Morrison didn’t much like the way that the OldMan spoke to Mercy, even though he shouldn’t be feeling all that protective of her. It just seemed a bit crass to him that the first thing to say to a friend (perhaps?) in the hospital sounded more like an accusation, and with the swearing too. He would be a hypocrite if he ever put anyone down for fowl language, but still, you could keep it clean for at least one sentence, and one that should have sounded at least a bit concerned or sympathetic. But, he wasn’t going to meddle in this, he wasn’t even going to try, because he knew too well that he would just mess it up, and if this sort of conversing worked for the two, then by all means, they could have at it.
The wolf even managed to ignore Jeena being referred to as ‘the lady’, though he could see the crease of a frown form on the doctor’s lips. She was good at keeping a straight head however and unless someone really upset her, she wouldn’t let anyone know how pissed off she was. It was quite a skill and he was just a bit jealous of it.
Relief came when he noticed how Lexine tensed up at his question, it looked like she had started internally, though he wasn’t sure why she should be so surprised by his voice, he didn’t think he was that scary. Her look up at him was less amusing and he got in no more than a half second of a smile in before it dropped back to a very soft frown.
"I'll manage," He waved his hand slightly, inviting her to do what she needed, though he sorely doubted that she could manage on her own. It had only been ten or so minutes ago that she’d fallen flat on her face trying to stand, so he didn’t think that it would be much different now. He was slightly impressed when she was able to stand on her own and he returned her haughty look with a slight smile and a shrug. And it was rather fantastic that she could at least stand now without assistance.
The wolf’s attention was drawn from the girl when he noticed that the OldMan was glancing between him and her. What was he thinking? Whatever it was, it couldn’t be pleasant, not with the look that was etched across his face. "Are you her dealer?" Morrison blinked slightly, mouth dropping a bit.
“What?” he said, confused. He had no idea how he would have even come to this conclusion. "Like I'm going to believe she had an 'accident'" That sort of assumption was crossing a line now and Morry could feel the heat rising in his face a bit. The idiot, why would he be here if he’d been the one who’d hurt Mercy? Dealer’s didn’t care nearly that much about their customers because they were not in short supply. “What the hell?” he muttered, dropping his jacket onto the bed.
Lexine momentarily distracted him from his anger when he noticed her wobble and sink down as her knees gave out. However, at the harsh look she shot him, his brow knitted in some concern but mostly rage. He may be overreacting a little bit, but he’d been holding in his anger for a long time, and this seemed like a suitable time to let at least some of it out. Ignoring the girl again, and Jeena who was hovering worriedly off to the side, he turned to the OldMan once more, glowering. “You know, if it wasn’t for me, she wouldn’t be here.” He paused immediately after saying this, realizing that this sounded terrible. “I mean,” he said quickly, shaking his head in frustration, “I’m the one who helped her.” His voice grew quiet at the end of this and he took a deep breath, pushing his shoulders back so that they wouldn’t shake, revealing the anger he was doing very well to suppress.

Why did Lexi get the feeling this was going to turn into some kind of chaos? She turned herself so she was looking at Bert, sending a glare at him, her lips set in a firm and unimpressed line. The man was bloody stupid! She honestly thought that he had more of a death wish than she did but she knew that he did it only in concern for her and she was briefly touched. Of course, there was also the thing where they wouldn't even be here if it hadn't been him lifting her stash from the flat...so she was going to blame him for it anyway.
But honestly...what was he thinking accusing the man of being her dealer! He looked flashy and well to do but really Bert ought to know better than to think she would even contemplate hanging about with someone like that. Her dealer was a creep and shabby and she also knew the old man had followed her more than once. bah. She couldn't even trust him as far as she could throw him and that was quite depressing. but a choice she had made a long time ago.
She turned back to Morrison and watched as the anger flushed his face. Hell. This was turning into one of the worst twenty four hours of her life...barring one or two exceptions of course.
And then the wolf spoke some of the worst words she had ever heard, “You know, if it wasn’t for me, she wouldn’t be here.”. Bloody hell. Was he born in the dark ages? Actually, she wouldn't put it past him.
Her eyebrow rose in a slender arch as she watched him try and dig himself out of his nice little verbal hole. Bert meanwhile felt his temper soar, his need to look after his charge blurring all proper thought. What did the hell did that mean anyway? He nearly missed the bit added on the end. Help her? yeah right. He had known the girl since she had been born and considered himself to be an uncle or some such and the way she held herself now and the relief he had heard plain in her voice when he had entered was enough to tell him that the male before him had scared her...or there was something about him that put her on edge and that automatically made him dislike him.
