”Tahmores, if you don't want to change, I'm not going to make you"
"I'll do it. I just feel obliged to give you warnings that's all, I'm a little nervous about it really. I've never changed in front of someone who wante to see it, the only other person that's seen me change like you're about to is my best friend and he's a wolf too... And I kind made him that way". The turning of Kris from human to wolf is a guilt that he'll always have even though his friend has said that he has forgiven Tahmores for doing it. It had been an accident, he'd been defending Kris from muggers on the beach when he'd been thrown off of one of them and out of instinct had gone to try to grab onto anything to catch himself, it just happened that the thing he grabbed onto was Kris's shoulder with his teeth. It wasn't until a few months later that Tah' told Kris that it was him who had done it and he'd taken the anger that Kris had felt towards him readily. He always thought that crimes should be repayed in kind; a murderer should be killed, a thief be stripped of everything they owned. It was a harsh kind of justice but one that his father had also carried out within the pack.
”So, tell me a bit about the changing. I'd imagine it takes a lot out of you"
He laughs a little. "That's a bit of an understatement. See, when the change happens I can feel every single break in my bones, I can feel my organs shifting around inside my body and as you can guess it hurts. When the pain gets so much that I think I can't take it anymore my mind just shuts down and I black out. When my mind starts back up again I'm in my wolf form. How our bodies survive through it all I have no idea, it's a pure miracle that nothing goes wrong, that during the change to wolf or back to human ther change is perfect every time".”Are you going to want to eat anything as a wolf? I can't really understand canine... so it'd be best if I had this stuff out, like, now and ready" ”And if you're too tired to go home tomorrow, you can always crash in my room and I'll sleep on the couch". "I'll be fine for food, though afterwards when I'm back in my human form I'll probably be hungry. It doesn't take much to understand what we're saying, it's all in the gestures and sounds we make, it's easy to pick up on really". "I'd feel better if you were able to sleep in your own bed, I'd hate to be putting you out like that". "You just stay on the couch okay, don't approach me, anything could happen as the human mind gives way to the animal mind, I'd hate to accidently hurt you".
He stands up and walks a few feet away from Anna-Leigh, removing his gun and a few knives he has on his person, then removes his shirt so that it doesn't get torn up during the change. Breathing out slowly he closes his eyes. For a moment there is nothing, then the faint sound of cracking. He brow furrows as the pain starts. The bones in his hands snao apart and bend, his elbows and knees making a sickening crack as they invert. He falls forwards a little on his unstable feet, his hair lengthening and spreads over his entire body. Suddenly his face pushes forwards, as if someone had punched him in the back of the head and gone strait through. Sharp teeth start to fill his mouth. He turns his head a little to look at Anna-Leigh before his mind blacks out to shield him from the immense pain that is to come. Althought he doesn't know he's doing it Tahmores is whimpering and doing all he can to not scream as he lays on the floor writhing in pain.
After twenty minutes the change in complete. Where Tahmores was there now stands a large dark brown and black wolf with a clouded eye and an almost bare foreleg where his tattoo would be as a human. Slowly the wolf stands up and looks at the human girl, his ears flicking around to catch the sounds of the apartment. He takes a few steps towards Anna-Leigh, his head held high, he had always been told to carry himself with pride and confedence around others.

