† Personality †
Basic Personality:
no one ever expected much out of cecily. when she was growing up she was always sweet and nice and did as she was told. she was the innocent one, the one in need of protection. she was so into art and music and photgraphy, and was the nicest person. she loved computers and was good at fixing them and doing all kinds of things with them, but never had a chance to use them at all. violence was never the answer for her, and she preferred to use words to settle things. she never touched a drink, was deathly afraid of anything that would harm her and wouldn't even look at a gun for too long. seeing kain with them scared her, and she begged him not to be violent and put himself out there. she knew about the wolves and the vampires, but didn't have a problem. they were who they were, and it wasn't their choice to be what they were. as long as they kept out of her way and minded their own business, she could do the same and live her life. and then she changed completely.
once a vampire killed her brother, there was no other alternative to violence. it had to be the answer. she had to kill anything that came in her path. as much as she still loved the fine arts, they became something to put on the back burner. she started getting a lot more into computers, and how she could use them to her advantage. she quickly learned how to hack into one and started doing that more than anything, hoping to be able to get into that group her brother was in because of it. she learned to use a gun and fight, mostly because it was her brother's wish that she would be able to protect herself. she became a lot harsher than she had been before, and a lot quieter. she used to talk all the time to all of her friends, but she hasn't talked to her friends in the longest time. the only thing she has her mind set on is finding the vampire that killed her brother and killing him for it. she became a lot more violent, and ended up having a terrible temper. if you look at her the wrong way she would explode. and you would need to watch what you said around her.
though she will never, ever admit it, cecily is deathly afraid of being on her own. she's never been alone in her life. once her parents deserted her, she had her brother, but now that she's gone, she has no idea what to do with herself. she's scared that she'll end up doing something wrong and end up dead herself, but won't show it. she has trouble trusting people now, and is always on edge. she doesn't know how, why or when they're going to happen, but cee is prone to panic attacks. she just starts not to be able to breathe and won't be able to for a few minutes until someone calms her down. it's an effect of the post traumatic stress disorder that was an effect of her brother dying and her watching it.

† History †
History:
her parents only wanted one. one son and that was it. a son who could protect himself and make it through. they were radicals themselves, but hadn't done much that was even close to being helpful. mostly they had done protests here and there, and that was it. they wanted a son who could do something great. they wanted kain, and that was what they got. but six years later, when cecily was born, they had no idea what to do with her. her father never wanted a daughter, and refused to acknowledge her as his. he would call her mother a whore, say that it wasn't his child and she must've been with someone else. and then he left. all that was left was cecily, her mother and kain. by the time kain had hit sixteen, and cecily was ten, he was pretty much the only one that cared. their mother was... well, no one really knew about their mother, to be honest. she was just sort of there.as far as either of them were concerned, the only family they had was each other. and that was it. they stayed with their mother for the next two years until kain was able to move out and get his own place. cee moved in with him and everything became normal. he looked out for her, and all she had to do was go to school and be normal. that was it. he would take care of everything else. she wouldn't have to worry about vampire and werewolves harming her, he would always protect her. always.
one night, everything changed. cecily and kain were out walking, on their way to the store to get her ice cream. she had really been craving some of the simpler things that used to make her smile. ice cream was one of them. so kain agreed. no one could take him anyhow. well.. he was wrong. she wasn't entirely sure what was going on. there was a shadow, then kain reached for something, looked behind at her and then ahead. when he screamed "CECILY. RUN." she knew something was wrong. she ran as far as she could before she started crying. she was scared. a little while later, she started slowly getting back to where she had left her brother, staying hidden as she watched a vampire kill her brother. she wasn't entirely sure why it hadn't come after her, but she was glad it hadn't. she wouldn't have fought, even if she knew how. the vampire had left kain for dead, and once she was sure it was gone, she rushed to his side, only to be dissapointed. kain was dead. he wasn't even clinging to life, no. he was gone. and from that day on, the old cecily greysen was gone.
that night, cecily became an entirely different person. everything about her changed. she started wearing tighter clothes that were surprisingly easy to move in, switched heels out for converse and cut off most of her hair, to a point where it's only to her shoulders, where it used to be halfway down her back. she started wearing more eyeliner as well, and all the clothes she wore were darker and not nearly as pretty. she stopped caring about how she looked (well, to a point) and started caring more about defending herself. she learned how to use a gun and how to hack into computers, incase she would ever have to use that skill to her advantage.
it's been six months since kain died, and cecily still has no idea what to do with herself.

