†Personality†
Basic Personality:
Dieter is clever and witty—one of the advantages of being raised by Luther is that you either get a calculating brain or die trying. He was quick to come up with a plan for sneaking out of the house without being caught and even swiping some money off his dad, but Luther being Luther would probably be waiting for Dieter to return home, where Dieter would receive a lot of yells and demands to return the now none-existent money. Dit is actually a skilled little thief, a trait he decides to ignore, but the truth of the matter was that if Luther was probably any less smart Dieter could get away with much more than pocketing a little money. Of course, Dieter really didn’t take this little fact into attention, but when he wants to find or take anything at all, he most likely will and not only succeed in getting the object but covering up neatly after himself as well. Of course to everyone’s dismay, he possesses a wide string of sarcasm and smart comebacks, but of course, this would get the two, Dieter and Luther, in a multitude of arguments, considering how both of them are as stubborn as a mule. You might as well have better luck convincing a dog to meow than convincing Dieter after he has made up his mind. Dit learned how to challenge the authority and did so fairly often whether it was family, teacher or a cop was around. He disliked the limits and rules these individuals would set and he is a freedom lover. He felt like a caged lion around all the ‘but’s and ‘don’t’s they would give, and Dieter, being as stubborn as he is, thought adults were against him, like almost every teen.
However despite being a loud mouth and reckless at times (well, actually he’s always reckless) is that he can be lazy, to the point of not doing anything all day just to avoid cleaning some silly little dishes. Dieter would prefer not to do anything all day than do something that he thought would make no sense. Like cleaning the dishes, I mean by the time he turned around they would be dirty anyway, so what was the point? Even so, if there was something Dieter wanted done he would do it, like if he wanted the house cleaned because he was going to have a friend home he would pick up the vacuum and get to cleaning. If he decided he wanted a pet, he would attend to its needs, feed it every day, clean up after it. Truly, Dieter’s laziness was more of an optional subject, he wouldn’t do anything unless he found a point to it, it had to be a very good point at that. No matter how much anyone would bring up the subject, Dieter refused to do any chores and anyone at all would never drive some sense into his thick head, since there wasn’t any physical punishment other than his ears ringing from Luther’s yells.
He was the type to ditch school, go to parties and get on his teacher’s nerves. Dieter loved breaking rules, from the smallest one possible to the biggest crime he could bare committing, this was only made worse by the fact that he did such things out of recklessness rather than purpose. Exactly that, he wouldn’t plan these things, he wouldn’t go that day to school thinking ‘oh I want to ditch’ not at all, it would probably be any normal day then a situation popped up where he was given the choice of either ditching or staying in school and he would decide to leave to do god knows what. The thing is Dieter is actually quite adventurous and without any constant stimulation he will grow weary and bored of the same old schedule, school was one such thing. In order to bring some excitement into it he would simply leave, either that or he would probably experience some sort of mental breakdown. Dieter just doesn’t do well with boredom, he might just explode if he is left to do nothing all day, because of this need for stimulation he can be rather random. Wake up one day and suddenly begin cooking for his colleagues, or maybe feel the urge to go to an amusement park, a party. The same thing might make him randomly strike a conversation with a random person, make some snide comment or get in trouble, just because he was bored and to most seemingly out of no good reason.
Of course this all has nothing to do with his sense of responsibility or his grade of intelligence. Dieter is actually quite diligent when it comes to his job, he will research every new discovery or detail that may come forth and he will make sure he understands everything to do about it. When he was younger he would study practically every day in order to keep his grades up. Despite it all, Dieter did care about his grades in school and he always aspired to go to college, study and get out with a degree in whatever career choice he made, as unlikely at this may seem.

Skin Color: Caucasian
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Eye Color: Pale Blue
Build: Lean and only slightly muscular (About 5’10)
Piercing/Scars/Tattoos:
Dieter has a couple of piercings, probably did it to annoy his father. Anyway, snakebites, eyebrows pierced as well as a stray piercing or two in his ears (normally takes them out and all you see if some holes in his ears). He also has this tattoo, which, if you turn around looks something like that.
Choice of Clothing:
His chosen clothing can vary depending on his mood. He can dress is something from a plain shirt with some kind of smartass saying with some jeans to hoodies, leather jackets, etc. Though he can dress well if he wishes to, but the thing is, he rarely does. Definitely prefers comfort over style so don’t be surprised if he pops up with an old shirt with a hole in it rather than a spiffy new one. Keep in mind that because he does look like a teenager he will normally dress like one. As for hairstyle he normally has his hair in some kind of orderly mess, not to mention dyed. Well rather, he just takes a bath and lets his hair dry in the way it will, hardly making an effort in ordering it or anything. He doesn’t even dress “professionally” for work, of course he’s rather good at what he does so he boss can hardly complain from some “out of place clothing.”

