"Anna?" Morrison called, tapping softly on her apartment door a few more times. No good, after a minute of waiting there was still no answer. She must be at work, or out shopping, or... something. He wished that he'd gotten her phone number, but she only had his and she hadn't called him yet, so there was no way of reaching her. Perhaps if he went down into the heart of town and found her salon he'd be able to speak her, though he was unsure as to whether she'd even be able to have to time to chat, or if she'd actually want what he had come to give her.
A soft mewing from the bundle in his arms drew his attention down to the little kitten that was trying to wiggle its way from out of his grip. Chuckling, the wolf rearranged the blanket so that the animal was laying on its back and its legs were constricted from moving by the fabric. "I don't think Anna'd want to look after you at work anyway," he muttered to the cat, who responded with an indignant sounding 'mew' as if to say: How do you know I won't be good? Maybe I just don't like you. "Oh, you love me," Morrison grinned, turning away from the doorway and trotting down the steps back to the first floor.
Talking to ourselves now, are we? chimed in some part of his brain. Yes, he supposed he was. It was from the fact that he'd been so lonely the past week or so, mostly because he wasn't back in work quite yet and so all of his 'friends' were gone during the day and by night they were all too tired to go out for drinks and the like. Morrison would have loved to go bar crawling with one of his mates, yet Iivan was the only one available, but he was still recovering from his whole broken nose-broken spine deal and wasn't up to standing, much less clubbing. Not that he would have expected the other wolf to go anywhere even if he were healing up, as his nose would still be wrapped in bandages and he'd look rather silly.
At least Morrison had found himself something to do with this kitten. It'd just been sitting outside of Meadhbh's house when he'd gone back to pick up a few of her things. At first he'd thought that it was one of the strays the woman had used to like to take in, but the poor thing was too skinny and dirty to have been taken care of for any length of time. It was a rather good thing then that he had found the creature, it wouldn't die somewhere on the street now, all sad and alone. Though he couldn't imagine that it was enjoying his company too much, despite the fact that he was feeding it and had bathed and brushed it, for it squirmed in his hold every time he picked it up and would only calm down after it had unsuccessfully tried to scratch his face off. It could also just be that it was a boy kitten and not one for cuddling.
Down by his car, the wolf had to idea to put the small cat in the back seat then wander around the town for bit, and maybe stop by a department store to get himself some new shirts, seeing as he'd ripped or stained his others. But once the door was open and he leaned in to set Louis down, the kitten squeaked and dug his claws into Morrison's shirt. "Oh fine," the man sighed, standing back up straight and extracting the claws from his chest. "Guess I'm not getting any new shirts then." He held the animal out to the side for a moment to inspect the damage done to his shirt; one of the top buttons had been torn out, great. To not look so odd, with a hole in his shirt, he unbuttoned the two clasps above the broken one and he supposed it didn't look too bad that way, it didn't even reveal much more of his chest even.
Louis mewed quietly once he was settled back against the man's chest then stayed still, as if he knew that he was hindering Morrison in what he really wanted to do right then. Smart cat, he thought with a sigh, reaching down to rub the kitten between the ears. The creature purred for a moment then quickly stopped and just stared up at the wolf. The thing was rather adorable, he had to admit, but he'd be glad to be rid of him as he couldn't take care of a cat too well when he was back to work as he barely spent any time at home then, sometimes he'd be gone for three whole days and a cat could easily die if there wasn't someone to attend to it while it was locked inside for a few days. And just thinking of all the mess it would make with cat litter and hairballs and such just made him cringe. He hoped he'd be able to catch Anna tomorrow, otherwise he'd have to dump the kitten off on some stranger and he couldn't know if they'd take care of the animal right or not.

Elizabeth yawned; either she was tired or she was tired of walking and wanted to head back home. Her eyes would catch a glimpse of a store every once in a while, but she wasn't really in the mood for clothes or food, or even little antiques. She didn't know exactly what she wanted to do now that her daily routine included going outside. Right before she had left, her father gave her a suggestion: ride a bike, walk or go to the park (if there was one). She leaned towards biking, but ended up with walking. Maybe tomorrow she should go walking. It seemed fun.
She dug through her pockets, pulling out a small rectangular object. She looked at it's screen; it told her the current time and date. She didn't want to know that, only if someone had sent her a message. No one did. 'Oh well, not like it matters' She told herself. Elizabeth couldn't walk and look at her cell phone at the same time, so her eyes would glance up every once in a while so she wouldn't bump into anyone parading the street. Then she decided she should just put the object back into her pocket to avoid a collision.
She put all of her focus on home: who was home, who wasn't, who was coming home, what was there to eat.... Elizabeth wasn't much of a social person; she liked the comforts of home more than the outside world. She had her reasons, even though, she seemed to have gotten over the entire 'too-scared-to-go-outside-thing'. She hoped that she won't be faced with that again.