"I'm sure your also the reason why she had to come here in the first place. If not a dealer then something else.." He looked the male up and down, his mind thinking of various other things...none of them good and all of them showing clearly on his face. Bert was an open book sometimes, especially when it came to Lexi.
Unfortunately she wished he wasn't- having someone care so openly about her set her on edge. It also wasn't helping to soothe matters in the room and if the doctor had thought it bad between herself and the other wolf earlier then this was going to be interesting. Which was probably why she forced herself to stand up straight and move between the two males before it got messy before looking to the woman from the corner of her eyes.
"I'd like my things if possible...my guardian will pay whatever is owed to you," She kept her tone soft but her stance proved she would not tolerate any kind of violence towards the male she now protected with her body. All thoughts of weakness was long gone and replaced only with a need to get out of this hell hole before things got bloody worse than they already seemed to be. She wanted to go home, not stay here because two men decided they were going to have a fight for dominance. Besides...Bert would never win. At least she had a slightly better chance than he did.
Bert himself took a step forward as if it were going to make a difference, forcing her to move forwards slightly although she stayed in nearly the same position. Only this time she placed herself with one hand against his chest and the other moved to splay across the wolf's.
He was surprisingly warm to the touch and she mentally told herself not to be stupid. Of course he was warm...he wasn't a walking corpse! It was only after this thought occurred that she realised just what the hell she was doing and snatched her hand away as if he had burnt her. What the hell was she thinking? She was fine with getting between the two men, but only to stop Bert from kicking the bucket! She didn't want or need to show any favour towards the other man and that was exactly what she was bloody doing!
She turned to look at Bert. "I just want to go home," and maybe once there she would get back to normal. Honestly, almost spilling her secrets and then trying to protect him from her idiot of a guardian (not that he needed protecting)! She was losing it.

"I'm sure you’re also the reason why she had to come here in the first place. If not a dealer then something else…"
Morrison bristled visibly at this, knowing the sort of things the OldMan implied by ‘something else’. It came to him that one of those things could be a vampire, but this thought left him when he realized that a leech wouldn’t be standing so boldly in daylight as he was. And still, it got his blood boiling, thinking about those damn creatures, especially the one that had killed his friend, how he hadn’t been able to murder the bastard himself when he’d found him. He so wished he could get that vampire in hands again and torture him to death, even if it meant 100 or more years of jail time, it would be worth it. Yet, he could beat up this human, releasing his anger for now, and he might just end up ruining Lexine’s life for a little bit. Actually, he wasn’t quite sure if this would be worse than prison or not, Mercy seemed to need as much company as she could get and the OldMan gave that to her, and a sense of protection. If the wolf could help it, he wouldn’t even touch the guy, though he was starting to have a hard time holding himself back.
It was a good thing that the girl moved between the two men then because Morrison was just about ready to punch the OldMan in the nose. As she looked over at Jeena, who was still hovering by the door, he continued to glare over at the human, forcing himself to breath deep.
"I'd like my things if possible...my guardian will pay whatever is owed to you."
He didn’t see the nod that the doctor directed toward Lexine, but he turned to watch her as he heard her footsteps leaving the room. Oh no, she couldn’t just leave now, she was one of things that kept him cautious and reasonable, if she was gone, all hell would break loose. Apparently, she did recognize this as a nurse stepped in a few seconds later and stood to watch over the three, arms crossed; she was one of those at the hospital that had a strong aversion to him and his friend, mostly because Iivan had tried to kiss her once when he’d been dosed up on pain meds. Honestly, Morrison had thought it was hilarious at that time, but the nurse hadn’t, so he could imagine that she’d be adamant about keeping anything sort of violent from happening, not wanting to deal with anything that would be caused by that.
While Morry had grown more reserved with the presence of the nurse, the OldMan became a bit bolder, stepping forward as if intending to finally confront the wolf. Mercy, clearly opposed to this, stretched out her arm to place a hand on the human’s chest holding him back and keeping him at a safe distance. Her other hand came up against the wolf’s ribs and he was so surprised by this that he glanced down at the girl, confusion knitting his brow. However, she was either just as astonished or repulsed by her own actions because she quickly yanked her touch away from him as if she’d been shocked. He imagined that this had just been a reflex to keep the two men apart, but Morrison couldn’t help thinking that she still felt some gratitude toward him for letting her get eaten and she didn’t want to see him getting hurt anymore than she wanted the OldMan to get injured.