To say that it was the most horrible thing to watch may or may not be an understatement. There was that one viewing of natural childbirth that Anna-Leigh was forced to watch back in Parenting classes in high school. So really, she was innerly debating about which was worse. At least with the childbirth video, there wasn't any cracking of the bones, though. Her jaw clenched as Tahmores' face twisted and elongated while somehow shrinking. That was probably the worst part, watching the face deform. Or perhaps the part where the fangs seemed to rip out of his open mouth. Either way, it was hardly pleasant, and Anna-Leigh found herself with her teeth clenched, trying to look impassive while she mostly wanted to vomit. Fur began thickening from what had been soft, downy, dark human body hair, and soon the body was covered. There were a few loud snaps and cracks, and then it was all mostly over. Okay. Changing: 11; Giving Birth: 10. She'd definitely give her points to the werewolves on this one.
After the average of twenty minutes of horrid noises, a wolf stood in front of her. With the bald patches from the tattoos, he looked rather beaten up. Other wise he looked like a strong, healthy wolf. Given, a slightly larger-then-average wolf, but still a wolf nonetheless. He was a beautiful... what was the term that would fit in here? Specimen? Creature? Human? Thing? She didn't really know, and while all seemed to apply, none seemed right for what he'd just gone through. It had been horrible, yes, but what must it be like to no longer be 'human'? To be able to hear a thousand fold? Smell a million fold? Which made her wonder if he could hear her heart beat, if he could smell her. What did she smell like? She hoped she smelled good. She, personally, thought she smelled good, but what of someone who could smell miles away, who had such intense abilities such as he?
Finally, she manged to swallow and stand and face the wolf. She eyed him momentarily before sinking down to her knees, gently raising her hand and brushing his furry cheek. ”So... This is you as a wolf, hm?” She wasn't very scared. Yes, she admitted there was an amount of the terrifying emotion creeping into her lungs and chest, but over-all she was mystified. She couldn't take her eyes off the wolf, and gently scratched him behind the ear. A wince crossed her body, and then she pulled back, ”Sorry, you're kinda cute as a wolf, you know. I mean, as far as wolves go.” She frowned, ”Well, it really is awkward talking with you when you can't talk back.” She chuckled again, and now wasn't quite sure what to do. She inspected him again, ”I suppose it wouldn't be too hilarious to suggest something like tug-of-war, then, hm?” She cracked a smile, unsure whether that offended him or not, but hoping it wouldn't.
((Sorry it took so long to get here. Mid-terms apparently means the teachers swamp us with assignments that I actually have to do xP. Then my dog died =S so anywho, sorry I took so long to post >.<))

It felt good to be in his wolf form again. He always feels more in touch with the animal side of himself, in touch with the wild, the land and nature itself. He could smell and hear things that no human would be able to pick up. Running through the woods and streets, the wind whistling past his ears and the scenery around him blurring. His wolf form is an escape from everything else, a way to leave all his human troubles behind if only for a little while.
Been so close to her he can semll the scent of her; the smell of her perfume, the persperation on her skin. Tahmores make a soft huffing sound that could be a laugh and rubs his head against her hand as she scratches his cheek. It was a pity that she couldn't know what he was saying when he growled and barked. The language barrier between werewolves and other species has caused a great deal of misunderstandings over the years. A wolf would make a movement to show submission or that they meant no harm, but a human or vampire would take this as a sign of aggression or ill will. Tahmores could only hope that Anna-Leigh didn't take anything he did the wrong way to think that he is going to hurt her. His ear flicks a little as she scratches behind it, a reaction to the feeling.
At her suggestion of a tug-of-war game Tahmores moves forwards a bit and bumps his head against her shoulder to show that he thought it was a good idea and not anything that would offend him. He sits down beside her to wait for her to find something they could use for the 'rope'. He wanted to tell her that it couldn't be something that would tear easily since his teeth would cut through the material too easily and it wouldn't be a fair game. Then again he been in his wolf form and she a human it wouldn't be a fair game no matter what material they used. Sitting beisde her he almost looks as if he is guarding Anna-Leigh. His head high and ears pricked up to catch any sounds inside or outside the apartment.

