† Personality †
Basic Personality:Sonja’s not exactly what you’d call passive aggressive, but she doesn’t like to be overly zealous in her anger, meaning that she keeps it pretty bottled up, smoldering almost. Much of the time, this isn’t too dangerous for the person that she’s pissed at, it’s only intimidating, which she finds helpful, though she is quick to forgive and forget. That is unless you find her jealous of something you own, you’ve done, as she is rather quick feel cheated in some way over something that never had anything to do with her in the first place. Though may never know that she’s feeling that way towards you because she is rather good at disguising her emotions, though once her buttons have been pressed just a bit too much, she will explode rather fantastically, perhaps throwing a punch into your face, which could break bone as her father has always taught her how to defend herself.
There is a sweeter side to Sonja though, one that a lot of people actually do see. She is sweet as sugar when you first meet her, as she likes to think that everyone but the insane are generally good people, not having met anyone that would prove her otherwise. Yet this also means that she isn’t overly fearful of the ‘monsters’ that walk around London, a.k.a., vampires and werewolves. It’s more of a matter that they fascinate her and she’s challenged herself to be able to recognize the two races even though she is unable to smell their particular scents. And so she’s willing to meet all sorts of people, and is usually the one to strike up a conversation with someone else, even if they look like they’d rather be somewhere else right then.
However, when she does get to talking to someone, after a while, she tends to go quiet and just watch her conversation partner. This drives away most people, as they start to feel awkward and will say ‘So long!’. Though from time to time she’ll find someone who will stand there, staring at her as she is at them and an impromptu staring contest begins. She usually looses this game, because her contacts dry out her eyes, but she still enjoys it.

Other: Sonja tries very hard not to wear eyeglasses out in public, afraid of loosing or damaging them, but when she does, she constantly adjusts them when they’ve started falling down the bridge of her nose. She may also be seen carrying around her helmet if she’s feeling particularly full of herself.
† History †
History: Sonja had an incredibly boring childhood, which is more than most people could say. Her mother stayed at home, like every good wife, she supposed, and her father, an American, was a software engineer. He liked to try to teach his children about computers from the age which they could read, but neither Sonja nor her brother were at all interested in anything more than playing around on the internet.
For eleven years, Sonja was a rather spoiled child, being an only child, and she enjoyed this greatly. Though she did gain quite a superiority complex, never having to fight for her parent’s attention; they were always hers. That was until Albert came along to ruin her fun. Yet, besides her first few years of hating that her brother existed, stealing all the new stuff and attention that she was supposed to be getting, they bonded quickly once Alby –her nickname for him- was able to walk. He was no longer a helpless, pooping, screaming, blob of human, but a playmate, even if he was a tiny one at that.
The only time their happy life was ever sullied was when Winola –Sonja’s mother- was attacked by a vampire. The creature didn’t get so much as a scratch on the woman, seeing as it had been very young, and Winny was clever enough to get rid of the beast, but it spooked Jackson enough to change him. He became surlier and much more protective of his family, going so far as to buy a revolver and carry it around with him, despite never obtaining a permit for it. This spooked his kids, though they would never say it to his face and usually kept it between the two of them, even if Albert’s understanding of the situation had been limited because of his age –being 8 at the time.
By the time Gwen –this is what she had now decided she’d rather be called- was 20, she was out of her parents’ home and renting apartments at the cheapest rates she could find, which meant that she didn’t always live in the nicest parts of town, seeing as how expensive so many housing options in London were at the time. The sort of living arrangements and environments she found often exposed her to the darker side of the city and you could always tell when someone lurking off in a dark corner of a street was up to no good. Gwen was at least in the company of a good few friends at the time and she quickly found a job as a receptionist at a pottery gallery. She never did find trouble with anyone anyway; she was so nondescript, and at this time without her bike –instead using public transport to get where she needed- so there was nothing that it seemed she could offer people, not even money.
Eventually, she had saved up enough so that she could move into a more respectable part of London: just outside of Broadgate, where she currently still resides. At first, the move was difficult, as she could never quite find a way to get all the way to her old job purely by one mode of transport, until she received the idea of buying a motorcycle; it was cheap and easy to store, as it didn’t take up as much space as a car. However, this thought only occurred to her when she met a man, Burke Savin, who was a mechanist and owned a bike himself. This became a sort of bonding experience for the both of them, Burke teaching Gwen how to ride and fixing her bike free of charge when it was damaged or just needed maintenance. Over the next 5 years –to present- they developed a deep friendship, Burke becoming like an older brother to her, though she’d never tell him that, as she’d learned the hard way that guys hated being thought of ‘only as a brother’ and she’d always been able to tell that he had different feelings toward her, not that she would expect anything different.
Recently, as in the last few months, Gwen had a run in with a rather nasty run in with a supernatural –as she likes to refer to them. At the time she had been sure that she had been a vampire, as she’d definitely seen fangs on the creature, but now she wasn’t too sure, having remembered something a coworker had told her about some werewolves growing claws and fangs when in a half-transformed state. Whichever species the woman had been didn’t matter much to the human, she was just glad to have gotten away, which was thanks to her bike. Long-story-short, Gwen had left a bar where a few friends –Burke mostly- had thrown her a birthday party, and she’d been only slightly drunk, barely fuzzy headed. Yet it had been enough to not hear the footsteps that had run up behind her and the owner of said steps was able to grab her neck. She’d just turned the keys in the ignition on her bike when this had happened, though she hadn’t yet been sitting on it, as the slight difference in her thinking had messed with her sense of ‘order of operations’. Some strange reflex kicked in then and Gwen had grabbed a hold of the bike’s throttle, starting it forward with a load roar of the engine. For some reason, this frightened the thing at her neck and it had released her, jumping back, hissing. Not willing to confront the strange woman any longer, she got on her bike as fast as she could, which was a bit difficult, seeing as it had driven a good ways a way and then fallen to the side, in turn bending the kickstand that hadn’t been put up once the cycle had moved forward.
Needless to say, this had thoroughly freaked Gwen out, her parents as well, seeing as she was obligated to tell them these sorts of things. Her father, however, had the most dramatic reaction and the very next week bought her a gun and a permit, not wanting her to have to pay fines, as he did every few years. It had so far turned out to a be a useless endeavor; the revolver never left her room and she’d never even loaded the thing, though her pa had insisted that she practice loading his own gun, he’d even gone so far as to take her to a shooting range, twice. Hopefully, she’ll never have use of a gun, but if she ever does, she’ll be completely unprepared for it.