"I just want to go home,"
Morrison had to agree that that’s all he wanted to do too, but he would have to go to work after this and try his hardest not to rip anyone’s head off before the day was over. Perhaps his boss would just stick him in the lab all day so that he wouldn’t have to interact with anyone, though he might end up destroying some equipment if he became frustrated with anything. Come to think of it, he could just be sent straight home; they had done it in the past when he’d come to work incredibly riled up because they knew how much of a problem he could become.
Letting out a deep breath in a frustrated huff, the wolf finally turned away from Lexine and the OldMan, putting a hand to an overly hot forehead. His face must be bright read by now, that was a bit embarrassing. Where was Jeena to get this girl’s stuff back to her? Just as he was thinking that, he caught her moving into the doorway out of the corner of his eye and he looked over at her, but she didn’t walk into the room to give Mercy her things, she remained standing just inside the room and beckoned for Morrison to come over to her. Frowning, the wolf went up to the doctor, muttering “What?” The woman glanced over at Lexine, half-heartedly trying to hide the bundle she held in her arms. “We couldn’t find her weapons,” she whispered, looking worried. “I think security took them, but it’s going to take a little while to get them back.” The wolf stared at her for a moment. “Fucking hell…” He muttered. The doctor pursed her lips at the foul language but she understood what he was thinking. This was all getting worse.
“Well?” Morrison sighed, “what do you want me to do about it?” Jeena shook her head softly then pressed the jacket and shoes she held into his hands. “You brought her here, you tell her.” The wolf practically growled at this, he didn’t want to take the blame! “I didn’t lose her shit.” “Nor did I.” The woman quickly retorted, straightening herself. “Iivan’s bloody useless, so you’re going to take care of the mess you created for yourself.” Morrison glared at her for a good long second before sighing, relaxing his expression and turning to walk over to Mercy. To make this less painful, he would come out with the bad news quickly. “Your sai seem to be missing,” he said as calmly as he could manage, handing the girl her things. “But we’ll be able to get them back; it just might take some time.” Internally, he tensed up, ready to bit or yelled at or something because he was sure that Lexine would blame him for her knives being missing and he already knew how attached she was to them.

Despite still glaring at Morrison Bert allowed Lexi to push him back slightly so he wasn't completely in anyone's personal space but he wasn't happy about it. Why was she trying to protect this man? If he wasn't a dealer then he must be something otherwise she would never bother with him and the comment from only a few minutes earlier was enough to confirm his suspicions- to have helped her he had to have known what was going on and no one brought a stranger to a place like this if they didn't feel guilty for their part. He just had to work out why he was guilty and what he had to do with his ward. Not a dealer. He looked over the male again before looking at Lexi. From the way she had reacted when he had entered the room there was something there that she didn't want known. Huh. Maybe he was a pimp? Something like that. Seemed reasonable to him.
Lexi herself meanwhile was placing herself back onto the bed. Although her knees had locked into place she was still feeling a little crappy. Sitting down helped...it also helped her keep her glare level with Bert so she could make sure he did nothing else to upset the creature in the room with them. She really did not want to be here any longer than possible and Bert acting up was not helping that.
She looked to the side and watched as the wolf put a hand to his rather red face and she wondered briefly if it was because he was hot or embarrassed to be seen in a place like this with a girl like her. Afterall, she could imagine what the people around the place were probably whispering. A guy like him carrying a girl like her unconscious and nameless (or whatever). Yeah. She knew full well how people viewed her and she allowed it, acting up to the stereotype. They thought she was a cutter and a user and to some extent that was true...the scars on her arms fueled the one idea and the drugs fulled the other. Idiots. But it worked well to her advantage.
It was when the door opened again that she broke her self assessment and she turned to see the doctor come in with her arms full of her missing boots and jacket. When she didn't come in straight away Lexi allowed herself to frown. There was something going on there and when Morrison moved to go nearer her suspicions were confirmed. There was something going on here and whatever it was couldn't be good.
Finally they decided one whatever they were talking about and he came back to her with her clothes. She took them off him wordlessly as he came out with what the whispered discussion had been about.
“Your sai seem to be missing,”
Wait. What?
She looked at the male as her fingers clenched into her jacket- the only indication that she was not taking this well.
Those goddamn thieving bastards! You couldn't even trust the hospital to keep your stuff safe (not that she had ever thought you could but still!). She placed her things on the bed beside her and picked up a boot and lifted a leg up so she could start to pull it on.