the one things casey always, and he meant always loved about makayla was her… well, her makayla-ness. there was something about her that was distinctly makayla. he couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it was, but there were things that were definitely signature to her. like the way she looked. from the color of her hair, to the way that she did it, down to the way she smiled- it was all distinctively makayla; simply kay. and he loved everything about it. everything from her head to her toes made his heart skip a beat. that was why he was able to tell, from the beginning, that she wasn’t makenna. from the moment he had met her sister, casey was physically attracted to her, yes. but there was nothing else about her that was even remotely appealing. she had a snooty essence about her. it was easy for casey to read her. ever since he was little, more so since he had gone deaf in the one ear, he had been rather good at reading people. it had been an easier way for him to get to know someone, rather than talking to them. he had never been eloquent with his speech (unless writing it in a song) and the sound of his voice was an odd sound for him to hear. he hated the sound of his own voice, so rather than talking to someone to find out what they were like, he just… read them. there were certain things in the way someone carried themselves that gave parts of their personality away. like makenna for example. the way she would parade around his house like she owned the place was enough to tell she thought she was better than all of his family- especially his parents. the way she would talk to his brother was enough to tell that she thought she owned him- and for a while, she kind of did. alan did just about anything she said. so, as good as makayla was with pretending to be her sister, casey could tell right away that she wasn’t. makayla didn’t have that air of snootiness about her. she was much too sweet. and she refused to sleep with alan. that in itself was a red flag. when her sister was around him, she barely kept her hands off of him. makayla wasn’t nearly as touchy- feely with his brother. once he had figured out makayla was not makenna, he was more than intrigued, and he wanted to know more. when he took the time to read her, he was impressed. she was shy around alan- well, sort of- and the way that her eyes widened when he figured it out? priceless. she was completely adorable. and in her cuteness, she was completely impossible for casey to resist. being friends with her was an absolute must. he had to know her, he had to. so for the first time in years, years, casey opened up to someone. not only opened up emotionally, but actually talked to her. he had a best friend who could understand him without him even having to talk, and he refused to say much to anyone outside his little bubble. but makayla was an exception. she was his first exception, and god, he was more than happy that he had opened up to her. she was amazing. and what started as just a secret between the two became so much more. he was happy to have a best friend, and eventually, when she became his girlfriend, he didn’t think it could get much better than that. she was gorgeous- absolutely gorgeous. not to mention she was older and she was an effing pureblood! he had heard from his brother about how stuck up and judgmental purebloods could be and was pleasantly surprised by makayla, especially after meeting her sister. once he had fallen in love with her, it was hard to get her off of his mind. and ever since, well, she had always been at the forefront of his mind.