†History:†
History:
Dieter was born into a fairly normal family. He had a caring mother and an ill-tempered father, Luther never wanted a child, but even so he had agreed to take care of Dieter, not wanting to abandon his own kid. However, shortly after Dieter was born, his mother was murdered; he never met her, never knew anything about her and could never had the chance to have called her ‘mom’. Luther, of course, was distraught. The death of Elyse (Dieter’s mother) had affected him greatly and thus he was hardly fit to take care of a child, but even so, he refused to abandon Dieter and gave it a shot at being a parent, however much he abhorred the idea. Dieter was raised by his father and his father alone; there was never anyone else to help either of them. Since Luther was a vampire and he had chosen to forget his family there was no help from his side and Elyse’s were MIA for the time being. However, they did manage fairly well.
As a child, Dieter idolized his father. He wanted to be, in a way, a little Luther clone and many times he would act like his father or go to him for all sorts of advice, always searching for his approval. Luther isn’t the best of human beings around so normally this would get Dieter in all sorts of trouble, but there also came a few positive things with this. He knew far more than a child his own age and as well as expressed himself with correction, sometimes even challenging his kindergarten teacher’s own vocabulary knowledge. As well as things went, there was always a key problem that prevented Dieter to completely relate to his father and that was the fact that although Luther was a vampire, Dieter, on the other hand, was born human. This meant that he had to go to school during the day, take care of himself and even had been forced to learn how to cook for himself at a young age. He never did blame his father for this, but it was hard to do, as with any child. If only, this helped Dieter find his own independence, though Luther was always there to help him in whatever he could, his reach was limited thanks to a few vampire disadvantages.
In kindergarten was where Dieter made his first friend and they stuck together for life after that. Theo was your normal trouble-making bully at school and as unlikely as it seems that they would get along, they did. However, Theodore’s habit of always picking fights, getting in trouble and the like stuck with Dieter, in turn making him a bit more of a trouble-maker. Even so the two friends really did fare along well. Dieter always stuck loyally by his father’s side, telling him everything he did on his day and always dragging along Luther to whenever he wanted to go. So obviously a good relationship was formed between them.
And so it continued to be a good father-son relationship, mostly because Luther being the only family Dieter had, he found himself depending on Luther to fill each and every role, be it whatever it would be. However all this was subconsciously, Dieter never really understood just how much he depended on Luther for all this, which made him grow even fonder of his father. However, this all changed when Dit became a very troublesome teenager. Once Dieter hit puberty he began seeing what he believed what his father’s true colors. He saw a mean, grumpy old vampire who snapped and manipulated everyone he could. No matter how he managed this and regardless of whomever he took down with him. The realization soured Dit’s general outlook of his father and he soon became a troublesome, rebellious teenager. No matter what Luther tried he always saw it like he wanted something in return, like there was a motive behind his every action. He would make it seem like Dieter wasn’t good enough. He never allowed Dieter his personal space and Dieter would snap at every little thing he would do. This and Dieter’s sudden outings, where the teen found the need to keep away from home and simply suddenly disappear overnight made the two of them not only constantly bicker between them, but also proceed to have harsh arguments that would end badly for both of them.
Around his late fifteens, Dieter health seemed to be taking a turn for the worst. His right shoulder not only pained, but he slowly seemed to lose strength in this arm from time to time. A few months later he noticed some light swelling on his shoulder, but rather chose to ignore it as any kind of bruised shoulder. Denying the existence of other, much worse symptoms like constantly getting dizzy and weak and on occasions even vomiting his guts out for no good reason, this should have rung warning bells, but he chose to dismiss it as something else. Excusing it as feeling sick or something bad he ate. Truth be told, it was a developing cancer, a hereditary cancer much like Luther’s. However, the difference between his father’s and Dit’s, is that the latter one never went diagnosed. Dieter found no reason to preoccupy his father with something that was surely just a stunt he pulled wrongly. He was sick and weak for about a month in a half, before something changed.