She ignored him saying they would get them straight away, instead concentrating on getting dressed so she could leave. She tried to keep herself calm and collected but something like this was unforgivable. How dare they lose something so important and valuable? She pulled her jeans up slightly so she could tie the laces, pulling the cord a little more tightly than was needed.
She looked at Bert and nodded towards the doctor. "Would you go and pay the bill please?" Then she looked at Jeena, "I hope you find my things before I leave..." There was a cold bite to her tone of voice, as if she were trying incredibly hard to keep herself from doing something she might regret. "Otherwise I shall have to look myself."
Bert coughed, stepped back and moved to the door. "After you," He motioned to Jeena to leave the room first, trying to be a gentleman. He really hoped they had her Sai around here somewhere because he knew how much they meant to her. He dreaded to think what she would do in order to get them back.
As soon as Bert had left the room Lexi had pulled her other boot on and was now standing up so she could get her jacket on. She felt better for it, glad that her scars were now out of view- she was very self conscious about them and it helped knowing that he might not ask about them again any time soon.
Speaking of not asking anything she looked to the male and tilted her head slightly looking at him. He looked tired. Not that she cared or anything...
"Thanks," She finally decided to say, the only thing that seemed sensible and non threatening in her current state of mind. She moved towards him and for a moment just stood there before going onto her toes and pressing her lips against his cheek. It had been a very brief kiss and she moved away faster than when she had pulled her hand away from his chest.
"Never come near me again," She hissed as she stepped back away from him. Spinning on her heel she moved towards the door planning to meet Bert in the hallway or reception....
((feel free to stop her lol))

Morrison was relieved, though not visibly, that Lexine hadn’t gone off on him, since he probably would have punched in her in the nose if she had. He supposed that she knew that, to an extent, because, after all, he was a violent, bloodthirsty werewolf. It was nice of people to think of him that way; they would stay the hell away. Clearly, though, that wasn’t the only thing Mercy thought of him, he was a beast, foremost, and… some other thing, yet he wasn’t yet sure what that was, and he wouldn’t be too sad if he never found out. To not find out would mean to be away from this girl.
He stepped back from her, taking a slight detour around her to get his jacket from off of the bed. The wolf pulled the jacket on, standing a bit back again to watch Mercy get dressed in such an angry way, being rather passive aggressive on her shoes. Perhaps she imagined that the laces were curled around Morry’s neck and that she was able to strangle him with them. That would at least be what he was thinking, if he hadn’t already decked the person he’d thought responsible for stealing his stuff. Seriously, why didn’t she try to beat him around a little bit? Fear would stay her hand for second, but anger was so much more powerful… Well, never mind, he might have enjoyed a fight, but not with this girl and certainly not in the clinic.
At the mentioning, again, of payment, Morrison glanced over at Jeena, whose eyebrows had raised slightly, the look he knew very well to be of exasperation. However, she was polite as she ever was and she merely looked over at the OldMan, acknowledging the one who should be paying her. Only, she was pulled to turn her eyes back to Mercy. "I hope you find my things before I leave... Otherwise I shall have to look myself." The woman’s lip twitched softly, obviously fed up with the girl’s attitude, yet her voice remained soft and quiet when she spoke. “We’ll get them to you as soon as possible.”
A few moments passed in tense silence before the OldMan coughed and the wolf and Jeena looked over at him. "After you," The doctor, smiling at the first show of politeness she’d seen in a while, nodded thankfully, and moved out of the room after shooting Morrison a warning glance. Keep your teeth to yourself, it said.
Sighing, the man turned away from the door to look back to Lexine, waiting for her to get herself situated before following her out. She apparently was quite glad to have her jacket back on; he could tell that her shoulders relaxed just a bit when the heavy fabric settled onto her back. It must be those scars on her arms, having them hidden from sight so that it wasn’t tempting for anyone to ask about them, even people that knew they existed. Out of sight, out of mind.
Finished and satisfied with her wardrobe, Morrison expected Mercy to get out of that room as quickly as possible and find that OldMan again, but instead, she stayed in place, staring over at him, head cocked to the side as if thinking. He blinked and stared back, not sure what to do or what exactly was going on. He had gotten the feeling earlier that she didn’t like him so much, so it made no sense that she should stick around him when she didn’t have to. It confused him even more when she uttered a short "Thanks." He nodded in response, muttering “No problem.” Though he lied, all this had ruined his day, yet he wasn’t going to blame the girl for it, it was Iivan’s fault, wherever that bastard was.
