I hurried down the street, trying to make my way to the intersection of this crazy place. There was a beauitful, new site that was built on the corner of the street. I took a few steps, in my odd converse. Everyone around here was about style and fashion, while I had your everday, casual outfit on. I was freezing, the tempatures were plumiting as it reached night time. My goal was to get a picture of the chinese agiuculture in the sunset.
I reached the bulding. It was the perfect timing, over in the horizen was oranges and yellows. Looking for my camera, I pulled it out. My brother had gotten me this new nice one for my birthday. I loved it. I basically carry it with me everywhere when out'n'about. I took the snapshot and was satifed with the pictures.
As I sighed walking away, I had to return to my college dorm. It was on the other side of town or so. The sunset was now changing into pinks, purples and blue. Yet the world seemed to be lit up by the street life. I loved it here. I thought I should get ahold of my brother and see if he'll stay here for a while. He was always busy though.
I continued down the street. Looking into the windows full of fancy and expensive things. I had about 20$ right now, that was it. It was the high life here in london pretty much. I hung a left into a common chinese resturant I like to stop at. It was cheap and good enough for me. I took a seat in the corner table and ordered a sweet tea as I looked over my pictures. Wondering if theres something better to be doing right about now. This was my life.

Kat wandered thru the streets of China Town. She looked up at the horizon, pleased to see the sun was now gone and all that was left where some pinks and purples before it got completely dark. She remained in the shadows along the buildings, looking in the different windows of the small shops and boutiques. Tonight seemed like it would be so uneventful for Kat. She pondered at the different things she could do. Nothing stood out to her.
Kat paused in front of a small bookshop to peer into the window. It was more based around art books then anything. Smiling slightly, she pushed open the door to go inside. A small bell hung at the top of the door and jingled when Kat stepped inside. She looked around. It was a small shop, but the store owners had crammed a lot into it. Kt paced around the different rows, looking at the different technique books on how to use oils, acrylics, and water colors.
When Kat walked by a section on drawing different types of dragons and stopped to look at them. She picked up one that showed different ways on drawing eastern styled dragons and looked thru it. Deciding to buy it, she went to the front and paid for it.
As Kat walked out of the store, she went thru the book even more, even as she walked down the street into a Chinese restaurant. Kat ordered a green tea and sat at the front of the restaurant, reading about the different anatomy styles for different dragons.
Kat sighed. She closed the book and looked around the restaurant. It didn't seem all that busy for tonight; there were only about 5 other people in here besides herself. There was a group of three happy looking college students giggling over something. They were speaking a different language though. Probably Chinese, Kat thought. Then there was a waitress sitting near a different window on her break. The fifth person was a blond sitting at a corner table, looking at her camera.
Kat looked outside. Tonight just seemed like it was going to be very boring. She needed to feed, but that was about it.

I sat there sipping on my tea. Mhm, how I loved london's sweet tea. It was made differently or at least tasted different to me. Perhaps it was just because I was raised in america and everything was pretty much different to me. I was still going through my camera as the waitress dropped off another sweet tea for me. I nodded and smiled, muttering a 'thanks' to her. The pictures were mostly nature and pretty sites but I got to some of me and my brother. I missed him alot and seeing these made me sad.
I looked around, noticing there wasn't many people in here as usual. It smelt of greasy chinese food. I noticed some college kids, hanging out and having fun. I didn't really have any of that since I'v come here. I was kind of a reject, well not really but I kept to myself usually. But it would be nice to get to know at least someone. I turned off my camera and sipped from my tea. Thats when I noticed someone looking at me.
I saw them, I could see 'em clear from over here, those fangs. Sure everyone has been talking about how the vampires are living in our world and stuff. Along with those 'werewolves' ruling the main part of london. Which I kept clear of. But I haven't really ever noticed them. I sat down my glass and knew I was staring. I felt like an idiot but she was looking at me too.
She had quite a few peircings and was pale with black hair. Making her stand out alot. I wondered if people were ever bothered by this. I felt odd sitting there, looking at her from afar. So I pulled up my bag and my tea and walked over to her table.
I knew it must have seemed odd for her too but I felt like greeting her. Heck, I knew a vampire? Although these days, appernetly alot of people knew them. "Hello," I said to her in a friendly voice, as I sat down. "I'm Lilah," I held out my hand over the table to her. I wondered what she was thinking. I took a big leap coming over here to meet the vampire. Yet she seemed like any other human being.

