering to get more clothes on. If the OldMan had a problem with him in just his underwear, he’d just have to deal with it; he was comfortable this way. "Play nice." Morrison grumbled a little about not being a toddler at this, crossing his arms and staring at Mercy as she walked off to take a shower. "You fight I will hurt you." Well, that he actually sort of believed, though he had the feeling that she’d hurt the other man more than him.
"What the hell do you think your playing at?"
Morrison turned to glare at the human, biting the inside of his cheek to keep from grinding his teeth together. "So help me god if I found you've forced her into this...this..." The wolf lifted his eyebrows slightly at this, questioning, warning. Did he really think that he’d forced Lexi to do anything? If he had, she wouldn’t be very willingly kissing and snuggling him this morning. Idiot...
"What are your intentions towards her?"
It was a fair enough question, but it still struck Morrison’s nerve. The way he asked it made him feel like the boyfriend of some teenage girl’s overprotective father. And perhaps the two human’s relationship was like that, but Lexi was an adult and the wolf was 200 years old, not some teenage punk. Yet, he kept his head straight and didn’t start yelling at the man. Before he answered him however, he took a seat in a chair a bit a ways from the man, leaning forward and resting his elbows on his knees.
“I’m trying to help her,” he said at last, looking down at the ground. “if you haven’t noticed, she isn’t the happiest person, and she needed something, someone, better in her life.” Morrison kept his eyes on the ground, not wanting to see the man’s reaction in case his words struck the human in the wrong way. He knew he wasn’t the best with his words, but he tried as hard as he could.

Lex had left the door to the bathroom open so she could keep an ear out on the two men- she wasn't really willing to leave the two alone for any sort of extended period of time knowing full well that Bert was very protective of her, not that she could blame him since she was all he had left...and he was all she had left (she didn't know if she could count Morrison in with that just yet). Tipping her head back under the water her eyes closed and a soft sigh escaped her lips as the warm water soaked her skin and helped ease her poor aching muscles. Oh that felt good...The small moan that came from her this time attested to the fact and she wondered briefly in the back of her mind if Morrison's ears were that good...she hoped not, she didn't want him taking the moan the wrong way!
Bert meanwhile had watched as the man sat down opposite him and although he didn't approve of the semi naked man he didn't have much choice in the matter. As Morrison leaned forward he leaned back, his arms crossed over his chest as he tried to stare down the wolf although he didn't seem to be having much luck with it.
“I’m trying to help her,”
Well, that had not been what he expected the man to say. Help her? Was that what it was called these days? From where he had stood it looked awfully like sex and since he had known Lex since forever he still believed that she had to have been talked into the act...she never willingly went along with anything, especially not when it came to being touched by other people.
“if you haven’t noticed, she isn’t the happiest person, and she needed something, someone, better in her life.”
Bert was well aware that Lex was not happy. He could honestly say he had never seen the girl smile or laugh since she had been just a little kid...and nothing had come close to cracking her tough exterior since her family had been murdered- which led him to believe that this man was not doing it to help her, no, this man must have been doing it to help himself. He seemed the type to get what he wanted when he wanted it.
"And what, you think your that person?" His voice was demanding and the scowl on his face hadn't even disappeared since he had walked in on the pair. Maybe he was just jealous that the man before him had been able to get close to the girl he loved like his own daughter...he had never been able to get close to her no matter how hard he tried. "What makes you think you could make her happy?" He did not approve! The man was older than her for a start, had probably been the reason why she had been in that hospital and quite frankly he did think of her as his daughter and no man would ever be good enough for her. Even if he did want her to be happy...he just wasn't convinced that this man could do it.
Lex had finished in the shower and had stepped back into the bedroom area with only a towel wrapped tightly around her. She looked through the gap in the curtain quickly- just to make sure that they hadn't killed each other- before moving to the chest of drawers where she pulled out a pair of skinny denim jeans and a loose t shirt. Tossing them onto the very tussled bed she began to dry herself, well aware that both men would be able to see her get dressed but trusting Bert at least not to look at her as she did so...Morrison she wasn't so convinced...