Now, what was she doing? The wolf watched her quietly, staring her straight in the eyes, as she walked over to him, standing close enough so that he could have grabbed her if he wanted. And then she leaned up, quickly pressing her lips to his cheek, catching him completely off guard. He resisted the urge to laugh, instead registering her with a deep frown, glad that his face was already so red because he was sure he’d be blushing. This was just weird…
"Never come near me again,"
“Hold on,” Morrison stepped forward as Lexine started to trot away and grabbed her arm tightly, dragging her back toward him and turning her to face him. “What was that all about?” He kept a tight hold on her, partly because he didn’t notice he still held her and to keep her in place. His eyes locked onto her, gazing at her in confusion and curiosity. Right now, he’d like to make a comment about this always happening to him (and it sort of did, young humans getting pissed at him and ending up kissing him) but he felt that it would be in poor taste and he wasn’t keen on upsetting Lexine anymore.
(( Still gotta get rid of Bert... ))

Lexi had been more than glad to feel the door handle beneath her fingertips and she had almost turned it to open the door when the male grabbed her arm, pulling her back towards him. With a surprised yelp she stumbled backwards until he grabbed her other arm turning her around to face him.
“What was that all about?”
She didn't like being this close to him and whilst she had placed her hand and lips on his person already that had been for only a brief moment. This holding onto her so she couldn't move violated every personal bubble she had and she really hated it. How dare he hold her like this! She tried to ignore that he was holding her so tightly as she stared up into his eyes, her own angry at being treated in such a manner. What right did he have to do this? She hoped his female friend came back- she seemed able to keep in him check and Lexi knew she wasn't really up to fighting anyone right now thanks to her stint in this place.
"Let go of me!" She hissed as she attempted to pull herself out of his grasp, her legs moving to brace herself in case he did let go at the same time (she did NOT want to fall flat on her arse thank you very much).
Honestly, how could he over react to a bloody kiss on the cheek? She had wanted to say thank you but was in no way comfortable with giving him money, her name or address. A quick peck had been the only thing to pop into her head and she had already started to regret it before he had grabbed onto her. Now it was something she would have to block from her mind...something she would never have to think back on. What was she thinking? Kissing a flipping wolf of all things! She was losing it. She had betrayed everything she had believed in...she had promised she would never get this close to a wolf unless it meant she was about to stick her Sai deep into their body.
She was disgusted with herself. She should have known that saying or doing anything good towards one of his kind was just setting herself up for trouble.
She glared up defiantly into the man's curious gaze. "Let. Me.Go." She didn't care what he was, no one treated her like this and like any other male she had no doubt that a good swing between the legs would bring him to his knees...and she wasn't above fighting dirty- in fact she took great pride in the fact she wasn't bound by 'good sportsmanship'. Her gaze only broke for a moment in order for her to turn her head when the cough fought its way up her throat. It wasn't as bad a cough as the night before but it still shook her body. Bloody cold. She would have to remember to pick some antibiotics up or something.
------------- Bert meanwhile had followed the doctor towards the reception, pulling his wallet out as he did so with a sigh. He could not believe that he was having to do this...Lexi wasn't the kind of girl to get herself into places like this and this place was obviously high end. Damn girl was going to cost him a fortune!
"I'm sorry about my ward...she has no people skills." He commented as he fished about for the correct card- Lexi might not approve of banks but he had to when it came to places like this...good thing he had plenty put away. "I hope she wasn't too rude to you and your staff....she doesn't like these places." He paused and gave a lop sided smile. "How much do we owe you?" He held the card up, "And I hope you take this."
He looked about him curiously, "Nice place this is," He commented mostly to himself. Yeah, this was certainly not the kind of place he expected to be called to. If the girl was going to a doctor it was usually one of those street ones who seemed to do more damage than needed or she fixed herself up. He had lost count of the times he had come to her flat to give it the once over only to find a mix of bloody bandages and fresh drugs. The girl was a walking disaster and he was counting down to the day she had a complete collapse. He just hoped that man in the room with her had nothing to do with it because if he did Bert would kill him himself.