The wolf’s large head nudged her shoulder, and she hesitantly scratched his head, her fingers rubbing the skin beneath. She watched him curiously, her eyes rarely straying from the lupine coat he adorned. There was the moment of silence, where all they did was sit there and stare at each other. ”So you do want to play tug-of-war?” The response he’d given her so far hinted at: “Yes, yes he did.” ”Okay then. I’ll be right back.” She told him, giving him a light rub on the head before getting up to look around the apartment for a bit of rope or something. She brought out a shoelace and the rope for around one of her house coats. ”I have a strong feeling this would break.” She laughed, tossing the shoelace aside.
That left the blue, rather thick draw string from a house coat she’d had for a long time and now was wearing down. She put the rope thing onto the couch before moving the coffee table out of the way to prevent it from being broken, and pushed to couch back to allow them more room. They had their playing field, and from her bedroom, she could hear Mane’s complaining. Ah, he’d shut up sooner or later. She doubted it would be a good idea to let him out while Tahmores was in his wolf form; silly cat would probably attack him or something. So instead of following through with the cat’s protests, Anna-Leigh ignored him and focused her attention on the werewolf in her room.
”It’s a foreign concept to me that someone could possibly be afraid of you.” She began on a comment. ”I mean, you seem pretty harmless to me.” Her mind flashed back to his change, when she’d seen the huge fangs sprouting forth from his jaws. ”Okay, maybe not completely harmless, but you wouldn’t hurt me, right?” She asked, kneeling again in front of the wolf. Her eyes met his, and she smiled, completely trusting of him.
”You’re probably going to kick my butt.” She muttered under her breath to him, then sticking her tongue out playfully. Grabbing the rope, she held an end out to him, and once he had a hold of it, let go and gripped her end tightly, preparing herself to be yanked off her feet.

He sits waiting patiently for her to come back with whatever she had found that could be used in their game. When she comes back and he sees the shoelace Tahmores whines a little, his way of agreeing with her that it wouldn't be the best thing to use given that he would be able to tear it apart just by chewing on it for a minute or so. A bark when she shows the coat-cord tells her that he likes that better. His ears twist around at the sound of the cat meowing to be let out of the room. Tah' wouldn't feel any inclination to attack the feline though he couldn't say what the cat would do. For now it's best that Mane stay in the room and away from the two, Tahmores would hate to accidently hurt Anne-Leighs pet out of reaction if it did attack him.
She doubted that anyone could be afraid of him? Shaking his head Tahmores opens his mouth to show the sharp teeth inside his jaws then snaps his mouth shut. The whole action could be seen as aggressive towards Anne-Leigh but as soon as he has shown his new friend the teeth, a reason that people should be afraid of him, he picks up an end of the rope in his teeth. Once she has braced herself for the pulling Tahmores pulls back on the rope though not hard enough to make her fall forwards.
Playfully he growls, shaking his head quickly to twist the rope in Anne-Leighs hands in an attempt to make her let go so that he could win this game. His wolf brain wanted to win and knew that he could easily pull the rope out of the girls hands but his human mind that is still present stops him from doing this, it would make the game be over too easily.

When he suddenly started tugging and whipping his head side-to-side in an attempt to throw her off, Anna-Leigh cracked a smile. She wasn’t going to let go that easily. She tugged the rope sharply, going a bit softer when it suddenly jerked his head forward with the movement. She didn’t want to give him whiplash or something along those lines. Tugging it firmly, she tried to back up to hook herself around the couch, but found herself being held pretty firmly in place. She tugged harder and only managed to gain about a centimetre before being pulled forward slightly.
She gritted her teeth slightly and braced her feet onto the ground and pulled as hard as she could. All she managed to do was slide suddenly to the ground and land hard on her bum, causing the air to momentarily whoosh out of her. She sat there a moment in slight shock before focusing on the werewolf and breaking out into laughter. She rolled over onto her back, still laughing as tears from its intensity burst into her eyes.
Eventually, her laughter faded, but she remained laying on the ground, stomach curving in from the gravity and position. Her breathing calmed eventually, and she rolled to her side, fixing her eyes on the wolf with a grin. ”Maybe we should find a different game that I won’t hurt myself on.” She chuckled.
((Sorry, it's pretty short >.< ))

Part of him felt a little bad for Anna-Leigh that she didn't have the strength to overpower him and have any chance of winning this game, but a larger part of him didn't really care, he just wanted to win and have fun. He moves forwards a little as Anna-Leigh moves back, not letting his grip on the rope slack any. With a single pull Tahmores could easily pull the rope out of her hands, but he'd promised himself he wouldn't hurt her in any way and that meant giving her rope burn. Twisting his head a few more times Tahmores feel the rope drop and hears the sound of Anna-Leigh falling over. The rope held in his teeth is instantly forgotten and droped as he moves over to the fallen human to see if she is okay and unharmed. As he comes near to her Anna starts laughing, a sure sign that she is fine. Relieved Tahmores growls and shakes his head, a way of telling her that he was worried that she might have been hurt.
Tahmores lays beside her on the ground, his paws reaching out to just touch her, his head rested between them and he looks up at her with almost sad 'puppy dog eyes'. He stands up and slowly walks around the other side of her, so her back of facing him, lays down and rests his head on her ribs his tail moving from side to side lazily. Been in wolf form wasn't that bad really, for instance he could rest his head on Anna-Leighs side and have it not be seen as any kind of romantic gesture towards her, just an animal wanting to be close to a human.Another game wouldn't be so bad, what he wants to do the most is run. Been inside is making him feel rather cramped and shut in.