Once she was dry enough she pulled on a clean set of underwear and then wiggled into her jeans before finally pulling her top on which was a little looser than she remembered and it fell of the one shoulder showing off the black strap of her bra. Finally she grabbed the towel and began to towel dry her hair until she was sure it was dry enough not to drip water everywhere. Since she never wore makeup for work she didn't have to worry about that and was soon padding her way into the sitting room where she stood and watched the two men for only a moment before she was distracted by the two cats who were on one of the kitchen counters.
The cats knew full well that Morrison was not human and had spent the entire conversation as far away from him as possible...which was why they were both staring at him from the somewhat safety of the worktop, their tails flicking in the air angrily. Like any feline they didn't get on well with the canine variety and the wolf was no different. They soon stopped staring at him when Lexi came over to give them their breakfasts... Lex on the other hand was glad to have something to do, if only to keep her busy for a little while although it didn't last nearly long enough and it wasn't long before she had to turn back to the two of them.
She didn't dare get too close to the pair of them, thinking that if she stood closer to one instead of the other they would take it the wrong way...If she stood by Bert then Morrison would get all Wolfy about it and if she stood by Morrison then Bert would get pissed. Which was why she stood in the middle of them, her right hand rubbing her left arm slightly as she tried to work out what she was going to do.

Morrison glanced up at the sound of the shower being turned on, wondering for a second why the sound was so clear before realizing that Lexine had left the bathroom door ajar. He supposed that she would want to hear if the two started to fight, but what would she do if they did? It wasn’t as if she was going to run out here, dripping wet and naked. That thought made the wolf’s blood stir a little bit and he had to look back to the ground, biting his lip to keep his feelings in check. He wished the OldMan could have decided to barge half an hour later because Morrison’s body was not appreciating being denied the woman’s touch right now, which was making it even harder to stay in his seat.
"And what, you think your that person?"
The man lifted his eyes to look at the human and sat up straight, thinking that his slouching wasn’t making a good impression, not that his lack of clothes was helping either. “Yes, I do,” he said, staring at the other man, daring him to contradict him. Morrison knew that him and making people happy usually didn’t go together, but when he wanted he could be sweeter than anything. He’d actually been able to surprise himself with how kind he was to Lexi and how well they had gotten along, which was very, very well, obviously.
"What makes you think you could make her happy?"
Well, that was a good question. Morrison was known to go into rages, it was how most people came developed any sort of relationship with him, even if it wasn’t a healthy one. He didn’t know why this was so different with Lexine, but it was, and he was glad for it. After a few moments, he’d come up with something to say, yet he was distracted from actually saying it when the bathroom door opened. The wolf looked over to see the woman in a towel. He watched her pull out a new set of clothes, but he immediately looked away when she dropped the towel, not needing to be reminded of her body.
He instead turned his eyes to the OldMan, finding that this sight made him angry over anything else, and that was better than other things. “I don’t know,” he muttered, “but I do know I can.” He glanced over at Lexi again, seeing that she was mostly clothed now. “Last night, she couldn’t stop smiling, this morning either.” His expression grew slightly tender at this, remembering mostly just laying with the woman in his arms. Unfortunately, it soon left him as his thoughts turned back to the man, though his face didn’t take on as sour of a look as he’d had before.
Sighing, Morrison reached up and ran a hand through his hair, thinking of what else to say to get this man to believe that he wasn’t hurting his niece, if she really was that. “I never forced her into anything,” he said, even as the topic of their conversation walked past to go tend to the cats sitting in the kitchen. Why did the girls he tried to help always have cats? No, it didn’t matter; he had things to think of other than damn felines. “She initiated everything.” He looked down at his hands. “And that’s not a bad thing, shows she’s independent.”
Having talked himself into silence, Morrison glanced up at the human before getting to his feet. He had to get dressed, since he was now wearing the least amount of clothes among the three of them. Without excusing himself, figuring that it’d be clear where he was going, he moved through the curtain to the bed, picking up his clothes from around its base then pulling them on as quickly as he could. Still pulling his shirt back into place, he walked back into the living room, finding that Lexi was now done with whatever task she’d been at. Not sure what to say or do now, he looked over at the woman, wondering silently what she thought of all of this. She had known the other human much, much longer than she’d known Morrison but it was as if they were both equally high in her regard.

“but I do know I can.”