Morrison may have over reacted a bit to that kiss, though he was tired, frustrated, and honestly a bit randy (but wasn't he always? he just held it in well). Good thing he wasn't hungry or drunk on top of that! He could just imagine what he would have done then. At least he should have realized how tight he was holding onto Lexine's arm; she would be lucky if she didn't get a bruise. Yet her "Let go of me!" only caused him to grasp her tighter before his grip loosened again. However, he didn't let her go as she had commanded him to, not done with her yet and, feeling her leaning back, not wanting her to fall on her bum. If that look on Mercy’s face, one of stubbornness and anger, had made him feel guilty, he would have definitely released, but as it always was, other people’s rage fueled his own. He would have let her be if she’d looked scared. She was a strong girl though and she wasn’t about to be intimidated by him, knowing that she would likely not be hurt in here. Being just as aware of this, Morrison let his expression fall from curious to irritated, staring back at the girl with cold eyes. "Let. Me. Go." - - - - - - - - - - - Fucking wolves. Jeena loved Morrison and Iivan, really, but they were such a pain for her and her staff. She tried to ignore it most of the time, but she couldn’t help but catch the nurses sometimes whispering to each other about the three and it was especially bad today with this strange girl coming in and then her guardian following. What had Iivan been thinking? He’d lost his mind since getting his face broke. But hopefully this wouldn’t ever happen again and they’d all forget about today. Though that might be a bit optimistic of her. The doctor stopped at the reception desk and turned the man as he apologized for Lexine. "I hope she wasn't too rude to you and your staff....she doesn't like these places." The woman shook her head softly, smiling understandingly. “It’s alright, most people don’t. Really, I think she took waking up here quite well.” Most people she had in here came in screaming their heads off and many that found themselves here after being knocked out were effectively freaked out and tried to run out. The girl Morrison had brought in, by contrast, had been very calm, if not incredibly agitated. And Jeena had forgotten if the girl had even uttered a curse once. She probably had… At the man’s holding up the card and asking for how much he was paying, she him a price that was lower than it should have been, seeing as Morry had already paid, but she didn’t make it sound unreasonable; Lexine had been pretty adamant about not letting the wolf pay for her. She then took the credit card from him and handed it over to the nurse sitting behind the desk, repeating the figure for her before turning back to the older man as he looked around himself. "Nice place this is," She smiled over at him, appreciating the comment. “It’s one of the best clinics in the area. It’s just a shame that we can’t hold more than a few dozen people at a time.” Her smile faded just a bit, noticing the look on his face. This wasn’t the sort of place he was used to, or that he was to finding Lexine in. Well, she was sort of glad that she’d come here instead of somewhere… shady, first, even if it were for a stupid reason. It was have been nice if she’d been able to run some tests though, that coughing Morrison had mentioned didn’t sound good. She was about to mention this to the man when she realized that Morrison hadn’t left the room, nor had the girl. “Where are those two?” she wondered allowed, glancing over at the man then moving past him and back down the hall to the room Lexine had been placed in. A frustrated yell was barely held back when she came into the doorway, seeing the wolf there leaning toward the girl, her arm held tight in one of his fists. “Morrison!” she growled, “What are you doing?” - - - - - - - - - - - The man hadn’t registered footsteps approaching the room and so he jumped when he heard his friend’s voice, frustrated and warning. His head snapped around to look at her then he glanced back to Mercy, dropping his hold of her and backing up. Honestly, he had no idea why Jeena had such power over him to keep him from being a violent, vindictive ass, but it was incredibly welcome sometimes, since she could keep him from doing so many things he might regret later. Though, he was already regretting this, as he noticed that the OldMan had been standing right behind the doctor. Great, this guy already had it out for him, what would he be thinking now?

Had Lexi been the type of girl to be afraid of every person she bumped into she wouldn't be in this situation right now...unfortuantly for her her desire to survive blasted every ounce of common sense from her mind. As she glared up into the eyes of the wolf she didn't see the man who had saved her life, she saw a man who was more than ready to kill or seriously hurt her and not for the first time questioned her own judgment and actions of even trusting the bastard even an inch. This man was a wolf and that would never change. his nature was to kill and hers was to fight back and survive.
Which would explain why she wasn't quivering in fear right now, instead her eyes had narrowed and she felt like hissing at him. How dare he hold her in such a way? What gave him the right to act better than her? She knew full well she got under the skin of pretty much everyone she met but she had never been against someone like this- someone who didn't care about the person before him. Hell, even she was sorry to get rid of her opponents in the cages and even said so but still...she doubted this man could ever feel sorry for his actions. The way he acted right now seemed to prove her thoughts.
Just for a moment the hold on her arm tightened and her thoughts went to how big the bruise was going to be tomorrow morning before flying in the opposite direction to something she hated thinking about.
