"It'll stop you from injuring yourself and wrecking the place. It's why most werewolves go outdoors when they want to change. Even after your first change it will hurt every time you change from human to wolf. Been out in the open just feel more... natural. A wolf is meant to be outside in the woods or open fields, not locked up in a house. I think it's better that you go through the change indoors for your first time though... mainly because been outside the screaming that you'll do could draw some unwanted attention. It has been known that vampires and humans will attack wolves going through their changes.” ”If it’s going to hurt every time I change, what’s the point of changing?” Kris replied. It seemed a hard price to pay for the power to turn into a wolf at will.
"I'll be here to talk to you while you're going through everything. When you're done and in your wolf form I will change also and when you've gotten a hold of the basics we'll go outside.” Tah said, following him back to the couch. Kris had to admit that it was comforting, albeit slightly, to have a friend there who knew these sort of things. "I'm sorry you have to go through this. But it's better to go through it with someone that you know than by yourself." Again, that was true. ”Well, my guess would be the room that poses the least threat to my safety, if you will, is my room,” Kris said. A small room, Kris’ room didn’t have many breakables in it that couldn’t be replaced if they got damaged.

"I've always viewed a werewolf of been balanced. We suffere the pain of the change but out of it we get the ability to become so much more. We become closer to nature, closer to the animals that inhabit the earth". He pauses for a moment. "Heh, I'm starting to sound like my father. He was always telling us why it was so good been a werewolf. There were some of us who said that been a vampire would be better because there is no constant change, but then he would tell us that then we would not be able to enjoy the warmth of the sun or the beating of our own hearts. We grew up with the pain of changing from human wolf and back again. Without pain there can be no pleasure, without suffering there is no release. Also we always saw out kind as closer to humans than vampires. We lived with humanity, not off of it". "Your changes will hurt, everyone's does, but the rewards you get out of it are amazing, trust me".
"Your bedroom it is then. I suggest you lay on the bed and try to clear your thoughts, it will be hard but don't focus of what is going to happen. For an hour or so you'll be in intense pain, after that you'll change. For that hour I will stay in my human form and then change about half way through as the whole process of changing can take about twenty minutes".

I’m not sure how I’d explain that to him. Or this for that matter.” "Your changes will hurt, everyone's does, but the rewards you get out of it are amazing, trust me." Kris just glanced at his friend. Hadn’t he just said he had been born a werewolf? He didn’t know much about the change of one that had been bitten right? He hoped he knew a little more about it than most born weres.
"Your bedroom it is then. I suggest you lay on the bed and try to clear your thoughts; it will be hard but don't focus of what is going to happen. For an hour or so you'll be in intense pain, after that you'll change. For that hour I will stay in my human form and then change about half way through as the whole process of changing can take about twenty minutes." ”Great. Another twenty minutes on top of the hour sounds just peachy,” Kris said sarcastically. Still he rose from the couch and headed upstairs to his room. He was sure Tah would follow him. Once there, he remembered what Tah had said about the piercings and took out his lip ring as well as a few earrings he had in. his chain was long enough that he didn’t think it would pose a problem in the change.
Lying on the bed, Kris tried to keep his thoughts off of the inevitable pain he knew would come. Not an easy task unless you were and individual that got off on pain, which Kris was not. In fact he had a pretty low pain threshold. The next hour was torture for him. After that was over, the actual change began. Bones shifted from a normal human shape into a shape that was more and more lupine by the minute. Hair of varying shades of black and grey sprouted across his being, leaving a bald spot on his shoulder were his dragon tattoo was. Because of his hair being long, the hair was shaggy and almost covered the spot. By the time it was over, a black wolf with pale blue-grey eyes stood among the pieces of torn cloth that had been the clothes Kris had been wearing. Kris’ necklace hung like a collar about its neck.

"It's strange really. People seem to accept that you if you're a werewolf more than if you're a vampire. I think people are more accepting of werewolves than vampires, and I can't blame them at all... nasty blood sucking leeches that they are. You don't have to tell your son that you're now a werewolf. It's not something that will show outwardly on your person so it can be a pretty easy thing to hide from others. There will be a right time to tell your son about what you are, perhaps when he's a bit older and can understand it". *** Tahmores had never seen someone go through their first change, only been told about it. The screams and cries that Kris makes during that one hour would make anyone else want to put the poor man out of his misery but Tah' knows that he has to go through it to come out the other end as a fully fledged werewolf. About half way through Kris's change Tahmores himself begins his change from human to wolf, he had had the heinsight to wear minimal clothing since anything he wore would be shredded. Always an unpleasent experience Tahmores had learnt to use thoughts of his home to fight back the pain of his bones breaking and his organs reforming. Dark brown fur covers his head and shoulders, while the rest of the fur is a more creamy colour. On his forearm there is a bald patch where his tattoo would be. His injured and half blind eye is now totally white, the scars over the eyelid barely able to be seen. To others this may make Tahmores appear weak due to his impared vission but he hasn't stopped him yet. He watches Kris go throught he transformation. When he is done Tahmores steps back a little to give him space, a newly changed werewolf can be skittish and unsure of their senses; improved smell and hearing can cause some problems to those not used to it. Keeping his head low to show he means no harm towards Kris, Tahmores gives him a short bark to say hello.