Bert was not convinced that Morrison was capable of helping the girl. Nor was he convinced the other was doing it out of the goodness of his heart...in fact he was more than ready to believe that Morrison was only pretending to care about the women so he could get into her bed and then once this was all over he believed he would be picking up the pieces once Lexi realised the man was never coming back for her. Bert couldn't bear the thought of Lex falling apart again, the first time a year ago had been enough to give him nightmares. He would never forget the look on her face when she had turned up on his doorstep. No. He would do anything to prevent that from happening...
“I never forced her into anything,”
Again, he didn't believe Morrison at all. Bert was convinced the man didn't need to force anyone into anything...he was one of those people who seemed able to talk people into doing what they wanted. And as Lex came back into the room fully dressed he kept his retort from leaving his lips knowing full well that she was not happy about the whole business...but then again it was a common occurrence for the two of them to clash over different things. He wanted the best for her and a consequence of that was he was always going over this place and taking away her drugs and booze- it didn't stop her for long but he honestly thought he was doing the right thing for her.
Lex meanwhile was looking from one to the other and as Morrison suddenly got to his feet and stalked off towards the bedroom for what she could only assume were his clothes she turned to her guardian with a black look on her face.
"How could you?" She hissed as she stalked closer to him, a deep scowl on her face. "Why couldn't you have knocked?" Why couldn't he have given her warning that he was there instead of just barging in like he had? Although she knew the answer...Bert had never had to knock before since he had seen her in every state possible so why was he going to start now? She didn't even give him the time to answer before she was pointing to the door. "Get out...I'll be down in a minute..." Her voice was soft, but cold and she watched as Bert left the apartment.
As soon as he had closed the door behind him she turned to Morrison, the angry look melting away as she looked at him. Her hand moved to rub at her arm once again, biting at her lip as she did so.
"I'm sorry.." Her voice was so very quiet but it seemed to echo in the too loud room. She didn't know what to say to the wolf...What did one say to someone you had slept with and then have your guardian barge in on? She felt humiliated that it had gone so very wrong after a (near) perfect night and she wasn't sure what to do about it. Did she go to him and kiss him? Hug him? Did she ask him to come back again or did she just leave it as it was? She wished she knew what to do!
She glanced back at the door where she knew that Bert was waiting for her downstairs and hated him for it all over again...This wasn't fair! But she was felt far too old to go about acting like a child and she wasn't going to even dignify it with stamping her foot. She sighed and looked back at Morrison.
"What now?"

Morrison was glad to be out of the room while Lexi was telling the OldMan off, not wanting it to seem like he was the only reason he was doing so. The other man probably didn't even think that he could hear them, although he could tell perfectly what the woman was hissing. He agreed completely with her every word, so he supposed he could just leave it at that. He didn't say anything either when he moved back over to the two, keeping his eyes downcast as Mercy told the man to get out, clear anger in her voice. He expected the human to retaliate, but he went quietly, if not a bit huffy.
Even when the door shut, the wolf stood in place, biting the inside of his lip to keep his temper down. Only, when he looked up to the girl standing in front of him, he let out a deep sigh, unable to stay angry looking at that face. "I'm sorry..." Morrison's shoulders slumped and he glanced away, hurt by the sound in her voice and knowing that he couldn't do anything to help it. Her damn guardian had ruined a perfect morning and there was no getting it back.
A little while passed before Lexi finally spoke back up. "What now?"
Letting loose another sigh, the wolf looked over the woman and then moved up to her, carefully pulling her into his arms. He hugged her for a second before pushing her away so that he could lean down and place a kiss on her lips. "I think I should go," he said a little regretfully. "Me staying here is only going to make matters worse." Not willing to let her out of his grip just yet, he held her on the spot, pressing his forehead to hers before he slowly moved his hands off of her and stepping back.
"Here," he said, pulling his wallet from his jeans' pocket, "you can call me whenever you need to." He brought out a folded over and very worn looking business card then handed it over to her. It was one of his old ones before he'd switched his business phone to a land line so that people couldn't call him when he was out somewhere.
Morrison slowly put his wallet back, disappointed that he hadn't gotten to use that other condom. Some other time then... "I'll see you again soon Lexi," he told her before leaning down and pressing his lips firmly to hers. His hand started to creep up to slip into his hair, but he stopped himself, quickly pulling away and sighing. He didn't ever like to say goodbye when he left people and so he simply pecked her again on the lips before turning and leaving so that he wouldn't be tempted to stay. They'd be back at the bed again if he did...