The memory that flashed through her head was a familiar but painful one and she almost allowed a whimper to escape her lips as she relived the memory that haunted her dreams- the day her brother started to get abusive. It was almost like she was there again. She could smell the booze on his breath, felt the tips of his fingers dig into her skin and saw the fist come flying towards her face. She visible flinched...
...Just as the door opened and the furious voice of the doctor cut through the air.
“What are you doing?”
It was as if the pair of them snapped back to reality and her arm was released. Lexi immediately took two steps back away from the wolf and looked back to see both the doctor and Bert coming into the room properly- both sporting furious expressions although the look on Bert's face caused even her to worry about what was going to happen and she knew him well enough to know that he usually would never hurt even a fly.
Bert, who had followed the woman through after paying the bill had maybe expected the two of them to be locked in some sort of embrace but he had not thought they would be locked in this kind. He moved further into the room, his face dark as he eyed the man up. He should have known better than to leave his ward here alone...he should have insisted that she went ahead of him into the hallway. At least this would have been avoided! He briefly wondered why this was happening before deciding he didn't care one ounce- this man was obviously dangerous and he was not amused.
"You son offa-" He was cut off as Lexi took a step forward, her arm moved back before it moved to punch him. Her eyes were dark in thunderous anger, her lips set in a thin line. Her very body quivered as she held herself back from doing more than a slap and her hand stung a little as she pulled it back, flexing her fingers as she did so. Bert was impressed...although he doubted the other two in the room would be.
"If you come near me again I will kill you," Her voice was low and held nothing but promises. She was deadly serious and she did not need her Sai to do the deed. Lexi was more than happy to do it with her bare hands...it was a lot more personal and right now she wouldn't say no to doing both him and his other insane wolf friend some serious damage.
Most of her anger was because of him touching her, another part was aimed at the fact he was part of the reason she had just lost some of her savings and a large part was because she hated the way she had been reminded of a memory that caused particular agony for her. His questions on her scars was one thing (and she had been an idiot for even thinking she could share her past with this monster) but she could not allow him to touch her as if he had the right to hold her back. He had no right! He had no right to invoke the memories of her family!
She moved away from him and quick as a flash was next to Bert. "Lets go." Her voice was low, angry but there was just a tiny sliver of pain in her voice that betrayed her thoughts. She had not been afraid of him before but now she was afraid of the thoughts he brought up in her mind and she hated it. No. She wanted to get out and she wanted it now.
Bert looked at her before giving a nod and turning to the doctor pulled out a card and handed it out to her. "This is a PO box address...when you find her Sai will you post it to that address?" He looked at the male before looking at her again. "I am sorry for the trouble caused." Well, he was sorry for what Lexi had caused but he felt the male was well deserved in her actions. Lexi gave only the barest of nods before she disappeared out of the room, moving to the end of the hallway to wait for Bert.
Bert himself looked at the man. "If you come near her again she won't get a chance to kill you...I'll do it first." He warned before he to left the room, moving past Lexi and going outside to start the car.
Getting in he started it and waited for his ward to come- hoping that nothing else would happen.

That look the OldMan was giving him… He hated that look. A similar expression had already settled on Lexine’s face, but it was almost insulting on her gaurdian. He seemed to be a man more clam than most and his face wasn’t lined with anger as Morrison’s was. So, to see such a look of fury on him was worrying, that the wolf could easily provoke such a strong emotion from him when he clearly tried not to get pissed at everyone that looked at him funny.
Damn Iivan for bringing this on him! It would have been nice to go just one day without having to deal with all of this drama, but the man couldn’t be satisfied with just chasing after some homeless man, he had to go for this young human. Well, if he thought he was staying at the apartment tonight, he was sorely mistaken.
"You son offa-"
Morrison had prepared to fight, fists clenching at his sides and his jaw clenching, waiting for any hit. Yet, when Mercy moved toward him, the OldMan fell back. He looked the girl straight in the eyes, registering the rage there and not doubting that she would act on it. Her raised hand suddenly made contact with his cheek, stinging slightly, and he turned his head away, biting the inside of his lip in order to keep himself from retaliating. A little gasp escaped Jeena, still in the doorway, and he knew that she was afraid that he would knock the girl out again, but he was surprisingly restrained. "If you come near me again I will kill you," He had to believe that she would at least try to kill him, her tone was so resolute, and though he didn’t think she would be able to succeed in taking his life, he was sure she could seriously injure him, possibly even worse than Iivan had been hurt.