Kat watched Lilah carefully, finding it odd that they both decided to just stare at each other from across the room. She wondered if Lilah was a vampire or werewolf, or whether or not she knew that Kat was one. Kats fangs stood out quite a bit tho, they were longer then most. She shifted her wait nervously in her chair. Would this turn out to be a big scene? She hoped not. Kat remembered about one time she had sat down in a local restaurant and a little girl felt it necessary to act out when she caught a glimpse of her fangs. More accusations were made, and Kat was chased out of the town.
An eyebrow was raised as Lilah approached Kat. She listened to her talk quietly and stared down at her hand like it was a foreign object. No one had ever done something like this before. Maybe this night wasn't going to be boring, but rather, weird.
Can then realized that she was staring as well. Swiftly, her hand outreached to shake Lilah's. "Um, I'm Kat." She wondered what the hell this girl was thinking. She wasn't being rude or anything, but had she seen Kat's fangs, wouldn't she be afraid? But then again, maybe she was just overly friendly and wanted someone to talk to.

I sat there wondering if she was going to shake my hand. I felt dumb for a second, this was me sometimes I do things when I was bored. Usually I kept to myself, but like I said I was in need of some friends. And this vampire, well it seemed cool to meet one. If you think about it, some girls would die to meet a vampire. I mentally rolled my eyes.
She finally raised her hand and shook mine."Um, I'm Kat." she said. She seemed rather weirded out I came over her to greet her. I didn't mind though, I also was one of those girls who didn't really care what others thought. Unless it was a really cute guy I was interested in of course.
I came back from my thoughts and took my hand back. "Nice to meet you Kat! What are you doing here in the big london?" I asked her with curiousity. I wanted to ask 'vampire' questions but I thought that might be rude. Instead I kept with simple small talk. Try to get to know her, perhaps be friends. The idea made Lilah hope for at least friendship.

Kat tucked her book away in a side bag that she was carrying. She wrapped her hands around her green tea to warm them up. If was a nice night out and Kat was only in jeans and a tshirt with a vest and sweater; but right now they were sitting right beside an air conditioning vent.
Kat was staring again, just watching Lilah's slight movements carefully. She blinked with her big green eyes wondering what made her want to come over and talk to Kat. "I moved here a few yers back." Kat gave sort of a half smile and looked down at her tea. Ran away to London was more like it. She was Canadian and had to sneak over to get here. Eventually, thru various people, Kat got citizenship and her own place to live.
"I'm just like any other person living in London, I guess." Kat looked back up at Lilah. This was probably the longest, non-violent/legal conversation she had ever had for the ten years that she had lived in London. "What are you doing here in London?"
Kat raised her tea to take a sip. When she put it down, she smiled, trying to be friendly. She didn't realize it showed off her fangs more then she would have like..

I nodded as Kat spoke. She was so interesting to me. I wanted to ask her so many things on so many different topics. I nodded once more as she asked me a question "What are you doing here in London?" I always loved explaining my reasons for being in this amazing place. "I came here a few weeks ago, here for a photography school. It's pretty small but I love the face of being here all around. London seemed like a great place to start out my photography career. That's if it ever sets off." I added a bit of a laugh in the last sentence.
I gripped my drink at too a sip. It was getting pretty late, but I figured I'd stay a little longer to chat with Kat. "So how old are you?" I wondered. I'v heard of vampires being like 200 years old... or well something like that. It still fasinated me. Kat probably was thinking I was a total weirdo coming over and trying to chat. "Sorry If I'm kind of out of the norm. I'm just trying to meet some new people," I said my words kindly trying to convice her.

Kat smiled, taking ing everything Lilah said. She was amused by this conversation, but maybe that was only because she thought that she would have nothing better to do tonight. Regardless, Kat never thought she would find herself talking to a human without feeding on them afterwards.
"This is a great place for photography. There are so many very pretty sights, and you dont even have to leave the city for them." Kat took another sip on her tea, smiling kindly at Lilah. She was surprised how far this was going. Notmally, Kat would be walking away.
Kat was mid way thru sip when Lilah asked her age. Some of the tea felt like it had gotten stuck in her throat. If Kat said her real age, Lilah would know because Kat certainly didn't look 25. She could pass if needed, but thats only because she had matured more in some areas. then again, Kat didn't want to say 15 and lie. "I'm 25. And you?" It didn't really matter, Kat thought. Lilah had probably seen the fangs.
"Heh, your really not all that weird. Just friendly." Kat smiled again, trying to be friendly back. "And if anything, this has been an enjoyable conversation. Maybe weird, but normal is boring."