When Tahmores came over to her and lay down, she smiled at him. He just looked so incredibly huggable. Like a giant, living teddy bear or something. With his paw gently on her, she reached out and gently stroked his soft side. The eyes he gave her made her smile again. ”You’re just too cute you know?” She muttered to him, trying not to use the ‘baby voice’. It must be kind of degrading when people talk to you like that, so she tried not to. He got up, and she lifted her head to see just where he was going, but settled down again when he merely curled up behind her, resting his head lightly on her ribs. She didn’t think –she hoped- it wasn’t to get closer to her Look a kitty!. In the short time she’d gotten to know Tah, though, she didn’t think he’d try something like that, especially using his adorable little puppy dog charm to get it. She smiled and gently pet his head, reaching up and grabbing a cushion from the couch to rest her own head on so she could still see the wolf. Long hours at worked caused the female to be fairly tired. Soon her eyes began drifting closed. Her fingers were gently entwined in the werewolf’s fur still. At some point of her mind’s flitting between reality and the darkness of sleep, she rolled towards the wolf, curling herself more so around his body, and using his stomach as a sort of pillow. Her hand gently scratched the thick fur by his neck, enjoying the canine smell he gave off as she slowly began drifting off again. ((Lol, he can wake her up if he wants to go out for a jog or something She’ll be up to it, lol.))

He barks happily at her compliment. Some wolves didn't like the way some humans talked to them in their wolf forms like they were common animals but really what did they expect? Humans and vampires can't understand what they're saying and it seemed like something natural for humans to talk to animals with that 'baby voice' so he simply went with it and never made a fuss about it. Tahmores had stayed awake until Anna had gone to sleep. He is glad that she felt comfortable with him been around her in his wolf form. It's always nice to find a human who isn't deathyly afraid of been around a wolf. Once she was sound asleep the wolf allowed himself to also slip into dreams. He had woken up a few hours later, his body 'telling' him that it is time to change back to human. Carefully he gets up so no to wake the girl and picks up the bag he had brought with him in his mouth and pads quietly into the bathroom where he shifts back to human and dresses himself. It always felt strange been back on two legs after been in wolf form for a while. Having fingers, toes and a flat-ish face.
Doing up the buttons of his shirt and rolling up the sleeves Tahmores walks back into the lounge where Anna is sleeping. Careful not to make any sound he sits on the floor and leans back against the side of the couch and closes his eyes once more. Sleep didn't come so easily this time round since his mind had woken up a bit during the change. Sighing softly to himeslf Tah' falls back into a light sleep, the sort of sleep where you're aware of sounds and things going on around you but not totally reacting to them.