The wolf kept his eyes averted to the side as Lexine moved away from him and over to her guardian, afraid that he might have a fit if he looked her full on again. He shouldn’t have thought that he could have helped her, that she would have wanted his help, and he wouldn’t have blamed her if she hadn’t because he didn’t offer the sort of assistance that produced immediate results and you had to suffer a bit in the beginning.
"Lets go."
His eyes shifted over to look at Mercy, recognizing a tinge of fear in her tone and feeling slightly regretful because of it, knowing it was his fault that it was there. He knew now that he’d seriously screwed himself over when it came to gaining her trust, pretty sure that if he did ever happen to see her again, she would try to get as far away from him as fast as possible. That would have been fine with him if he hadn’t been feeling so concerned for her. The coughing worried him, those scars too, whatever they were from, and he was intrigued to hear more about her, even though, with the current state of things, he was sure that would be a useless and foolish endeavor.
Once more training his gaze anywhere but on Lexine, Morrison looked to the OldMan, handing the doctor a card with an address and asking her to mail the girl’s Sai there. The wolf knew this was a stupid idea, seeing as how difficult it was to send weapons, but he kept his mouth shut, figuring he’d done plenty of damage already. Then as the human turned to look back at him, he glanced down to the floor, feeling that his apology was highly unnecessary. Mercy had acted as she was expected to, the two wolves were the ones who’d been irrational asses, they should be saying sorry, but Morrison was sure any more ‘sorries’ would fall on deaf ears.
As the girl now left the room, he kept his eyes downcast, for the most part ignoring the OldMan’s threat toward him; Lexine was more intimidating toward him, having the sort of murderous instinct the other human lacked. Jeena walked out after the man had left, shooting the wolf a confused, worried look, before disappearing out of the door. Morrison only stood in place for a while, staring at the wall, then slowly sunk down to sit on the gurney, leaning forward to rest his elbows on his knees. His head was buzzing, filled with too many thoughts for him to sort anything out. He reached around the back of his neck and pulled up one of the chains that was wrapped about it, yanking it over his head. He placed the tag on the end of the chain on his palm and stared at it for a while, the finger of his other hand tracing over the raised letters of Meadhbh’s name. It didn’t make any sense to him, but holding his friend’s old dog-tags always calmed him down, he could think clearly and sit still for a moment. Right now though, he didn’t bother trying to think, he was just glad to finally have a relaxed moment that day.
After Jeena had bid goodbye to Lexine and the older man, promising that the girl’s sai would be to her soon, she went back inside to find Morrison, to tell him to go home. As she suspected, he was still sitting in the same room, only he was much more quiet that she expected and she would have been glad for it if she hadn’t noticed the tags in his hand. She didn’t want him to start crying…
“We can’t send her sai in the mail, you know?” the man said softly, looking up to his friend when she walked over to sit next to him. “Yah,” she muttered, placing her hands in her lap. “I’m going to get one of the nurses to bring them to her after the security office releases them.”
“Let me do it,” Morry said, placing the necklace back around his neck but not bothering to tuck it under his collar. “Morrison,” Jeena started, sighing. “I can contain myself,” he assured her, “and I need to apologize. That’s the last she’ll see of me after that.” The doctor contemplated what he said for a moment, shook her head and sighed. “I’ll get you her address,” Jeena said, standing and brushing off her crinkled lab coat. “Thanks,” the wolf said, also getting to his feet. “How’d you get her name anyway?” The woman smiled softly and shrugged. “Apparently one of the nurses recognized her, she used to work the streets of something… I didn’t ask.” He responded with a lame “Oh,” and followed the woman out of the room.
The two made their way to the back of building where security was located and the two were forced to wait for a few minutes while paperwork was filled out, signed, notarized, what have you. Morrison thought this was a bit too much fuss over a few knives, but this being a hospital and all, he supposed they couldn’t be too careful. Eventually, the sai were handed over to Jeena who transferred them to the wolf once they were back out in the front of the building. Iivan was waiting there when they walked into the lobby and the two wolves greeted each other with polite nods. “Wanna go home?” Morrison asked his friend, doing to best to keep bitterness out of his voice. “Yah,” the other man said wearily, no longer smiling as he usually was. Morry nodded and looked up to Jeena who was walking back over, having left to get Lexine’s address. He hoped this would all be simple enough; he would take Iivan home and then drive over to Mercy’s house to give her her sai back and then (maybe) leave without causing anymore trouble. He just wasn’t sure how long it would take the girl to be driven home, though he guessed 20 minutes would be long enough.