I basically just kept my eyes towards her face, nearing the mouth. Every so often I'd get a peek of her fangs. Everytime it was really interesting and I just wanted to go out and touch them. But that would just be weird, ha.
"I'm 25. And you?" she said. I refocused my eyes from her mouth to her eyes. "You look really young for 25," I said with my wonderous mind. "I'm 17" I smiled. I was just old enough to be driving and such but had no money for a car here. Also I wasn't old enough to be drinking and for most clubs and parties, which sucked.
"Heh, your really not all that weird. Just friendly." she said, as I took a sip of my tea. I nodded with the glass in my hand."And if anything, this has been an enjoyable conversation. Maybe weird, but normal is boring.". I nodded once more "Yeah, I know what you mean."
I moved in my seat to get more comfortable, I liked Kat but it had only been a few moments. I still didn't know if she really liked my presence. I looked back to her as I smiled. "So where you from?" I asked in curiusity.

Kat smiled. She definetley had to know now. Lilah had been staring at her mouth like crazy. It just seemed more noticable now, to Kat anyways. Heh, look young for 25? That wouldn't have been an uncommon reaction, had Kat told her age to people more often. She mused at what some people would have said tho. Lilah seemed to be very optomistic. Or at least, not very scared of much. Maybe she had vampire friends?
"Um, originally from Canada." Kat gripped the glass tighter, thinking of all the things that Canada included. Happiness being ripped away, painfully strand by strand. Her grip tightened more. The thoughts came more. Kat became fixated on her cup, glaring almost. She smirked. "Heh.."
The glass shattered in her hand. The sound of breaking glass had some waitresses looking towards her. Small shards of glass stuck in and out of her palms, but she didn't flinch. The remaining tea spilt over the surface of table. "Shit!" Kat got up and scurried to a small counter the restaurant had set up for napkins, milk, and sugar. The general coffee things. She rushed back to the table and wiped the glass and spilt tea up.
"I'm sorry," Kat said, throwing the napkins out. Some people were staring now, and she shot an angry glace at them, wanting to bear her fangs. "I, uh, don't know what came over me." Kat was embarrassed, and the looks from other people shot daggers up her spine.
"Maybe, maybe I should just leave.." Kat leaned over the table with her head down. She could feel the glass digging into her hand, but maybe she deserved it. That was a scene that could have been avoided.

"Um, originally from Canada." I snapped back into my life, after looking at the fangs once more. I couldn't get over them but I knew I must be a creep for looking. "Canada, I like it there," I added simply. Kat smirked at the statement.
Suddenly I jumped in my chair as I heard a glass break. Trying to register what happened, Shit!I looked down at Kat's hand, tea began spilling off the small table they were at. I quickly put away my camera bag and grabbed some napkins trying to help her. I noticed her hands, they had glass in them. She needed to go to the hospitial.
I felt the warm tea drip onto my lap. I cleaned it up around me. "I'm sorry, I, uh, don't know what came over me." Kat said. "Its fine, really." I said as I finished cleaning up the table. I looked at her hand, gapping at how painful it must be. "Maybe, maybe I should just leave.." she said. I took my eyes off the blood that was now getting on the table. "Kat, please let me take you to the hospital!" I said, almost with a freaking out voice. But I kept my cool for her sake. I got up and went around the her, grabbing her shoulder. "Come on, its not far from here. Do you have a car?" I asked quickly. Worried about her.

Kat shook her head. No. no, no! This could not be happening. For the first time in years, she was beginning to have a normal conversation with someone. A human, none the less. Something normally just looked down upon by Kat as food. This could not be happening.
Kat snapped back into it when Lilah began to speak again. A hospital? There was no way Kat could go there! With her back to Lilah, she slowly lifted up her hands. There was blood all over the table, and Kat would clean it up. She focused hard on her hands, and slowly began to pull shards of glass out of her palms. They made small clinking sounds as Kat let them fall to table, and again when some bounced off onto the ground. Kats eyes became very blank as she watched the cuts heal before her. Some of the shards went deep, and there was more then enough blood on the table, but it would be better now, she hoped.
Turning to Lilah, she sighed. "I really am very sorry, Lilah," she paused, "But I really am okay now. We don't need to go to the hospital.." There was a slight tone of despair in her voice. Kat leaned on one handbehind her on the table, hoping she could reach over to grab some napkins. Maybe she could wipe up the blood before Lilah noticed.
