Looking down at the mangled human body Lew just sighs. Another night another attack on a human by a vampire or werewolf. One night, that's all he asks. One night where nothing happens and he doesn't get called out to deal with cleaning up the remains of some poor soul who wasn't fast enough or smart enough to get away. His team has mostly cleared away the mess, the cold not helping any but it does make them work that little bit faster just so they can hurry up and get back to the AV head quarters where there is some kind of warmth away from this London chill. The worst thing about the cold is the havock it plays on Lew's hip and knee. Ever since the operation on his leg to put the plates and screws in whenever it's cold they go stiff and act up and this makes his limp all the more noticeable which is why he tends to stay indoors when it's cold unless he really as to go out... Like tonight.
Frowning a little Lew pulls his trench coat further around himself, like it would make any difference. For a moment his mind goes back to about six months ago when he had seen a young girls brother get mauled before her very eyes. There was nothing he could have done at the time to stop it, sure he was armed what he wasn't about to go up against a vampire in the middle of it feeding.
That night his team had been called out to clean up the mess the vampire had made of Cecily's brother. He had seen her for a moment when they arrived, after a few of his team went in first in case the body had been planted as a trap. He hadn't bothered to try to make any contact with her, but he had stayed still long enough for her to catch a look at his face just in case she ever did see him again.
Scuffing the toe of his boot against the snow Lew looks around at his team. "We almost done here?". It wasn't really a question as such, more of an order disguised as a question. Of course the teams hurries up, unwilling to annoy their boss when he is already in an unpleasant mood. An hour later and the body is gone. The blood has been cleaned from the walls and the ground, there is no sign that there had ever even been a body bleeding here. He smiles a little, pleased and motions for the team to leave and telling them that he would be back later, he felt like spending some time out tonight even if his hips and knee do ache.

Holy eff, it's freezing. Cecily thought to herself. What had possesed her when she got dressed, exactly? She wasn't entirely sure. Looking down at her black skinny jeans and converse, she crossed her arms over her chest and shivered, wishing she wasn't wearing a sleeveless tee shirt. She didn't even have a hoodie or anything to go over it. She was too far away from her brother's- or rather, her apartment. It couldn't be kain's anymore. Kain was gone. Kain had been gone for six months. The lease holder's name was now hers, and she was paying for the damn apartment herself using the money kain had left. She had to get a job soon or else she wouldn't be able to pay for it anymore. Eff. That meant she would have to be up for most of the day. Her days were spent sleeping and her nights walking around the city. It wasn't the smartest thing to do, but she would rather be sleeping when she knew a vampire couldn't tear her throat out. She would much rather be alert and alive when she wnet face to face with a vampire, preferably the one that had killed her brother. It was completely crazy. She had no idea how to kill a vampire, but she figured if any of the stories were right (you know, Dracula and all that nonsense) then wood tipped bullets would probably be a good idea to have. That was what she had in the small gun she found in Kain's room. She had absolutely no idea how to use the bloody thing, but she would rather have that than nothing. No matter how hard she looked, she had yet to find the damn bloodsucker that killed Kain. She knew exactly what it looked like. Though certain details were a little fuzzy, that one was not.
Cecily could remember most the entire night from start to finish. The middle was a little fuzzy. She hadn't remembered who's idea it was to go get the damn ice cream, but it was probably hers. Kain was the more responsible one, the one who wouldn't go out at night just to get something as silly as ice cream. She remembered Kain telling her to run, and how hard it was to run in the shoes she had been wearing, not to mention the sundress she had on. She remembered having the moment of semi bravery when she decided she was going to help Kain if she could. By that time she was too late... She remembered the people that had come to clean up, the ones who barely saw that she was there. She was just sort of something in the way, something they had to move around. As soon as they had cleaned up, they had just left her there. She probably just looked like a silly girl in a yellow sundress and jet black curls who was crying over someone that died. They didn't know who Kain was or how close they were. The didn't know, and they didn't care. She was just someone that had lost someone they loved or knew, much like every other bloody human in London. There was only one guy who had stayed behind a few seconds longer. From what she could tell, he had to be the leader of the team or something. She remembered his face too, but she had never asked his name.
Shaking her head, Cecily walked around the streets. She had to stop reliving that night. Pushing a hand through her shorter black hair, she looked around to see where her feet had taken her. When she turned a corner she saw blood and a body. That was enough. She pressed herself against the wall of one of the buildings and closed her eyes. She still hated the sight of dead bodies. To this day, she always saw Kain's face on them. A cold chill ran down the length of her spine, and she knew it had nothing to do with the tempurature. She peaked her head around the corner to see what was going on. There were people cleaning up, the same people that were there when Kain had died. Then she heard the voice. It was the same voice from that night. Cecily slowly came around the corner, once she thought they were gone (they were) and looked around for the voice. Tilting her head, she studied the face of the man that was left, the one wearing a trench coat and smiling about something. Yep, that was him. Walking toward him slowly, Cecily kept a hand on her hip, near the pocket with her gun. "I know you." She said, almost not recognizing her own voice. It was a lot harsher than it had been six months ago, and she had rarely talked in those six months. "You were there the night my brother was killed." She said, waiting for this guy to answer.

As the cars leave Lew gives them a quick wave if it could be called that as it was more of just a hand movement in their general direction. Another night another body it would never end as long as those creatures existed. The werewolves could campain and suck up to the people of London all they wanted but it wouldn't change Lew's mind, they're animals simple as they and vampires are parasites living off of humanity, unable to sustain themselves without humans around. The 'vegetarian' vampires he trusted the least; living off animal blood. Sure they might keep them happy for a while but sooner or later they'd have to snap and go for some human blood.
The wind has stopped for now so at least it's not as cold. Still chilly but not as freezing as it had been with the wind. Ah he was going to regret staying out tonight, tomorrow morning his hip is going to be stiff as a board. Gritting his teeth Lew puts up with the mild discomfort for now and starts walking slowly, a slight limp in his steps. "I know you. You were there the night my brother was killed".
His walk is stopped by someone addressing him. He looks forwards thinking about just going on and ignoring the voice but slowly he turns to face whoever it is talking to him. What a surprise it is for Lew to see her standing there, last time he'd seen her Cecily was bawling her eyes out, he had suspected she had known the man who had been murdered by the vampires. He sighs softly. "Yeah I was there. And I know you saw us there cleaning up. That was six months ago I was thinking that I'd never see you again. It seems that sooner or later you run into someone you know in this city". Lew walks, limps, towards her. "What are you doing round here anyway? Looking for someone or just bored and looking for something to do... Or do in?".