I know he’s just a kid but that’s the last thing I need.”*** After the change, Kris was hit with a wave of new senses he hadn’t had before. As the wolf, his sense of smell, sight and hearing were many times better than they had been in his human form. To be honest, it scared him a bit to all of a sudden have all these new sensations assaulting his senses. And being smaller than the now wolfen Tahmores didn’t help matters. But at least Kris had seen that form before and recognized it with what was still the human part of his brain. Still that didn’t stop a growl from rising in his throat.

The growl coming from Kris was not one of meant aggressions, more one of fear. Never-the-less Tahmores would have to teach Kris that he is a smaller wolf and that been so means that he cannot just go up to someone bigger than him and start growling and making threatening actions towards them. To do this Tahmores barks loudly at Kris and even gives him a slight nip on his neck, not hard enough to draw blood but enough to show that at the moment Tahmores is the one in charge and the one to be followed. Stepping away from Kris he looks around the room then trots towards the door which he had left slightly ajar when he had followed Kris into the bedroom so they could get out. He turns back to Kris and motions for him to follow him out of the house.
Outside the cool, crisp winter air burns his nose slightly, even in a city like London the air smells clean during winter. Holding his head high Tah' takes in the smells and sounds then walks onto the sidewalk. Come on Kris. Don't be a baby and come run through the snow with me. Of course the words aren't actually said, more meant through a series of bark and growls. Tah' stands in the snow waiting for his friend, his ears constantly flicking around at the many sounds he can hear.

Kris wasn’t showing aggression to his friend. With Tah being the larger wolf that might have been suicide if they weren’t friends. Still, he yelped a bit when Tah put him in his place with the nip to the neck. But after a few minutes of being around the other wolf and becoming more and more comfortable in the wolf body he now had, Kris started to calm down. He watched Tah walk to the door to the bedroom, which had been left ajar so they could get out in their wolf forms. Kris hesitated a minute, not sure how his dogs would react to wolves being in the house. Bear, the Dane, was a big dog and Kris didn’t want to fight with him. But when he didn’t hear barking or growling at Tah’s presence as a wolf, he followed, nosing the door open a little as it had closed a tad when Tah had gone through it.
Stepping out onto the porch, Kris was hit with yet more scents from outside. Come on Kris. Don't be a baby and come run through the snow with me. Tah barked and growled at him. Course he didn’t really say the words but as a wolf, Kris understood the barks and growls as if he had spoken them. If a wolf could roll its eyes, then Kris might have done that to his friend’s comment. Just to prove he wasn’t a baby, that he could handle this, he followed Tah out onto the snow. And he instantly regretted it. Like a puppy experiencing the cold snow for the first time, Kris practically hot-footed across the snow until his paws got used to the new sensation of being on snow and ice without shoes on.

Tah makes a soft huffing sound that could be a laugh, the actions of Kris amusing him. Been around Kris reminds him of been back in his pack in the desert, even the way Kris hot-foots across the icey snow makes him think of the young members, in human or wolf form, carefully walking across the hot morning and afernoon sands. Tahmores moves onto the road where the snow has been cleared so cars can drive easily through, not that there are many cars on the streets these days. Come onto the road, there's less snow here so your feet wont be so cold.
On the road Tah' shows Kris around the area, though he may know it but it would look differnt through the eyes of a wolf and at a different eye level. He shows Kris places to avoid because of humans or vampires, places where werewolves are generally accepted by the populace. Always been aware of your surroundings. Vampires are good at sneaking around, they usually like to hide on the tops of building and then come jumping down from above. The older you get the better your senses will get and you'll be better at picking things up.

Come onto the road, there's less snow here so your feet wont be so cold. Tah ‘called’ as he went over to the now nearly vacant street. There were a few cars here or there but nothing that would be a problem. The passers-by would probably think they were just regular wolves on the hunt or something to that effect. I’m pretty used to the cold now, Tah, Kris barked back as he stepped onto the street pavement. It was still cold but not nearly as cold as the snow had been and having paw pads helped a lot.
Everything was so much different at this level. As a wolf, Kris was barely four and a half foot tall. As a human, he was around five foot ten. And the scents…it was all distracting to a newborn werewolf. It was hard to pay attention to the things Tah was trying to tell him. Always been aware of your surroundings. Vampires are good at sneaking around, they usually like to hide on the tops of building and then come jumping down from above. The older you get the better your senses will get and you'll be better at picking things up. Tah ‘said’. I’m guessing that’s so we can’t smell them? Kris asked. It made sense. If they were on top of buildings then they were out of the scent range of a wolf right?