one of casey’s goals in life was to always keep makayla smiling. it was a silly goal he had made right after they started going out. he hated seeing her with anything but a smile on her face, so he made it his job to keep a smile there. so hearing her laugh made him smile. he had accomplished his goal for the day. giving her a confused, but still happy, look as she shook her head at him, casey tilted his head to one side, breaking the trance he seemed to have been in. “and hello to you fair lady.” he said, nodding slightly as if to bow to her. when her arms came around his neck, he smiled even more, pulling her closer to him while in his arms. laughing, casey nodded and shrugged his shoulders slightly. but before he had a chance to talk, makayla had to go and run her finger down his chest. he had to hold back a shiver. she had always been able to get that kind of reaction out of him, especially when she touched him like that. god. she knew exactly what she was doing when it came to him too. making it seem like it was nothing, casey nodded and smiled, laughing slightly. “well, it wasn’t like i had any clean shirts to answer the door in anyway.” he said, leaning down to kiss her gently on the forehead. that had been something he always did when seeing her. when they were dating, it had been a gentle peck on the lips, but ever since, he had stuck to her forehead. that way it was a sweet way to remind her just how much he cared without making things insanely awkward. he didn’t want her to think she owed him something- she didn’t. it wasn’t her fault he was still head over heels for her. so a simple and gentle kiss to the forehead was sort of his happy medium. he felt like it was still necessary, especially since he didn’t see makayla nearly as often as he used to. in school it was a lot easier for him. though they were in different houses and years, they had lunch and after school to see each other. now they had to fit it in with everything else they did in their lives. not to say that casey wouldn’t gladly push something out of his schedule to fit makayla in, or that fitting makayla in was ever a problem. it wasn’t. he would much rather spend time with makayla than do pretty much anything else. but he did have work (and so did she) so it was hard. plus, makenna had a whole life of her own. it wasn’t her fault that casey’s life consisted of just about nothing but healing and music. though, the way his life revolved around her during school- no matter if they were dating or not- should’ve been a bit of a clue to her. but he wasn’t really into her night scene. not to say that he didn’t love the way she looked in a slinky black dress, heels and some serious makeup- he did. but he wasn’t a huge partier. he was more of a ‘let’s stay home and cuddle’ kind of guy. but hey, whatever made makayla happy made him happy. she had tried to go out with her a few times, and every time all he did was bring her down. so he had stopped accepting the invite, always claiming that there was something else that was going on at the time. just because it wasn’t his thing didn’t mean he had to completely ruin her night. still, the time he had with her was amazing, and he loved every second of it, no matter what it was that they decided to do.
as makayla’s head rested on his shoulder, he smiled down at her. that was such a makayla thing to do. but it made him smile. he felt her relax a little, and decided that now was probably a good time to move. they had been standing just inside his doorway the whole time, and though the door was closed, it felt like he hadn’t even asked her in yet. he couldn’t decide if bringing her in his room would be too… well, too awkward and if it would make it seem like he was expecting something- which he definitely wasn’t. the couch seemed like a safe bet. he had just made the decision to move when he felt her lips on his cheek. he immediately felt the heat rush to his cheeks. he tried to hide that he was blushing, but with her so close, there was no hiding it. he smiled down at her and shrugged as an answer to her question. yeah, he had gotten used to talking to her, but it was still odd for him to hear his own voice. he really had no idea why, but after twelve or so years of barely speaking to anyone… well, it starts to get to you. he preferred to communicate through what he did. it sort of went with that whole ‘actions speak louder than words’ anyway. when makayla suggested he teach her more chords on his guitar, his face lit up. “that sounds awesome, kay. i’d love to.” he said. she was one of the only people that knew he could play guitar at all, or sing at that, outside of his closest friends, his family, his former band and their very small former following. he had taught her a few chords here and there back in school, and had been teaching her little by little ever since. there were too many memories to count of them together, playing his guitar. it was one of his favorite things to do with her. he could still see it- makayla in his lap with his hands around hers while he guided her fingers. it was a sweet memory- one that he kept close to him. carrying her over to the couch, casey set her down and held up a finger, as if to say ‘just gimme a minute’. he grabbed the bag he had tossed with all the shirts in it and pulled one on before heading to his room to get his guitar- the one he had named annabelle (affectionately known as annie to his brother, makayla, harper and al) the first time he had played so hard his fingers bled. bringing it back out to the living room where makayla was waiting, casey sat down and pulled a pick out of the little holder he had stuck to the side of his guitar. “wanna hear a song i’ve been working on first? or… any special requests?” he asked with a smile.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