As soon as Morrison started to walk, however slowly to keep the kitten from bouncing around too much, the animal started to wiggle about. He crawled up onto the man's shoulder, mewing softly and stretching out his arms, claws out, as if reaching out for the car. "What are you, bipolar?" the wolf growled, grabbing the creature around its middle and trying to pull it back into his arms, into the blanket, which was now hanging precariously trapped between three fingers. Louis mewed loudly, indignantly, and turned his head to land an ineffective bite on Morry's hand. "Fine," he grumbled, spinning on a heel to face the car again. But once he was still, the kitten squirmed so much that the man was afraid to hold him too tight to keep him still and he managed to scramble over his shoulder then dropped to the ground before immediately dashing off down the sidewalk.
Morrison stood on the spot for a moment, running a hand over his face. It was definitely time to get rid of the animal, he couldn't deal with it. Usually he was very good with animals, but as of late, ever since meeting Anna's cat, Mane, he hadn't had much luck with pets and the like. Perhaps it was just the change in his personality, that he was much more blunt and harsh with people. With a sigh, he ran after Louis, glad that there were so few people around this early in the evening so that he wouldn't have to dodge anyone, or be unable to and knock someone down.
After a good four or five blocks, he was able to catch up to the kitten and stopped to grab him up by the scruff of the neck just in time to avoid colliding with a stranger. "Got'cha, ya bastard," he growled, bringing the kitten up to eye level and grinning triumphantly at it. Time to send you off to a pound, he thought savagely, face falling to a bit of grimace before he finally realized that the person he'd almost bumped into was still standing there in front of him. He lowered the animal to his chest then pressed him against his shirt, holding him under his bum.
"Sorry for almost running you over, lass," Morrison smiled ruefully, "this... thing," He gestured at Louis with his free hand. "was trying to make a break for it." For a few moments, he just stared at the 15-something year old girl, then an idea came to him. "You don't happen to like cats, do you?"

As she fiddled around with putting her phone back in her pocket, someone had bumped into her. 'Sooner or later' she thought. She looked up and brushed some of the ebony strands of hair out of her face, only to find that it was just a random stranger. Of course it would be a random stranger, she didn't know anyone in the area. She lingered for a bit, trying to see what the person who ran into her was doing. It looked as if he was picking up something from the ground. Maybe he ran into her and dropped something of value?
When the man rose up to his feet, she could see exactly what he was reaching for. In his hand was a small bundle of fur, a kitten. She adored kittens, mainly for their small size, giant head and enormous round eyes and the mewing sounds they made. Then, her mind switched back to the stranger holding the kitten, tilting her head. 'What's he staring at?' She asked herself, as if she had the answer in the back of her head.
"Yes, I love them" she answered, with a little bit of enthusiasm in her voice. Then, a realization. She was a 15-16 year old teenage girl, answering a possibly middle-aged stranger's question about cats. Her mouth opened, to say something but her mind caught her at the last minute. 'He's probably looking for someone to watch the cat for him'
That sounded reasonable.

Of course she liked cats, everyone liked cats. Especially young teenage girls. To her, this little bundle of claws and fur was just absolutely irresistible, like a living doll that she could shove into uncomfortably sized baby clothes. Or perhaps he was confusing teenagers with ten year olds again, which he found himself doing more and more frequently as the years passed. If you didn't look past 40 or so, he barely even considered you an adult. Then what about Anna? his mind nagged him, She's only around 20 and you've already shagged her. Does this count as statutory rape to you, hm?
Morrison blinked, a much subtler way of clearing his head than shaking it, and forced a slight smile onto his lips, though it soon became very genuine as he continued to watch the girl, she was so young and naive. It was nice to see such innocence still existed in the world, even if he was sure that in time it would soon be destroyed beyond recognition. "Of course you do," he replied finally, repeating his earlier thought process. He opened his mouth to ask if she wanted to keep the kitten, but politeness demanded he introduce himself, and he held out his free hand for the girl to shake. "Morrison Whelan."
With himself no longer being such a stranger, and maybe a bit less creepy, as running up to 15 year old girl surely was, he got straight into what he had originally planned to asked, if not just to have the kitten, now squirming slightly, out of his arms for a few minutes. "Anyway," he sighed, holding Louis a bit tighter to his chest, "I was wondering if you would like to have him." He proffered the kitten to her, holding him under his spindly little arms with both hands. "I found him on the street and he needs a good home that I can't really provide."