The waves crashed around her rumbling the ocean’s glory and rage. Lightning split two clouds, and was followed by the crack of thunder. Anna-Leigh stood there, but she wasn’t herself. She was smaller, more slight, and light as a feather. She felt as if the next wave or gust of wind might pick her up and snap her like a twig. Yet, solid like a rock, she continued to stand, just out of reach of the average wave’s rage. Occasionally, a larger wave would come up and lick her bare toes, freezing her to her bones with its cold. There was a noise beside her, and the Anna-Leigh that wasn’t Anna-Leigh looked down to spot a wolf. It looked similar to Tahmores, yet different in the fact that it lacked a parting of the fur where his tattoos were.
Her head whipped to the sound of cracking as sun-bleached drift wood crashed to the shore, breaking into tiny splinters which, even from where she was standing, managed to spray onto her. She winced when one pierced her skin, yet she failed to feel anything. When she looked back to the wolf, it was silently snarling, and suddenly it jumped. She saw its jowls nearing her throat, but he flew passed her, landing with crunching and snapping onto twigs. It took her a moment to realize the twigs were moving, they were bones. Skeletons crawled from the sands, gaping eye sockets glowing with a black fire. Anna-Leigh screamed-
She jerked awake suddenly and shivered. For a moment, it took her to realize she was on her floor, and she stretched suddenly. Her eyes caught sight of Tahmores and, for a moment forgetting who he was and what he was doing there, she jerked away from him, looking around in confusion. Slowly the night’s events came to her, and she was finally clued in. Her muscles relaxed and she sighed.
Getting up, she made her way to her bedroom, grabbing a fuzzy blanket and bringing it back into the living room. She draped it over the werewolf’s body, and then got up and made her way to the kitchen. Taking some raw bacon and the container with eggs, she searched around for some frying pans, and began fixing the two breakfast. The sizzling of the bacon calmed her as the memories of her dream crept back into her chest, seizing her with an ominous feeling.

The enticing smell of cooking food slowly enters into his dreams. Slowly his open a little, once used to the light Tah' opens his eyes fully. Spending the night on the floor was never a comfortable way to sleep, it always left him feeling stiff. Standing up he stretches out his arms, his shoulder and spine popping a few times. Dropping his arms Tahmores walks into the kitchen where Anna is. "Thanks for the blanket, it was a bit cold last night but I didn't want to go looking for a blanket or anything". He walks up behind her, looking over her shoulder at the food she's cooking. "You cook this for me too? Thanks. I'm not used to someone else cooking for me, guess I should think up a way to repay you somehow". He moves to lean against the counter. "So you have a good time last night? I know playing tug-of-war against a wolf ins't exactly a fair game but it was fun. It's nice to just relax sometimes, let yourself be taken over by the wolf mentallity that just wants to play and have a good time. One thing I am thankful for is that we don't have to change on the full moon. Makes it sort of safer to be around us knowing that we're not going to suddenly go feral on the night of the full moon. The urge to change is just that bit stronger. It would be cool if we were the lycan's of movies. You know the ones that stand on two legs, a mix of man and wolf. Ah well, turning into a normal looking wolf is good enough and it means we wouldn't stand out as much as a bipedal man-wolf running around town".

There was the sound of stirring from the living room, but the human didn’t look up; she knew it was only Tahmores. Only when he entered the kitchen did she look up, and she glanced over to give him a smile. ”Thanks for the blanket.” He told her. ”Anytime.” Was her reply before she went back to check on the bacon. ”You cook this for me too? Thanks.” She laughed, ”No, I only cooked it for myself. No problem.” ”Guess I should think up a way to repay you somehow.”[/color] The girl frowned. ”Tah, you’re my guest, it’s only polite for me to offer my fullest hospitality.” She chuckled then, her head shaking side-to-side as if she couldn’t believe he wanted to repay her for giving him food when he stayed the night.
”So, you have a good time last night?” She grinned and looked up at him, glanced down at the bacon to note it was about half-way done and would be finished within a few minutes, and grabbed the egg carton and a bowl to start cracking and mixing eggs for scrambled eggs. ”I had loads of fun.” This early in the morning it might have seemed as if she only half meant it, but she did. The night before was a blast. ”We should do it again sometime.” She smiled at him, only adding that last part to make sure he didn’t think she hadn’t enjoyed it.
She listened calmly at his explanation of changing, and how he was glad they didn’t change during the full moon. ”…Ah well, turning into a normal looking wolf is good enough and it means we wouldn’t stand out as much as a bipedal man-wolf running around town.” Anna-Leigh burst out laughing. The eggs were beginning to thicken and cook to the side of the pan, and she pushed them around with a spatula. ”Well, like the movies, you also don’t burst into your form. Which I’m kind of glad for, since it would have startled me.”
Pulling out plates, forks, knives, and the works, the placed them on the small table and began putting the finished crispy bacon and scrambled eggs onto the plate, buttering toast once it popped up. Within about three minutes, she was finished everything, and smiled as she stood back, then sat down. ”Time to dig in.”