This went on until Dieter turned sixteen. Nothing incredibly special about that year, except one particular day, it started during the night. Amazingly enough it was one of those rare days when Dieter didn’t object to any of Luther’s behavior and just accepted what came his way, mostly because he was mildly tired of it all. And, this night was different because Dieter really did not have any special plans besides going to his room and getting a good night’s sleep. However, when Luther was about to head to work was when disaster struck. Seemingly out of nowhere vampires armed to the teeth marched into the house with the intent or killing off both Luther and Dieter. By the time they were leaving Dieter was already half dead, he wasn’t only nicely ripped through with a few bullets in him, but because he was only human he was weakening fast and about to die. However, his father, Luther, wasn’t about to give up easily and although he was badly wounded himself he still managed to crawl towards Dieter only to discover his son’s bad shape. Coming to a decision he decided to turn Dieter while taking some of his blood to heal himself as well. The process was incredibly painful for Dieter, considering the extent of his wounds, but after hours or writhing in pain he managed to complete the change and heal his wounds.
After the first few days, when Dieter got a taste of what it was to be a vampire was when Luther and Dit’s relationship changed for the better. Somehow, the fact that Luther began teaching him the ropes of vampirism or something along those lines actually made Dieter remembered those good ol’ kiddie days where he trusted Luther completely and his father didn’t seem as much as an idiot. Being reminded of this could have been the start of changing, not only his thoughts of his father but his reaction towards him as well. As Luther taught him everything there was to teach, throughout it all, Dieter became more open and more accepting of his father. The arguments they had lessened, and the ones that they did have didn’t seem as grave as they were before. The relationship was made easier between the two of them; it seemed as if having something in common was the only thing the family needed to be brought back together. In this case it was the vampirism and although Dieter didn’t have much control over his bloodlust he did continue his studies, school was one thing he refused to give up, though now he had to go to night school instead of normal, happy human school. Another thing that Dieter seemed to struggle with was his friendship with his human friends, it was nearly impossible for him to restrain himself from attempting to suck their blood. For some unknown reason he seemed to struggle with bloodlust even more than the average vampire, but, however he still managed.
Just after he finally finished high school, he quickly applied for college. There was, of course, no objection from Luther’s part. You would be surprised to know that Dieter was not only a surprisingly intelligent kid, but always maintained good grades and with hardly and struggle to keep them high. Even if he might have optionally skipped on handing in homework or two his marks surpassed when it came to tests, of course, he was hardly what the teachers considered an apt pupil with the always-getting-in-trouble factor. Even so, he went to college, with the idea in mind of working as a psychiatrist. It was a number of challenging years, but, unsurprisingly he did obtain, not only a degree in psychology but studies in the field of medicine as well. Of course, this didn’t mean he was the best at work, he is lazy and always procrastinates but he is an apt doctor.
However, a year or two later, after he obtained a job and still lived with Luther. More out of choice than necessity, since they both so plainly could take care of one another. The point is; Dieter decided it was time to move out so he began planning his departure, refraining to tell Luther anything about it. Truth be told, he just didn’t know what would be his excuse, to say in the kindest way possible that he was moving out without angering or upsetting his father, so like always, he began procrastinating on this. His initial idea was to actually tell Luther, however someway they ended up having a very troublesome dispute which almost ended in violence. Almost. However, after this Dieter was not only decided he was going to move out without a word, but his objective in mind was to forgot about his father altogether. So when Luther went to work the following night, Dieter simply finished packing his bags and left without a word. It was months before Dieter got the nerve to calling Luther to letting him know he was fine, another conversation that didn’t end up too well. Because of this, Dieter barely spoke to Luther. An occasional call on any important holidays and maybe another stray attempt at communication or two. Where had Dieter moved, exactly? Well, rather far away, another country. Berlin, Germany to be more exact.
The move worked out rather well for Dieter, he god a job that not only paid good but he actually liked the place. And he would have stayed, he really would. If it weren’t for the fact that a few years later he caught ear of just how badly Luther was coping with Dieter’s departure and somehow he felt that he should do something to fix it. This would explain why a month later after he caught ear of the news there was a very awkward Dit shuffling through the airport and making his way to Luther’s household. His excuse, being, that he was fired from his work and that he had found a job in London. A lie, but knowing Dieter a believable one, and, luckily for the two of them, Luther bough it up with barely a word of protest (well a strong word of protests, he kicked and yelled like a kid, but everyone remained unharmed, which Dieter considers barely a word of protest), which signifies that Dieter is now currently living with Luther and, amazingly, Dieter is content with being stuck with his father for the time being.