She stared back. There was a staring thing with this man. Or maybe there wasn't, since everyone tended to stare. She did it herself. It took her a little bit to realize that he held his out for her to shake it. Elizabeth wasn't used to this gesture, used by businessmen just arriving to a meeting; she raised her hand, coiling hers around his, or at least trying to. Either his hand was twice as big, or her hand was incredibly small. But she managed to complete the handshake, regardless of size.
She felt better now that she knew his name. "Cadence Johnson", she spoke. 'You forgot your nickname...', she reminded herself. It's just a name, so really it doesn't matter. "Nice to meet you."
Elizabeth thought about it for a little bit. It will be nice to own a kitten of her own, but what about the necessary items that went with owning a cat, like the litter-box and the food bowl... and the food? Maybe she had those things, just didn't know where they were being stored. Then again, the kitten didn't have a home. Another reason to take the animal into her hands. "Hmm, I'll take him", was her final answer.

(( What if we added in some crazy vampire hobo to liven things up? Hm? ^_^ ))
This girl had such a tiny hand that Morrison was afraid for a moment that he might crush her fingers, making the handshake a bit awkward, but once both had pulled their hands away it was fine, at least they were now acquainted with each other. Cadence… She didn’t look like a Cadence, but it was a nice name, and Johnson, well that was overall very unassuming name, even more so than Smith. Morrison Cameron Whelan, now that was a weird name, so it was a good thing that it wasn’t easily turned into something ‘mock worthy’, and thus add another tortuous aspect to his school years besides being made fun of for looking so damn young and being… unusually hairy.
Shaking his head to pull himself out of his revelry, he turned his eyes on the girl, watching her think it out. He had expected an immediate and enthusiastic yes, but this was fine, it meant that perhaps she would take good care of the animal, take responsibility for it. "Hmm,” He lifted an eyebrow expectantly, holding the kitten, ready to be transferred. “I'll take him." was her final decision. The wolf smiled a bit at this and carefully handed Louis to the girl, making sure that she got an arm under him to support his behind and another to keep him from squirming away. “His name’s Louis by the way,” he told her, tucking his hands into his pockets.
Something odd smelling caught his attention and turned his head toward it, but upon seeing nothing, he shrugged it off and turned his attention back to Cadence. For a few moments, he gazed at her, as was his habit now, before a thought came to him. He dug around in one of his pockets and produced his wallet, and opening it pulled out a few hundred pound notes, ignoring the condom he had stuck along with them. “Here’s to help pay for the little guy,” he said, smiling softly and holding the bills out for the girl, “it’ll pay for a few months of food and to get him neutered.” Because I don’t want to see anymore fucking strays strangling about, he thought it, but it didn’t taint his expression, which remained kind, calm, despite that weird scent that had crept back into his nose.

(( Crazy Vampire hobo, eh? I like the sound of that. Go ahead and throw a random crazy vampire hobo in here. xD ))
A soft smile crept onto her face as she took the kitten into her hands, holding him tightly against her chest, but not too tight; tight enough so that it was comfortable being in another stranger's hands. One hand was wrapped around it's body while her other hand was placed on it's bottom. She looked down at the kitten, after being told it's name. A high pitched 'Hi', followed by 'Louis' escaped her lips. The animal looked around, ignoring his new owner. 'Such a pretty kitty...', She thought after staring at the small animal for a little bit.
She looked up just in time for her to receive money--pounds to be exact--for the things that Louis might need. 'Well this is nice of him', She thought as she carefully removed a hand from the kitten's body, moving the other one up from his bottom to his tummy so that he wouldn't escape her. Elizabeth held out her free hand, with her palm facing up, so that she could accept the pound notes. "Thank you" she smiled at him. Two important things to keep in the back of her mind: food and get the animal neutered.

