Well Nisha is always one to hang around in bars/clubs. Demetri could know her from them going to the same clubs.

Michaela and Demetri could start off as long lost friends. When they run into one another Michaela would become interested in him in more than friends, I suppose. Of course, she is rather lonely and will doubt herself as to if she's really serious about him or not since she wouldn't want to ruin their friendship, etc, etc. (since she's pretty lonely, cough, cough). Anything else you'd like to add?