(( Hooray! I’m sure you’ll love her… xD Also, you may control her as well, any way you wish. ))
Damn, that’s just too adorable. thought Morrison, watching the kitten in Cadence’s arms. And upon hearing her squeaky ”Hi Louis.” he chuckled softly, thinking again that was indeed, damn cute. Sometimes, he wished he could be that adorable, but even as a wolf, he was too intimidating, hard as he tried not to be. Cute things got a lot of love just because they were… cute, which also meant that they must be sweet as you couldn’t be cute and evil, that was a total flip-flop on the norm. And cuteness also came with innocence, which this girl certainly had. Most people would think it very fishy to be have a kitten handed to them by some stranger and then be offered money- which he had by now placed in her outstretched hand, following her thanks with a nod- but she didn’t even blink an eyelash at it, because to her the world was full of good people, and bad people could easily be transformed to be good again. Obviously, that wasn’t how the world really worked, you just had to look around you long enough, but it was a nice thought.
Morrison was now ready to say goodbye and be on his way to go home, leaving Cadence with her new pet, but that scent had caught him again and he looked around once more. This time, he saw someone, a woman and she looked very out of place. Her clothes were absolutely filthy, just like the minimal amount of skin that was uncovered, and she wasn’t wearing any shoes. What was more, she was a vampire; the man could smell her from all the way from across the street. Hopefully, she wasn’t hungry and would just be on her way. But until then, Morrison would stay right with this girl to make sure that she was safe because he wasn’t terribly confident that she could defend herself against a blood thirsty –literally- vampire. “Did someone drive you here?” he asked, trying not to show his concern too much.
His attention however, was not on her for long after her response, that he didn’t hear much, as the she-vampire was making her way across the street, seeming as though she were staring straight at Cadence. As she got closer still, the wolf positioned himself so that he was standing in front of the human, shielding her from view, though he knew that he couldn’t hide her scent; it was strong to all predators out here, wolf and vampire alike. The probably homeless vampire was only a few feet away now, and he had to try hard not to turn away from the stench. “Move aside, doggy,” she hissed softly, almost whispering, “I just want to see the girl.” There was a manic sort of grin on her face, yet her body faced him with an odd sense of composure. “Cadence,” he said quickly, his body ready to move should the leech attack, “just run. Run now.”

(( WOOT! ))
Elizabeth made sure she had everything; phone was in her pocket, Louis, the money to pay for the stuff that Louis needed. As she stuffed the pound notes into her pockets, as far as she could, she made sure that she wasn't hurting the kitten but he was still tightly secure in her hand. Now that the pound notes were stowed away into her pockets, she could hold Louis with ease, adjusting the grip she had on the animal when it began to squirm around.
She was excited, but on the inside she twice as enthusiastic about her new pet. It was a while since she had a pet. Cadence wondered about her brother and her father; maybe they will be just as excited to own a kitten, like herself. “Did someone drive you here?” entered her head as she found herself staring at the kitten again. "Hm?" She wanted to make sure the question was directed towards her. It would take a while for her reply. But, she knew something was up. Her birth name, followed by a command: “just run. Run now.”
"Wait, why?" She asked him, holding Louis close to her chest.

The nearly disturbing grin upon the she-leech’s face grew wider at Morrison’s words and she took a step closer to him. This did not worry the wolf at first, not until he realized that Cadence hadn’t moved an inch. For christ’s sakes, was this girl deaf and blind? He turned his head only for a moment to look back at her and saw that she was too wrapped up in staring at Louis to pay any attention to this not-as-adorable man. "Wait, why?" At that, the wolf felt a bony, intensely strong hand grip his throat and he barely had time to turn back to the vampire in front of him before he was shoved to the side, guided by his neck. “Fuck, girl,” he said as loudly as he could through a sudden coughing fit as he stumbled back, “run!” It wasn’t difficult to spot danger, especially when that danger was presented by a vampire, so he had to imagine that this girl was incredibly sheltered or just down right stupid. Even he would have been out of here by now if he hadn’t wanted to leave Cadence alone with this creature.
Still finding it a bit difficult to breath with his partially crushed throat, Morrison lunged forward just as the leech did the same, but he was a much faster, and before the human could receive even a scratch he had wrestled the vampire to the ground. She lashed out at his hands with her teeth as he tried to hold her head down to the pavement, yet he wasn’t afraid of being bit in the slightest; she could die if she got any of his blood into her system. Though, then again, in her hunger, she was slightly insane and just might bite him to get him away, which would mean that he wouldn’t have to worry about her coming after him or the girl later, perhaps he could make her bite him… No, that was too cruel, even to these monsters.
However, the man could soon tell that this was not likely to happen as he felt himself being pushed up as the leech got onto her hands and knees. Damn she was strong for a bum. Before she was able to fully raise herself and buck him off, Morrison jumped off her and rolled to his feet, positioning himself once more in front of a stunned Cadence and reaching behind him to nudge her and urge her to move. His attention was still very much on the predator in rags that had now gotten her feet under her. “Just a nibble,” she giggled, grinning so that her sharp canines showed clearly.
Suddenly, the leech rushed at him, arms outstretched as if to give the wolf a hug. Instead of embracing him, her hands came down on either of his shoulders and she gave him no time to react before plowing her knee hard into the man’s crotch. Morrison’s mouth gaped for a moment then he clenched his teeth together, willing the pain to go away, yet it wouldn’t and was unable to move with it. It gave the vampire time to dodge around him and toward the girl. He just hoped that she was a fast runner.
